the swollen gland had already disappeared that morning. i have been checking my temperature and it has been running between 98.8 and 99 for the last 2 days. 3 days ago it was 99.3 (all checked in the evening around 7:00 pm). would these numbers be a fever? i tend to run just below 89.6 but maybe i'm higher because i just passed ovulation? can you have a urinary tract infection with no burning? the only symptoms were frequent urination and very slight pressure in my bladder area.
I have taken Cipro for Urniary Tract Infections on and off for about 7 years. Last year the frequency of infections was about every 2 months. This winter I have had less than a month between symptoms. My doctor gave me a prescription for Macrobid in case I need it. I have taken it for the first time the past three days and the infection is still quite apparent especially during the night when I can feel the internal discomfort.
Be careful with using Cipro and other antibiotics and use it only as directed by your Physician. I was misdiagnoised with a urinary tract infection that time showed it wasn't and was prescribed Cipro. This drug and others in its class have a nasty side effect - mine was labral tears of the right shoulder and right hip.

Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.

I have taken cipro a lot too and it hasn't bothered me before. But I recently took it and after 1 dose my heart started acting weird. Any antibiotic of that class can cause heart palpitations. Unfortunately, most of the antibiotics I can take have that potential side effect, I'm allergic to penicillin.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
no, it will effect the medication and either make it not work or intensfy. it will say on the bottle of the medication not to take the meds. with alcohol.
I had to take 20 days of Cipro for prostate infection. The e coli count was > 100,000. It took 4 or 5 day to take the temperature down and then it was a matter of getting through the 20 days. Right after I got off of Cipro (~2days) I was feeling constipated, A week after (yesterday) I realized my spleen was swollen (first time ever). Wife is a nurse and new where it was located.
Please be very careful with Cipro. Look up all the side effects of this on the computer ASAP. I was on cipro 250mg for one month then doctor raised it to 500mg. I no sooner took the larger dose than I started to jerk in sleep and had problems with numbness/tingling in both arms from elbow to finger tips. Shook like i had parkinsons.

t been able to confirm. As a result, I went to a pharmacy and got a 10-pack of 500mg Cipro and a 3 pack of 500mg Zipro. I took 1000mg of Cipro and 1000mg of Zipro yesterday and another 500mg of each today. Have a I taken enough of these drugs to kill both bacterial infections, and if so, how long should it take to clear up an infection if I do indeed have one?
Regarding the urinary tract infection It sounds like the organism causing the problem is getting resistant to the drug Cipro and you may need a new prescription. Also, Cipro may be causing you to throw up. it is possible you have a kidney infection still and it is causing pain that is radiating to the front.
In your case because you had not been to the gym for a long time, your sore shoulder muscles may have nothing to do with the cipro and it may just be coincidental.
When you have not exercised for a long time and then start to exercise again, everything feels sore and tender.
Had you been exercising at the gym non stop and got the muscle soreness when taking the cipro, then yes, I would have suspected that may have been a side effect from the cipro.

I've run the gamut of all the specialists I can find, and I'm hoping maybe I can find some answers here. I've been on a 6 month journey trying to nail down a diagnosis, and I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with how frustrating that can be!
My initial symptoms presented back in January--extreme fatigue, brain fog, memory loss, pins and needles in my hands & feet, some IBS, headaches, and shooting pains throughout my body.
However, I would have been exposed 3. 4, and 5 days after finishing cipro. That is why I was considering testing and trying to see how long I would need to wait after taking the antibiotic.
As you indicated, I think that I can be experiencing prostate related symptoms. In trying to research prostate problems online, I think I may have made matters worse for me.
This time I noticed again after 30 minutes the sensation were strong and the itch burning. I have stopped taking cipro for 2 days now and the skin has stopped itching but is still blotchy and flaking (not quite peeling). I've never had anything like this before and I can surely attribute it to the drug. I don't think I've ever had a reaction to it before but I do recall taking it once before, for a urinary tract infection.
Early on when I went to the doctor, about 3 weeks ago, I was given 500 mg of Cipro, also tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea while I was there with a swab. Results were negative, did the 10 days of Cipro and strangely enough that seemed to be when the UTI symptoms kicked in, after the antibiotic. Anyway, what I am left with is frequent urination, dribbling after urination (doesn't all come out) and a slight redness to the penis glans on the head.
