As I said Zoloft was a wonderful drug for me and worked great for my panic attacks and anxiety to where they were completely gone for years, and it may not work for you at all. You just need to try and see what happens that is the best you can do!!

Hi everyone! Iv been taking celexa for the last four years for depression and anxiety and my doctor wants me to try Cymbalta as my celexa is no longer working and I have been suffering from pain that they believe is nerve related. Iv ready alot of reviews on this drug and not sure if its something I want to take, then again, iv read really good reviews on it. Anyone out there ever taken this drug and if so how was your experience with it.

Well...it's time to get out of the bed, out of the house, and back to a normal life. Went to a psychiatrist today, and long story short, he put me on 40mg of celexa (20mg first week, 40mg thereafter). I've heard it's comparable to lexapro, which has gotten good reviews. Anything I should be on the look out for? Anyone have any experience with celexa...if so, how'd it work for you?

I was on Celexa, for 3 months last year but it didn't do much for me, in fact it was like i wasn't on it at all, the only bad side effect was loss of sex drive and libido etc. no weight gain or loss that i noticed. I have bipolar 1, and was on other medication at the time. as you probably know everyone is different when it comes to these types of medication so please don't be discouraged by my comment.

Hi, I have been prescribed celexa for my anxiety problems which were chest pains, dizzyness, loss of concentration etc. I have been on 20 mg now for about a month and a half and I was wondering how long it takes for a case like mine to recover and finally come off celexa. Also one weird thing ive noticed is that my eye is twitching a lot which is the only side effect I have from this drug. Will it go away? Anyone else taking celexa for anxiety?

celexa is a good medication but when it comes to antidepressants u should follow the rule of {TRIAL AND ERROR} since there r different medications for depression our bodies responce is different so u should be on celexa for about 4 weeks to decide wether its good for u

I had no idea that testosterone replacement could cause anxiety. I took the stuff because I had anxiety, that Celexa had done a tremendous job of helping. I had to take a Klonopin last night because I was so anxious. I am pretty scared, because I can't have the pellets removed. Could this anxiety improve.?

I went to my family doctor and she told me its anxiety...started on Celexa and klonopin and I am happy to say I already feel great. I will get waves of anxiety in the middle of the night but they go away fast and I am back to sleep. The anxiety can really consume you which is what is so terrible. Did they give you any meds? The klonopin helped a lot while the celexa kicked in. I don't need the klonopin now. I have had no side effects either from the Celexa.

I've just been put on citalopram for depression and BDD and after reading the reviews and side effects leaflets, im worried about gaining weight on this medication...Is it the actual increase in hunger that causes weight gain or the tablet itself? I am quite worried about this as my body image issues make me scared about putting on weight..

Anxiety can often be like any other illness requiring daily medication. For most of us medication has given us our lives back. I think medication would greatly benefit you and you need to discuss your concerns with a psychiatrist so the two of you can determine what medication will work best. This is often trial and error but once we find the right one....it is well worth it!

I have been taking celexa (20 mg) for two weeks for anxiety with Klonopin just when I need it. I don't like the way the celexa is making me feel. Do you think I will have any side effects only taking it for two weeks if I stop?

I take 10 mg of Celexa and Vistaril for sleep. I think if I upped my dose of Celexa to 20 mg then it would probably work for the anxiety, but I'm trying to lose much needed weight. (I've lost 20 and have about 15 to go). I would obviously rather be happy and fat but I've been trying to lose this weight for about 7 years so I don't want to up my dose just yet. I've been using rescue remedy spray and calms and they help a little.

Did you just enter menopause? Because if you did, it could be hormones. But given you've been on a med for years, you must have had an anxiety problem for years. You don't say how long you've been taking the ativan or how often. If you only take it when you absolutely have to, not on a daily basis, you're not going to get addicted to it and it won't be as hard to stop taking.

I think each person is a bit different and I did have different feelings starting each one, but then again my life was in different modes during the beginning of each pill so I don't know if it was the nature of my stresses or the effects of the pills that made the difference. With Celexa, I felt calmer and more stressless in like four or five days. In about a week the constant feelings of impending doom were gone.

I was diagnosed with fibro a year ago but have had it for 12 years, and have been on celexa for yearS, it didnt help one thing! I switched to Cymbalta 60mg 4 weeks ago and have much less fatigue and anxiety. They are in the same family of anti-depressants SSRI which increase "feel good" hormones in your body, but i feel cymbalta works much better!! Im hoping to also start Lyrica as well. My therapist believes I have a little GAD along with some male post partum....took 20 mg of celexa for 2 weeks then got upped to 30 mg which I've been taking for 3 weeks. Ask your doctor about celexa. No antidepressants are specifically for panic or anxiety besides benzos but many AD are used to treat anxiety even though they treat depression too. Don't take anything on your own without doctors supervision cuz that can make things worse.

My doctor thinks so and prescribed some Ativan and Celexa. I think I fell the affects of the Celexa because I feel like Im in a good mood most of the time. I have been on Celexa for a little over a month now, before that i was taking lexapro for my depression and anxiety disorder, and although both my anxiety level and my depression have gotten better i have been having vivid nightmares. Which makes my anxiety skyrocket right before bed, i have at least one nightmare per night i often have one wake up from it go back to sleep have anther and so on. ve been taking Citalopram 40mg (Celexa) for anxiety and it helps wonderfully, but the fatigue is becoming ridiculous. Have been taking this for several years. Is it worth talking to my doctor about switching to another medication? thanks.

i feel good taking the klonopin in the morning at the same time as my celexa. im just wondering is the celexa supposed to work on my anxiety? just confused i guess?

There are natural remedies specifically targeted for anxiety, such as herbal relaxants, taurine, and 5-HTP (which is for both depression and anxiety), but if this is working for you than great.
