Citalopram side effects yawning

Common Questions and Answers about Citalopram side effects yawning

Avatar f tn I took Citalopram for a long time without any side effects, 20 mg, although I was more comfortable with 10 mg. I have anxiety about taking drugs-go figure. It takes about 3 weeks to get the full effect of the drug and feel relief from symptoms. If you felt better at 10 mg, you might want to stay there. Just give it time to work--about another week for you. The xanax should help into the Citalopram kicks in. Hang in there.
Avatar n tn I was on 60 mg of accutane for 30 days up until about a month ago when these horrendous side effects became significantly noticeable. Before taking it I felt fine. I had energy, ate well, could concentrate. While taking it, I got frequent head aches, dizzy spells, felt fatigue, couldn't think clearly, had racing thoughts and trouble breathing. My doctor who perscribed it to me said the only real side effect is dryness skin and he's never had to taken any patients off it.
Avatar m tn Kind of scary and doesn't even feel like they are side-effects but sometimes else. Anyway, I hope you read this and reply back. Thank you.
Avatar m tn i did some research on citalopram and the side effects are crazy! psoriais is one of them but rare. however i havnt taken a citalopram in a week so how long should i wait for the effects to go heres this list of effects this drug has i canr beleave its legal..
Avatar n tn Then somehow my paharmacist made a human mistake I was was given Recital (Citalopram) as HBr for 3 weeks once again causing terrible side affects, stress attack, nightmares, screaming, once singing in my sleep, breathlessness, sweat, etc. Now as the pharmacy dont have Seroxat anymore I have begun Paxxet (Paroxetine as HCI) 20mg When I first began Seroxat I had bad side affects which improved. Then with Recital they began again just as bad.
Avatar n tn I am 21 years old and have never been the type to take perscription drugs or otc drugs for that matter, so I'm not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height.
681888 tn?1272925909 Lexapro worked well for me after the initial side effects subsided. Of course, I was taking other prescribed antidepressants at the same time. I no longer take it as I don't have insurance. I take the generic predecessor to Lexapro, citalopram, which also seems to be helping me. In my particular case I did not find it made me sleepy, but reactions to psychiatric medications are often very subjective. I recommend you give it at least six weeks to see how it works for you.
Avatar n tn But I had side effects with Effexor, nightmares always experiencing my mother's death, screaming in my sleep unconsolably, & 90% lack of sexual feelings, high B.P. After about 5 mos. I was in such a high with Effexor with excessive energy & my therapist together with the psychiatrist began me on Seroxat instead, as I established a rather self destructive attitude.
Avatar m tn I noticed quite a few of the symptoms you are experiencing are side effects of Citalopram. One of the rare side effects of Citalopram is difficulty with concentrating, some less common side effects are blurred vision, confusion, loss of memory and headaches. I remember you saying you have been taking Citalopram for about 3 months. That's a fairly long time to be exposed to the drug and consequently the side effects of the drug. Well, I guess that is all for now.
190885 tn?1333029491 I took Paxil for 5 years and then got off it. There were some side effects in the first weeks, but everything got back to normal eventually. My mood was a little "flat" (usually I get excited and nervous about things), but I didn't mind that. Why Paxil didn't work for you?
Avatar n tn When ever I have bad side effects to a med I take a day or two break and then restart the med to see if the side effect comes back. One thing that I have learned is that if you read the side effects you can make yourself have them.
Avatar f tn You mention in your OP that you were wondering if the twitching could be related to side effects of meds you had taken in the past. That was the first thing I wondered. Depending on what meds you were on and for how long, that absolutely could be the cause. Can you share what you had been taking prior to the twitching starting? As for the Celexa, you weren't on it long enough to determine whether or not it would have helped you.
Avatar m tn I have not been back to the doctor since being diagnozed with depression and will not take the tablets because of side effects and online reviews. I literally have no energy, at all. I feel tired all the time, and restless. I did some research and the only things I can think of are an auto immune disease to do with the thyroid or Multiple Sclerosis as the symptoms are very accurate and the recent pain in my legs/arms backs this up. If anyone can help, please do.

Avatar n tn That noise started happening for 5-10 seconds on its own, recurrently, only on one side. I joked with my husband that I thought I was having a stroke. Not painful or anything, just weird. I Googled "thunder in my head" on a whim, to see what would hit, and here this thread appeared. Would love to know what is going on.
Avatar m tn I immediately was referred to a psychiatrist, who put me on Zoloft. I had some side effects from the Zoloft (insomnia, sweating, RLS), which caused me great concern, but I gradually began to feel better. It has now been 6 months, and I am still on Zoloft 200MG a day, and seeing a psychologist 1-2 times a month for CBT. I am back to a normal quality of life, and even training again for running 5K and 10K's. Please don't make the same mistake I did and think this will go away on it's own.
244195 tn?1239496061 for me, due to the side effects of them they were not options for me. The high heart rate is annoying and worrisome at times, but it's not dangerous to have.
Avatar n tn Everything was either normal or something so minor that it can't be the cause. Tried psychotherapy, homeopathy, herbal stuff, anti-depressant (stopped taking it because side effects were horrible). Tried exercising, losing weight, gaining weight, church, praying :) I feel I tried everything there is. I even moved house, partly to see if a change in circumstances would make any difference. Result: there have been months that were better, e.g.
Avatar n tn I also was put on SSRI but did not like the initial side effects and decided not to continue with daily medication management. I do have a script for Ativan to be used sparingly. Good luck with your stress test, I think the best thing you are doing for yourself and your family is to speak with someone professionally. I just want you to know that you are not alone, your physical symptoms are real, once you accept that the symptoms are related to your anxiety, you can move forward.
211940 tn?1267884866 the doctor put me on celebrex but the side effects will scare the b-Jesus out of you. So I quit taking it, I have found very little relief and it is definately worse at night when I'm trying to sleep and can't find a position to get in where it doesn't hurt.

551343 tn?1506834118 Hi, I've been in the MS forum for several months and find it a source of advice and inspiration but it's nice to have the support of people who like myself are undiagnosed as yet, I'm currently in the ''possible MS but it might be something else'' category at present and my neuro has climbed on that big fence and staying there for the time being, he put me on carbamazapine for symptoms to which I have had side effects on the low dose, however, I learned this morning he wants me to stay on th
Avatar n tn I know I'll miss that and it's that which worries me more than the physical side effects of stopping. I've stopped before so I know the night time jitters are by far the worst thing to cope with and I'm hoping that a herbal sleep remedy will help. Without anything it feels like ants are crawling in your joints. I feel for everyone who has posted and wish you all the best.
Avatar n tn I took soooo many hpt's this time--I started last Monday--all were negative until this weekend--the day before I was supposed to get my period, so don't get discouraged yet. I'm not familiar with possible side effects of Clomid--could discharge be one of them? I found a site that says "hostile cervical mucas" could be a side effect to clomid--here's the site:
