My partner was given Cipro for UTI, Suprax and Zithromax he started the Cipro last Thursday and when positive results came back yesterday started the other two meds, his symptoms were gone before starting the Zithromax and Suprax, I had no symptoms. My question is what is the percent of reinfection if we have sex over the weekend. My doctor said normally Gonnorhea is non infectious after 24hrs of treatment and Clamydia is 1 or 2 days. Is that correct?
My bf had been taking Cipro for a UTI until results came back he was positive, he was put on Zithromax and Suprax Thursday and finished his Zithro yesterday, I have also been on Cipro this week, which I will still be on until Saturday. If we had sex Thursday, could he reinfect me, or do we both have enough antibiotics in our system to pretty much block any bacteria from passing back and forth. I'm also scheduled for test of cure tomorrow.
There is a bit of urethral irritation so he suggested Cipro. Great, another antibiotic to torture my knees, as Zithromax did this to me already and still causes rather painful soreness while I try in vain to sleep.
He said I could do either, so I opted against Cipro for now. Cipro would be a 10 day course he said of 500mg pills twice a day.
I finished my Zithromax(I didn't need this) a week and a half ago.
Went to ER, prescribed Cipro 2x day (250mg each) for 10 days and 1g Zithromax. Symptoms resolved in 48 hours but now still on Cipro and 6 days after Zithromax and pain has returned to urethra as bad as before but now no real discomfort in prostate.
What's next? What do I possibly have?
Is what I have contagious?
I have just finished a 5 day course of Cipro prescribed over the phone by an oncall physician last weekend for a UTI. I had a non-specific UTI about 4 years ago. It was not gonorrhea or chlamydia as determined by my urologist.
My main symptom this time, however, is not discharge or burning as it was last time. It is a feeling of fullness in my bladder. Could this be the medication causing this? I have a follow up this week.
I have been taking 500mg of cipro for the past two days. I've had light chest pain, on and of body numbness, and a few other odd symptoms. After my period, I kept having the urge to pee even when I went and my uti strip said I had blood in my urine..so my doctor put me on cipro for five days. It seems I'm probably allergic to it and I don't want to take anything else. Would a zpak work for me? I've taken three Benadryls today just to rid of the horrible symptoms.
My urine culture showed a small amount of blood in my urine. The doctor prescribed 2g of Zithromax to be taken once and 10 days of 500 mg of cipro taken twice per day.
My questions are:
1) What stds am I at risk for (I.e. herpes, syphillis, HIV)?
2) could I have gotten trich?
3) Will the 2g of Zithromax taken once and the 500mg of Cipro taken twice daily kill any bacterial infection I could have acquired?
My doctor felt that the discomfort was due to the gardenerella and not from the oral sex and prescrived Flagyl, which did not help. Susequently, he prescribed Bactrim DS, and then Cipro. The symptoms persisted. During his follow up exam he felt that there was nothing clinically wrong and that the symptoms would resolve on their own over time. Since he didn't want to do any testing, I insisted on taking Suprax & Zithromax to be sure there were no STDs.

Have a I taken enough of these drugs to kill both bacterial infections, and if so, how long should it take to clear up an infection if I do indeed have one?
I visited a STD clinic was treated with 1gm of Zithromax,was tested for CHlamidia, Gonorrea, syph, HIV- all negative. The irritation cleared up in 3 days. 3 weeks later the irritation started again. I visited my family doctor, he put me on Cipro which did nothing. I visited the STD clinic again, got tested for everything again, and came out negative. They gave me 1gm of zithromax which cleared everything up after a few days- but the irritation came back after 2.5 weeks.

My symptoms persisted so I went back and was tested again. They told me my white blood cell's showed up as "occasional" meaning that my treatment should of been fine and they could not help me if I still had the same symptoms.

I was treated last Tuesday with Rociphen and Zithromax, and a small round of Cipro, for Gonnorhea, Clamydia infection. The day after and still today I get short kind of spasm cramps in my reproductive organ region, sort of like menstrual cramps. They are sporadic maybe two a day, could this be from the meds? I also noticed right after treatment I get a small pinch in my urethra, randomly, the nurse said more fluids??
My concern is the continuous usage of doxy and the possible resistance of said pathogen to this drug. Is cipro 1mg x 3days along with 1mg zithromax once per week x 3 weeks usually sufficient to destroy this?

I of my own accord started myself on 800mg TID of cipro + 200mg doxy + 4g of zithromax for around 3-4weeks Semen anaylsis now aroung 0.7million per ml 35% motility. I was then told by the doc to take cox2 inhibitor as its more effective so arcoxia 90mg TID was prescribed. That pain I felt was gone and stopped the antibiotics and the colour started getting clearer again.
MD diagnosed probable NGU and possibly prostatis. Urine culture and urine GC/CT sent off. Treated with zithromax 1 g and cipro 500 mg BID for 3 weeks to cover possible prostate.
Concerned about a possible encounter the first week of August (>7 weeks ago). I was drinking, memories are foggy from the night. I DEVELOPED PNEUMONIA IN MARCH, ABOUT THE TIME THAT I SWITCHED FROM NATURE -THROID TO ARMOUR. CEPHALEXIN DIDN'T WORK, CIPRO WAS NEXT FOR THE USUAL COURSE. DIDN'T WORK SO ZITHROMAX WAS THE LAST AND WAS MORE EFFECTIVE.
ABOUT THE SAME TIME MY ARRYTHMIAS( PVCS AND PACS) BECAME MORE PROMINENT AND AT TIMES MY HEART RATE WAS AS LOW AS 33.

I caught an std over a year ago, with swollen lymph nodes and and a urethral discharge being the first symptoms. I was treated with cipro, with no results and then went to the ER and was given a shot of rocephin, a 1000 mg of Zithromax and prescribed doxycycline. The discharge went away, and the lymph swelling in my left armpit, left elbow and behind my left knee went down by about 1/3, but stayed swollen and irritated for over a year.
