Celexa side effects yawning

Common Questions and Answers about Celexa side effects yawning

Avatar f tn In the meantime, it's typical the first few medications tried don't really work, or may just have annoying side effects, or even intolerable side effects, such as insomnia, or more often being tired all the time. Either one can happen. (One med kept me awake like drinking 20 cups of coffee. The same med put my mother to sleep for 18 hours.
Avatar n tn I take celexa and and you yawning is one of the side effects .Weird huh? Hang in there and let me know how you are doing .
Avatar n tn which is almost at its top amount allowed), but from the 20 something different meds I've taken through the years, wellbutrin has given me no side effects. Celexa can make you drowsy. Talk to your doctor, you might need the amount adjusted. Just my opinion.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have tried many different meds and am now on Celexa. It is one of the meds with the lowest side effects. I switched from Paxil because of the weight gain to Effexor and then Celexa all back to back. It is fine to do and you should start to lose the weight soon. I gained 40 lbs on Paxil and lost 15 once I switched. I don't have many side effects now. Just severe yawning lol. Also I can sleep a lot but that has always been normal for me.
Avatar f tn Granted, we are all different, but with that being said, I had virtually no side effects from Lexapro. Celexa is very close in chemical makeup, but that one didn't work well for me for my anxiety. I know it does for others, with minimal side effects, so it may be a good choice.
Avatar n tn I have been taking celexa for 2 weeks now and was on it for a month about 2 months ago and stopped. Now i am getting a lump on the side of my neck that really hurts could that be a bad reaction from the celexa ???
Avatar n tn Wow! It's amazing to find people who are experiencing the shortness of breath and yawning. I'm 25 work 9-5, and go to school full time (night classes) and i've been experiencing symptoms for a couple of months now, only took notice in Feb. sometime. The first time I remember I was sitting at my desk at work and I had trouble grasping "enough" of air, bad to the point where my co-worker was like "you alright?". I was fine, knew that I wasn't dying.
Avatar n tn I am afraid to take this or any other antidepressent for fear of gaining weight and other unwanted side effects. The withdrwal side effects that I have read about in this forum worry me. I would appreciate any advice that any of you have to offer. This as I said is a very difficult time for me and I would like to make an informed decision. Thank you for your time!
358304 tn?1409713092 In my experience with SSRIs like Paxil, I tend to notice side effects whenever I start, stop, or adjust the dosage (according to the Doc's orders of course). I believe that it can be two-fold. One, I believe it does take our bodies a bit to adjust to the medication and two, I also believe that we are much more aware of any symptoms and relate them to the medication's side effects whether they are related or not. For example, is the yawning due to taking the Paxil?
Avatar n tn They also are best for anxiety which she claims I have major depression and a najor anxiety disorder. I tried Celexa, similar to Zoloft only Zoloft has more side effects and Celexa is the newest of the SSRI's. I had bad withdrawal for about one week after I stopped taking it for having severe diahrea for over one month: a side effect. The withdrawal was similar to your experience with zoloft only mine also included nausea and vomiting for five days.
Avatar f tn I took Celexa for 5 months before I could stop the yawning. Some side effects, like speeded up system don't necessarily go away. Your pharmacist can give you some info over the phone or probably more in person, but you need to see the doc to get any med adjustment. Did you doc tell you to cut the dose?
Avatar f tn dry mouth, yawning;
Avatar n tn I just started treatment with Celexa to overcome dysthymia. Celxa seems to start working immediatly after the first "begginer" dose at 10mg! First I noticed side effects such as yawning, teeth clenching, and when I moved my computer's mouse my hand would make the mouse shortly overshoot what I was attempting to click. Then the music on the stereo started sounding better. However, I did have some physical lethargy for the first 6 hours of dosing.
Avatar m tn My MD said he'd let me switch to lexapro or something else if I wanted to change but cautioned side effects with other meds as well. Kind of a catch 22...I hate to switch if more relief is just around the corner...but at the same time, I wonder if lexapro or other med might be just a little better for me.
Avatar n tn Celexa and Effexor are both effective and safe antidepressants. It is unfortunate that you developed the side effects that you described, from taking Celexa. Effexor may have side effects such as sweating, dizziness, diarrhea, and sexual dysfunction. It may be helpful to review the possible benefits and risks of medications with your prescribing physician/psychiatrist, then make what you consider to be your best decision.
