s most likely diabetic. Ive heard that the pill is effective but also the side effects are bad... what should he do? he said everything else doesnt work. he's been smoking off and on since he was 14..he's now 37..any helpful ideas?

As for the ultraound, no gallstones were mentioned, just a polyp inside the gallbladder, and a "puddle" of sludge under it, ducts appeared clear at that time, and hida scan tech said there wer no blockages he could see,every thing flowed thru. If the pinching feeling is mild, it feels as though I could itch it away, when its severe, heat/light pressure , like my own palm over my side feels good.

hi,i have been taking it about 2 weeks and ill be honest with you,i have such vivid dreams that i talk really loud in my sleep so i get woke up all night and im really bad depressed ...dont know if its from no sleep or the chantix its self ....i think im going to quit i cant take not getting no sleep....take care...

I would try to go cold turkey first, I have heard that Chantix has some side effects for some people that are not good. I smoked for nearly 30 years and quit cold turkey, if I can do it you can do it too. I don't know about the theory it would be easier for you or not, a smoking addiction is what it is weather you've smoked 4 years or 30 years, but for your health now is a good time to stop. Hi, welcome to the forum, seroquel is known to be associated with weight gain. There is significant weight gain is seen, in such cases usually other anti psychotics are prescribed. The weight gaining effect of this drug will not persist after discontinuation. Any associated condition should be looked for. If there is a change in voice (Voice becomes dusky), weight gain, intolerance to cold etc. You need to get your T3, t4 and TSH level checked as it may be in initial phase.

Many people cannot drink without smoking. It impairs the judgement . I also take chantix but don't get mental side effects but stomach side effects. I don't want to stay on it much longer but it works.

My friend just quit taking Chantix due to the inability to handle the side effects. She has noticed that since quitting the Chantix alcohol has effected her differently. While on the Chantix she noticed the effects of alcohol tokk in quite quickly where now she seems to have a tolerance that was not there before. It also makes me tired which I can handle that one but not the weight gain, I have had problems with my back in the past and when I put on weight my back hurts. I have nerve pain in my face and just pain in my face, what would be the other options I can talk to the dr about today? Would another pill from that line of pills be the same? I am going to talk to him about treatment of the other pain in my face if he don't want to then send me to a pain specialist that can treat all the pain.

I have been on Lexapro several times over the last 4 years for 6 months to 2 years at a time. I am having problems with the sexual side effects and the weight gain. Depending on how old you are it could just be a weight thing. Normally early 20s you gain weight and again in mid-40s where it becomes hard to lose the weight. (I'm too lazy to check your status to see if you have your age so those things may not apply).

The weight gain no doubt is due to fluid retention which is one of the side effects. You might discuss changing drugs with your Oncologist as there are others available but keep in mind that they all have similar side effecfts even though you mjight not experience them to the same degree. Chantix can have a lot of side effects, including headaches. They may go away after some use of it for a while. And congratulations on quitting smoking, that is one of the hardest things to do in my oppinion. Chantix originally worked for me. Best of luck!

Yes someone I know who used Chantix for smoking cessation got side effects from it that took a long time to go away. If you are having further concerns speak to a doctor about it and as with any medication for information on side effects both short and long term look up the medication website because they all must be listed by FDA law.

Weight gain is one potential side effect of Cymbalta but it would also depend on your other medications and if they have this side effect as well. It would be worthwhile to speak to your psychiatrist about this and they could see how to adjust and/or change your medications as needed and also how this specific side effect could be addressed.

There is no mention of headaches as a side effect on the Chantix site but it may be that it is a lesser reported one. I never had any problems other then a little gas/queasiness but that wasn't until my second month. Maybe you should try a few more days and if it persists, call the Chantix hotline. I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. my best friend quit smoking but first tried chantix an had some really bad side effects felt strange awful nightmares an had seazure from chantix doc took her off asap. Also seen on tv a lawyer saying if you had bad side effects from taking chantix or even death pls call today we have law suit in effect.
