Avatar f tn The Doctor decided to go ahead with the cardiac cath due to the possibility of a false normal. I have been on Celebrex, prednisone, plaquinal, methatrexate, enberol, folic acid, fosamax. I stopped celebrex and prednisone for one month, joint pain became worse, I am on Nexium for the gastritis. I have been healthy except for the rheumatoid arthritis. This burning pain and shortness of breath is getting me down.
Avatar m tn Another thing to consider with the advil is that if you have high blood pressure, any type of anti inflammatory can increase your blood pressure (I have to be very careful with them - was on Celebrex for a short time until it elevated my BP to 185/105 - went back to normal as soon as I stopped the meds) - Untreated HBP can also cause memory problems sometimes (by the way, long term prednisone use can also raise your BP) Best of luck!
Avatar f tn m sure is a large part of my problem. I have been on various types of nsaids, plaquinel, prednisone, and celebrex - and a calcium channel blocker for the raynauds. I have never heard of so many drugs being used in combination before. But it makes sense for sure that they would compliment eachother. Do you find yourself with many side effects? Early on I was discouraged by a stomach ulcer and other stomach issues.
293157 tn?1285873439 Bursitis is treated with cold, rest, and elevation. So take care of that shoulder, and keep taking that prednisone - couldn't hurt, either way.
Avatar m tn Rare cases of severe hepatic reactions, including jaundice and fatal fulminant hepatitis, liver necrosis and hepatic failure (some with fatal outcome) have been reported with NSAIDs, including CELEBREX (see ADVERSE REACTIONS – post-marketing experience). In controlled clinical trials of CELEBREX, the incidence of borderline elevations (greater than or equal to 1.
Avatar f tn My doctor, at the time, diagnosed with me with anxiety and shoulder inflammation and prescribed Lexapro and Celebrex. I noticed a bit of relief with the Celebrex, but did not continue taking it. Nine months after the start of the pain, I woke up in the middle of the night in the worst pain of my life (up to that point). Several minutes later I passed out for approximately one minute. One month later I passed out twice in one week for unknown reasons.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone. I'm a 42 year old male and I've been relatively healthy, but it seems as soon as I hit 40 things started going downhill. I developed Achilles tendonitis in my left leg, which after all kinds of physio therapy and stretches has still not been resolved 2 years later. I am now developing the same issue in my right leg, and also tennis elbow in my left elbow.
Avatar f tn I am taking 200mg of Celebrex daily for knee pain and I have Hep C. My hep doc sees no problem with it. Sometimes I take two, if I am going to be skiing or riding my bike hard; I'm just hoping that's OK! My two liver biopsys (5 years apart) have been normal.
1378884 tn?1315505845 Anyway your help will provide me with conversation material with my Doc in a couple weeks. The Prednisone is really not helping the hip or back pain pain as of yet but it's early. Is celebrez ok for inflammation relief with fewer side affects? Thanks Again.
Avatar n tn I have been seeing a rheumatologist and she thinks the reason why my hands are constantly falling asleep and swollen and my upper arms are hurting is due to carpal tunnel syndrome coupled with rheumatoid arthritis. I have had tests which have eliminated a pinched nerve. I am taking prednisone, Celebrex, and Plaquenil. My doctor wants me to take Methotrexate, but I don't want to take it as it is very hard on the liver.
370181 tn?1595629445 I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis when I was 18 years old. I'm 62 now. Over the years I have been on probably everything out there, starting with gold treatments back in the early 70's. Because there wasn't much available back then, I ate aspirin like candy which helped at that time, but blew out my stomach. Then came ibuprophene and it's clones and I began taking them. I can't anymore.
Avatar n tn We discussed Celebrex in detail and the head of hepatobilliary department at Shands, who writes a lot of the research you see, said he has absolutely no problem with me taking Celebrex long term. I am a hepper with cirrhosis, I have a healthy heart and well controlled hypertension. I think as long as your mom doesn't have heart issues and she gets regular physian followups that she will benefit from Celebrex. I know I do.
