I have a history of prostatitis back in April of 2016 which I took care of with a month worth of Cipro 500mgx2 a day. Early this June,I started having discomfort and an urge to urinate after sexual intercourse with female unprotected (I'm uncircumcised if worth noting) starting the day after and suddenly went away. I blamed my symptoms on the alcohol on the account that I had been drinking heavy the night before.
I found that I got pus in my penis a month ago (after unprotected sex) and treated for gonorrhea by taking Doxy and Ciproflaxin for 7days (docs prescription) the pus stopped but later having burning sensation when I pee, doctor gave me more dose of doxy, B complex and Cipro for 14days. I'm done with drugs felt a lil better but still having slight pains around my pelvis and when I drink alcohol I feel rapid itches as if my penis sweetens me(much discomfort) .
stayed 3 days and they did cat scan(radiation) and had me on flagyl and cipro very strong broad spectrum drugs. ever since then i have occasional gut discomfort and diarrhea. lately i seem to have symptoms more often. i went to a gastroenterologist and he suggest limitiing alcohol consumption.. i stopped drinking my beer and drank tons of milk hoping to soothe my stomach..now im worse than ever, bloating, gas, bubbling , diarrhea, stomach pain.
I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?

As an FYI the symptomes never resulted in any pain or white discharge. Just the sensation or needing of a need to urinate but little drops only came out.
With that said could the bacteria be from diet (heavy alcohol intake the prior 5 days)? Could extensive masterbation (3-5 hours/day) cause a prostatis flar up? Or could the latex or spermicide from the condom irritated my urethra and caused the flare up?
(I was given a course of cipro without my Naturopathic Doc doing a urinalysis because I was going out of town the day after my symptoms began). I took the cipro (it was a short dose- 3 days, taken 2 times per day), and started to feel better. Then about a week later symptoms came back, tried to treat it naturally and then decided to try the cipro again. After this something still didn't feel right and I suggested a kidney infection as I had started having some back pain.
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
My urine test was negative for any bacteria. Put me on cipro for a month. During cipro the pain in the tip of my penis was gone but I always maintained that low grade lower abdominal pain. After the cipro within two days the pain got worse. So now he has me on septra. I've been on it for a few days but i still have that low grade abdominal pain some frequency and altered sensation at the tip of my penis.

The doctors took me off one medication. The medication is called ciprofloxacin. Cipro is not working.I cannot stop urinating. Im urinating all day long every 5 minutes. I am having pain around my bladder. My back is hurting alot. Im not burning. I have this urge. What is wrong?
The same day (before receiving results), I managed to get an appoitment with an urologist, who prescribed 5 days of cipro and suggested 7 days of Nifuratel/Macmirror, which I've taken.
Next day, I started receiving results and every single one of the tests has come back negative (there wasn't even any protein,RBC or WBC in the urine). Even the swab test, for the results of which I had to wait for a week, is negative. I am STD-negative as well.
Went to urologist who took urine to culture and put me on Cipro. Ill feeling went away before starting the Cipro but burning got much worse. Several days in got itching and some mild soreness in my anus and one week in got what looks like conjunctivitis. There is no penile discharge but I'm 11 days into the Cipro and no significant improvement in the burning when peeing or my eyes. Three days ago urologist sent me for another urine sample, this time first pee of the morning.
I also had a bout of Prostatitis which I was given a ten day supply of Cipro for. Also, I have had my hear checked fully 2 years ago when my EKG showed and abnormality. Had an Eco done, chest x-ray, Cardiolite Spect Stress Test...all came back that I was fine aside form a benign right bundle branch block. I was unable to get treatment for 5 weeks after intercourse and I now have prostatitis. I am being treated with 500mg of cipro, 2x daily for two weeks.
One of my lingering symptoms is pain during urination. My urethra is irritated and it seems stretched out. When I have an erection, the tip of my penis (urethra) stetches open. Will this go away once my prostatitis goes away and I no longer have urethritis?
He cleaned the wound, prescribed a tetanus shot, and antibiotics (Cipro, and Clindamyacin). I asked about rabies and he felt that the chances were pretty remote and didn’t recommend the vaccine.
It’s the next morning and I’m feeling a bit nauseous, very slight headache, and lightheaded. I’m also pretty dehydrated, and the wound from the pig is sore and inflamed.
My question is, could this be the onset of a bacterial infection? And is the nurse correct in presuming there is no risk for rabies?
At this point just avoid caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods, drink plenty of fluids and avoid sexual activity ( including masturbation ) for a few days.
If a week from now symptoms are unchanged, be seen again for a repeat urinalysis.
I was away on a men's weekend about 6 weeks ago. There was a lot of alcohol involved. I vaguely remember women being involved at one point. I'm afraid there may have been some sort of contact, though probably nothing more than oral sex.
4 days after the weekend, I started to experience penile sensitivity and discomfort.
I was tested at a clinic for chlamydia and gonorrhea, twice within the first week of the party via urinalysis.
All tests came back negative.
I have had several rounds of different antibiotics, including a 21 day round of cipro. The problems kind of eased up for a short time (week or so after the cipro) but came back and now this discharge! I have lost my insurance and don't have money to keep paying doctors for the same assumptive diagnosis'. My partner has tested clean as well in the past. I'm at a loss here and need help please. Any suggestions will be helpful.
