I have read about overgrowth and did take cipro 500 mg daily for 5 days and came out of being so weak I could hardly walk episode!..the dr said just try and it helped..thank you! I know taking antibiotics when no fever or culture sounds questionable but it did help a few months ago.....I am in pain a lot but when I am really weak..I wonder if something else is going on..
I'm a 54 year old male and have had similar experience with both doxycycline and cipro. The first time I had a prostititis attack cipro didn't work and doxycycline helped me after 2 full weeks. 18 months later I'm having another bout, this time its the other way around - Doxycycline didn't help and cipro seems to be working after 2 weeks.
Are you taking Flomax too? My prostititis problems seemed to start when I went on Flomax.
9 weeks ago i had protected sexual intercourse with a girl in mexico i did use a condom 6 weeks later i began to have a fever of about 101 this fever would hit me at night time and i would have night sweats with it after the fever i started vomiting really often and so i went to the doctor he gave me cipro to kill bacteria once i started taking cipro i developed a rash on both of my elbows and alot of itchiness throughout my whole body is this an hiv infection
I HAD JUST FINISHED MY 500MG CIPRO FOR 10 DAYS AND POTASSIUM PILLS 1 2X A SAY FOR 10 DAYS TOO. I WENT TO MY PC DOC AND SHE IS YOUNG AND SAID MY FEVER COULD BE STRESS, BUT I AM FEELING ALL OF THE SUDDEN LIKE A HAVE A SMALL FLU WHENI GET THE FEVER.....I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS FEVER AND FEELING ACHY! I had to take 20 days of Cipro for prostate infection. The e coli count was > 100,000. It took 4 or 5 day to take the temperature down and then it was a matter of getting through the 20 days. Right after I got off of Cipro (~2days) I was feeling constipated, A week after (yesterday) I realized my spleen was swollen (first time ever). Wife is a nurse and new where it was located.
4 weeks ago I began treatment for prostatitis. Dr gave me Cipro and Naproxen. Original symptoms of back pain, frequent urination, problems starting and stopping have went away. But I do continue to have a dull pain at the base of my right testicle that sometimes radiates to my right thigh. Also seem to get occassional tingling in my hands and feet? I have no nausea, no fever, no discharge. Could it be an STD?

Three days after returning, I developed diarrhea and a fever of around 100 F. The following day, I also added a stiff neck and headaches, especially if I moved my head too quickly. I went to see my PCP the next day and started Flagyl and Cipro. That night, I was very restless and had a jaw pain in my lower jaw and a tense feeling in my upper chest. The symptoms returned, but much more severe the next day and I went to the ER.
4 days after the exposure I went to the doc and got cipro for my ear. On day 9 I started taking the drug but have never gotten better which I am concerned. I easily kick these kinds of this with antibiotics.
My 2 questions are is it typical to experience body aches without fever with ars? It routinely is said to be like the flu but my flus always came with fever. And the other is does ars render antibiotics useless during this time or did I just happen to catch a cipro resistant bug.
He concluded that my best bet would be to take Nexium for heart burn, Cipro for a general antibiotic, and maximum strength ibuprofen for the fever - he gave me a weeks’ worth.
Well the week that followed was the worst week of my life, I did as the doctor said but had intense fever still with pain and periodically had uncontrollable shaking for as long as 40 minutes at a time.

with 2-4 days, I started to feel a burning sensation on my penis. I took Cipro for five days ( 500mgx2 a day) for five days and it stopped it for a couple days but then it came back. 3 weeks after the encounter I noticed a single or two red bumps that would appear on the head of my penis ( just red, not white, no liaisons, no puss) then they would dissapear. I also developed a fever, tiredness and muscle aches.

Next day, acute swollen, difuse lympadenopathy, fever, joint swelling. Continued Cipro for five days. Extreme fatigue followed, tremor, muscle weakness, perheral neuropathies. Fatigu sever, brfeathing difficult: all PFT normal. Elevagted histamine in urine 3x normal amount. Starting antihistamines and H1 and H2 blockers. Possible Mast cell activation disorder? Why woulod immune response continue and I keep feeling worse, aftger Cipro and Diflucan and Nuva ring were discontinued?
Is a low grade fever normal with diverticulitis flare-ups? After three months of doctor's offices, specialists, blood tests, scans, mri's...now I have a fever to add to the mix. I was diagnosed with gastritis (endoscopy), so far. Gallbladder emptying at 47%, no stones or sludge...checked out due to pain that was throbbing under right rib. This week the pain has moved to left side, rib to hip. Hurts to breathe deep, wear a belt, sit, or anything that jars my abdomen or touches it.
I've had a low-grade Fever of Unknown origin for 7 weeks as I write this, with extreme exhaustion. I have been through extensive testing and had many things ruled out, like Mono, Lyme, UTIs, tumors. I've had CT Scan of abdominal area, Blood Cultures, Urine cultures, Chest X-ray. I tried a week of Cipro as I was sure I had a UTI (my fever started the day after sex), and my pain went away but my fever and fatigue remain.

After over 5 yr's of constant mucus brought on after a bad sinus infection, its like dejavu I'm trying to get rid of another sinus infec. Recently I caught a very bad "cold" or bacterial or viral infec. I have been on antibiotics and I have gotten some changes in the amount of Green and discolored mucus. I just can't shake this it is confusing for me since the antibiotic's do help while I'm on them, but when stopped it comes back full force.
I am a 35 y.o. Male. I developed a fever along with aches and pains 10 days ago. I went to the doctor and was given Cipro. The next several days I was basically bed-ridden with a constant fever that spiked to 102.6 F and was fevered round the clock. Around the 4th day I began to feel better and my temp. gradually was reduced. However, in the late afternoon and every afternoon since, my fever begins to climb again. By around 6:00 p.m. it is generally anywhere from 100.5 - 101.6 F.
4 range. My normal is 97.3 .Tests for HIV/tick fever/cat scratch fever/ruematoid arthritis/nueropothy/CBC/stool cultures/urine specimens .Chest xrays/abdominal CT scan .Nothing !All relatively normal /negative,slightly elevated WBC . I have had ulcerative colitis for 25 years. I am 51 white male/non smoker ,have a beer or two most days .I saw an infectious disease specialist for last consults . I had a round of Cipro (2 per day/10 days) ,now the sun is killing me! I feel like a vampire !
Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
