I was prescribed Atenolol for anxiety. Recently I was put on 4mg of Tizanidine once a day for back issues. I know that Tizanidine is similar to Clonidine and I have read that if you stop Atenolol while on Clonidine you could go into hypertensive crisis due to alpha antagonism. I am curious if this is also an issue with Tizanidine. I've read Tizandine is like 1/50th the potency of Clonidine but I'm not sure if there are any issues here. I am only taking 12.
I don't know if I have Trich or not but I was wondering if taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2x daily would cure it?
How do you taper of tizanidine (8mg) and xanax (up to 5 mg) a day safely with the least amount of withdrawl symptoms?

Zanaflex is Tizanidine which is used to relieve the spasms and increased muscle tone caused by multiple sclerosis, stroke, or brain or spinal injury. Tizanidine is in a class of medications called skeletal muscle relaxants. It works by slowing action in the brain and nervous system to allow the muscles to relax.
I have spasms in this area as well as in esophagus, and the diaphragm. Baclofen did nothing so I was sent to a pain clinic. I was put on tizanidine and tripeltal four time a day. Then a butrans patch. With the butrans I take less of all my other medications. My spasm were so bad nothing helped and they got more and more frequent. My spasms in other areas have decreased as well.
Oxycodin sets the spasms off for me. I have avoid it at all costs.
Sleep never came and restleg was so bad I took some tizanidine and it helped me get some slee[ but only for a could of hours and then I felt worse. Took more Tizanidine because my doctor said its 'not addicting" but I'm notincing I'm feelin worse not better. Feel more aches, not less, heart thumbing and throw up this morning (so missed workd again today!) I have to work tomorrow even if I feel I might drop dead. Is the tizanidine dragging it out or helping.
Can someone tell me what Gabapentin or tizanidine is? What its used for and will it help with suboxone withdrawals? Any info would help. Thanks.

I have now maxed out on 3300 mg gabapentin daily. Also using lidocane patches, tizanidine for spasms, and now 10 mg oxycodone. I had one injection in L5 disc herniation. Did not work. Now waiting till July 14 for injection in S1. If doesnt work then another mri then surgery. This has been going on since April 3. Got hurt at work. Im a Cna. Im about ready to give up. The nerve pain feels like Im being skinned alive. If anyone knows anything that could help please let me know!!

Im also taking Zoloft 100mg for depression, 25mg phenagen 3 x a day for nausea, 4mg tizanidine 3 x a day for muscle relaxer, 50mg of cymbalta for pain, 10/325 percocet 3 x a day for pain. I know this seems like a lot of medications, I was actually on a lot more narcotic medications until my insurance changed and I had to go to a new pain management doctor and he's trying to lower my nacrotic pain medicines, so he put me on Cmybalta, tizanidine,and now trying Topamax.
There is nothing really to be said here besides you need to talk with your doctor about slowly replacing the medication with something else. Zanaflex can cause serious rebounding of symptoms. Tizanidine (Zanaflex) is a drug that inhibits receptors in the brain. So abusing a medication like this can lead to all kinds of psychological and motor related symptoms. I was prescribed 2 mg Tizanidine about a month ago when the latest symptoms started and was doing fine and it really seems to help. My symptoms this time have been in my right leg for the most part but on Thursday I started having numbness tingling in my face, right side, that seems to be getting worse. The swelling went and the pain in the testicle reduced but then my left one started to hurt, is that conman for the infection to swap sides. I also have pain in my lower back and lower abdomen and very painful headaches. The doctor didn't seem to bothered about it or even check it over. They have prescribed me another 10 day course of ciprofloxacin.
She takes lortab for the pain, baclofen for the spasms, tizanidine to help her muscles relax, xanax for when the tizanidine doesn't help, and effexor XR (both for depression and the neurological pain relief benefits). I have neuropathic nerve pain from a botched neck spinal fusion 2013. After 2 more spinal fusions to correct the problem it was determined that the problems i am having cannot be corrected. I am left with permanent damage and neupathic nerve pain. To add to it my lower back has disc compression issues. I have been getting injections for this when its unbearable, but im apprehensive about surgical treatment.