1756199 tn?1312599625 i am 18 years old and this is my 3rd day on Zoloft and i am taking half of the pill when i am eating dinner. Its for my Anxiety. Little did i know about the side effects until after it hit me. As of now i am constantly shaking my leg or foot, my pupils are dialated, i feel tired although i cannot fall asleep, the yawning is killing my jaw, have been dizzy, and my head feels like i am.......i am not quite sure how to put it into words but lets say "funky".
Avatar n tn My friend has been on zoloft for years and her side effects are sweating and difficulty having an orgasm. I heard sexual side effects are common with zoloft, I also know someone that experienced constipation with Zoloft. Selexa is suppose to have a low occurance of side effect (I think sexual too.) I take zoloft and not other SSRIs because I am Dxs with PTSD and GAD as well as major depression and Zoloft is suppose to help with the symptoms of all of these.
681888 tn?1272925909 Lexapro worked well for me after the initial side effects subsided. Of course, I was taking other prescribed antidepressants at the same time. I no longer take it as I don't have insurance. I take the generic predecessor to Lexapro, citalopram, which also seems to be helping me. In my particular case I did not find it made me sleepy, but reactions to psychiatric medications are often very subjective. I recommend you give it at least six weeks to see how it works for you.
Avatar n tn Zoloft and Paxil are known for sexual side effect. I am now on Lexapro and find it has few side effects (I'm still having weight gain, but not sure if it's meds, age, perimenopause, stress or a combo). I find Xanax to be a lifesaver, if not abused, I don't see it worse than relying on an SSRI (or insulin, if you're diabetic). It doesn't get me high and I keep the dose the same. I just started Inderal for palpitations but am fearful I will gain more weight.
Avatar n tn (From the Pfizer statements above, if your doctor has not conducted a full liver test before prescribing you Zoloft, your doctor has not even read and or understood the precautions in the Pfizer brochure) Side Effects Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride) Frequent Zoloft Side Effects palpitations chest pain back pain hypoesthesia (Partial loss of sensation) appetite increase myalgia (Muscular pain) asthenia (Loss or lack of bodily strength, weakness) malaise (Vague feeling o
469331 tn?1207193495 When the doctor suggested effexor I asked about side effects and was told the WORST and only real side effect would be lack of sex drive (which already being depressed wasn't really an issue anyway..lol). I asked SPECIFICALLY about weight gain and was told EFFEXOR is one of the best because of it's lack fo weight side effects (I'd worked really hard to lose all my baby weight and was about the fitest i'd EVER been and didn't want to lose that).
190885 tn?1333029491 I took Paxil for 5 years and then got off it. There were some side effects in the first weeks, but everything got back to normal eventually. My mood was a little "flat" (usually I get excited and nervous about things), but I didn't mind that. Why Paxil didn't work for you?
Avatar n tn For me, it took about 3-4 weeks for the side effects to essentially go away with similar medication. Remember, that you are already in a state of anxiety and you are already probably nervous about taking it. Having said that, ensure you talk to your doctor about this. Sometimes it is a little trial and error to find out which medicaiton is a good fit for you. What is good for some people is not for others...
Avatar n tn Would you recommend trying Paxil for the above symptoms? What side effects should I be most concerned about? And, due to the difficulties I have read about with withdrawal, should I even start this drug? (I am planning to become pregnant in the next year, and would have to wean off the drug in about 9 months.) Thank you.
Avatar m tn They have helped me a little bit when I take them together. There are really no negative side effects to these except they may make you a bit tired if you take a LOT. If you do go on medications, just do your research before you actually swallow anything. If you're well informed, you can work better with your doctor/therapist and achieve better results.
Avatar f tn It's not uncommon to have strange side effects when you first start a new med. I felt the same way when I started Lexapro but after a couple of days the side effects got so much better. What does were you started on? Sometimes it's better to start off small and work your way up.
495402 tn?1220621003 I'm very nervous, afraid of the unknown but I'm trying to keep a positive outlook on not getting any side effects at least not bad ones that could lay me out. So any words of wisdom from my fellow hep c treaters, I've been doing a lot of reading and asking a lot of questions so that I'm pretty well informed going into this 48 weeks of darkness. I do have every intention of coming out on the other side, undetected! Hope you all are doing okay and experiencing very few sides.
Avatar n tn I have been on .5mg's of xanx for about 2 years off and on. I started gaining wieght almost a year ago. I have OCD, PTSD, Anxiety, some panic attacks, Social Anxiety Disorder, I worrry all the flippn time....so my dr has put me on Paxil 20mg and the xanax .mg every 8 to 12 hours.
