Hi everyone :) My Dad recently had a stroke, during which time they found occlusion in one of his legs, causing foot pain. He's currently on Oxycodone. But I'm looking for a better pain management option(s) for him. From what I've been able to ascertain, Vicodin, Celebrex, Darvo- or Percocet have seemed viable options. Can anyone share their opinions on this???

i am so depressed and verry worried, i went today to my doctor after giving up from taking oxycodone for my severe hip and all left leg pain, my cairoprator told me it's from the herniated disk that i have in my lower back, i've been on oxycodone for 3 days now, and today i went to my health doctor and he gave me a cortisone shot in my hip, and 6 pills of celebrex and told me to take them with the oxicodone at night for 6 nights.
i take oxycodone ,fentanyl pain patch and tramadol, i have lots of inflamation of all joints in my body to name a few wrists elbows feet shoulders neck low back yet i have not been prescribed a anti inflamatory why i don't know as i have been disabled for 20 +years and only see a family nurse FNP not a real dr , so what should i ask a doctor for as i will be seeing one on monday after these lousy holidays are over

Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
My physician initially put me on Kadian and Oxycodone and I've had two spinal cortisone injections. My pain is less but stil debilitating.
Another doctor has precripton Neutotin and Flexil.
Which is preferred by most physicians and how long can I expect to be in pain.

Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?
Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
I took one Opana this morning at 6AM (20 mgs) and am trying to wait until 6 PM to take one 10 mg oxycodone. At midnight, another 10 mg oxycodone. I have been virtually useless everyday and just sit/lay around and hurt. I got the potassium, restful leg & tonic water. I cannot tell that it helps, but will do it anyway. Please look at my dosage and tell me if that seems correct to those who have been there. Thank you.
Dear Doctor. Some days after start using Celebrex I noted a loss of vision in the central area of the vision in one eye. I cant read a letter that I was looking at, but I can see the letters in both sides of the letter I was looking. If I look with that eye to a white wall I can see a yellow circle sorrounding another smaller white circle.
I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Apart from the intermittent leg/bone pain I still suffer from in the long bones (which leaves the muscles tired and painful and as if they are contracting), I had excrutiating finger pains for the first part of this year. I have been on celebrex and had cortizone injections, but still continue to suffer, especially with the bone pain. I again had a stomach attack 3 weeks ago (relived the symptoms of 2006), however, I notice an increase in bone pain.
I have severe chronic pain due to a. totally messed up back. Even with 50 mcg, 3-day Fentenyl patch, and 60 to 80 mg Oxycodone, this doesn't completely handle the pain. On a good day, the pain might be a 3 or 4. On a bad day, it's more like 8. It's mainly from Osteoarthritis in my Lumbar spine, but I also have arthritis in my hands, feet,, neck, knees, shoulders, etc., but also fron Crohn' s and Fibromyalgia.