Avatar m tn I had had a problem with anti flams for a while and i new i couldnt take celebrex as i had terrible cramps in my stomach. My doctor gave me the meloxicam by mistake, he done it again the other day but luckily i spotted it and he apologised and changed them to etoricoxib. Please be careful when you are given pain relievers and anti flams. Ime really worried about taking these etoricoxib even tho i was assured by the receptionist that they are not in the same family as celebrex and meloxicam..
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn A lot of you are just like me...wanting to find something to help with the pain. I am 58 yrs. old and take Celebrex for a disc problem in my back. Then, a few months ago, I noticed that my hip was paining, then my wrist, then my shoulder...My hip has become the worst - it keeps me from sleeping most nights since that is the side I sleep on. Celebrex does half the job, but I end up using Tylenol Arthritis in addition many days. My doc tried Ultram, but it made me sick.
1700643 tn?1464846682 t have potentially serious side effects like prednisone.
456090 tn?1259694837 I have been on Imuran (100mg 2x a day) and since November 2007 and varying doses of Prednisone since June 2007. However, I started having severe relapses with the diarrhea, nausea, lethargey, mouth sores and severe arthritis so they upped my Prednisone and added Celebrex and Ultracet for the pain, stiffness and swelling with the arthritis. That is not working so well now so I am going to be swtiched to Humira injections.
Avatar m tn Wow, that was a terrible experience you had! I have no allergy to Celebrex or any NSAIDS- except some of them give me stomach problems - Celebrex is the easiest on my stomach. Like I mentioned, I've had lots of cortisone injections - when you have bursitis in your shoulder the pain is horrible - you can't raise your arm. I have to get shots in my shoulders every year.
Avatar f tn Thanks...with my current diagnosis of "undifferentiated arthritis" that is lupus-like, I don't feel like I belong anywhere right now...but my former rheumy diagnosed me with SLE because I met 4 of the ACR criteria (highly positive ANA of 1:640, photosensitivity, arthritis, and mouth ulcers)...my current Rheumy changed my diagnosis because he felt my arthritis (hands, fingers & wrists in particular) is so bad that it's RA like....
Avatar f tn I was on Celebrex for 15 months (I was on treatment for 18). The problem with Celebrex is that long term use can be hard on the heart.
Avatar f tn Does it hurt in the muscle or the joints? What kind of pain is it? Is it better or worse with use? Does it hurt in the morning then get better or does it hurt less in the morning than later in the day? What have you tried to relieve the pain and what results have you had? What medication have they put you on?
Avatar f tn No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
Avatar n tn ve run competitively for years, and cycle wt train and swim. 1 and a half yrs ago diagnosed with severe cervical spinal stenoisis, compression of spinal cord. So far I've been treating it with cortisone injections and predisone, also celebrex. I've been advised to avoid surgergy at all costs. What is the most cutting edge research in alternative procedures? Is there any merit to the minimally invasive surgery , not using fusion with metal and disc removal?
Avatar f tn I know many that take the Diamox with no problems, same with Celebrex...but, u had issues with the Diamox, just as I know those that had issues with Celebrex. All u can do is try it and see how it goes for u...and do let us know : ) I pray it works well for u.
Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
471161 tn?1317190950 When I first became ill it was with some pain but mostly fatigue. Back in July of 2007 the fatigue became so bad that I was forced to stop working. All I could do for many months was make it from the bed to the couch and watch a bit of TV and sleep off and on all day, mostly falling alseep even in the middle of a 30 minute show. I was first diagnosed with Mono which later we figured out was wrong.
394687 tn?1290920840 Apparently steroids can really mess with the treatment. They started me on Celebrex the same day the started my second round of treatment and so far with the Humira, Celebrex and Methotrexate I've been able to keep my flares to a minimum. I won't lie to you.... it is a painful process but it can be done. Hope this helps some.
