celexa side effects dreams

Which makes my anxiety skyrocket right before bed, i have at least one nightmare per night i often have one wake up from it go back to sleep have anther and so on. I was just wondering if anyone knows if nightmares are side effects of this medication.

I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.

Has anybody gotten a stuffy head and "funny feeling" eyes as a side effect from SSRI's. I have had these side effects before but they went away after a month or so. I'm on Celexa and this stuffy feeling(like you are coming down with a cold) seems to be sticking with me. The med is working well except for this uncomfortable feeling in and around my eyes.

So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?

Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.

I have had crazy dreams since I first started taking Celexa, but figured that the calming effects outweighed the dreams,so I continued to take it. In the beginning, I had a dimished sex drive, but now I don't want it at all. After reading the other people's expreciences while discontinuing Celexa, I am worried that I will be a basket case when I try. Please advise the best way to discontinue this drug. I take 20 milagrams once a day.

I've had a prescription for 25mg of Zoloft for about a week and just now decided to start taking it today because my anxiety has been worse then usual. I'm wondering if the symptoms I'm having are side effects or should I be worried it's something else. They include hot flashes, drowsiness, restless, itchy, nauseous, and tight throat. Also if they are normal how long does it take for these side effects to go away for most people?

My last Celexa dose was last Wednesday and this is Wednesday, a week later. The side effects of the drug continue as before. I am not having the electric zaps which are apparently a withdrawal symptom. Instead, I have just continued to feel the same side effects as when I was taking the drug. Not as bad but still pretty uncomfortable. Ironically, my insomnia is gone and I'm am sleeping well now. Has anyone out there experienced this with such a short course of Celexa (Citalapram)?

I would not consider dreams to be a side effect of the medication, but instead an opening to learn more about why you are taking medications in the first place.

Quitting an antidepressant abruptly is not advised -- although wellbutrin isn't one of the worst for withdrawal, they can all be difficult to stop taking and usually are tapered off. This is especially true when switching to a med in a completely class.

As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. I know how low these are but I have never been able to tolerate any meds at higher doses without massive side effects. I did do pretty well on Wellbutrin xl and could do 300mg but I can't afford it anymore and the generic doesn't work.

Do these side effects sound normal? The tremors didn't start till taking celexa but I keep having those thoughts that it could be some serious disease and its really freaking me out. I've never felt tremors before and I truly feel scared. I have a tendency of obsessing over these thoughts which only makes matters worse.

i've been on Wellbutrin for 2 years and have stopped taking it as my depressionm is under control. I slowly went off the medication. As I was weaning off I noticed I began to itch on my head and then it became worse and now I'm itching all over my body. i went to the dermatologist and they gave me a shot of cortisone and told me to take Benadryl The itching has persisted and is keeping me up at night.

and yes insomnia was a huge side effect for me it sucked.. i had really bad stomach aches and very vivid dreams which is normal for any ssri... anyway i can still orgasm but i feel like its not as good as it was before i started taking celexa... if that makes sence..

Many of the symptoms you experienced are potential side effects of Celexa (aka Citalopram), namely agitation, anxiety, fatigue, drowsiness, sweating, and panic. There is no question that you did the right thing in immediately notifying your doctor of these side effects and I'm glad you did. While it is unfortunate that your experience with Celexa was a negative one, it is important not to generalize your experience to all antidepressants.

I know that Celexa, like any SSRI, causes sexual side effects like low libido, erectile dysfunction, and anorgasmia. My question is: Will these side effects wear off after I stop the Celexa? Can anyone who has experience with Celexa or other SSRIs tell me if their sexual side effects wore off after the treatment was over?
