Avatar f tn thank you....it is more like in the lower left shoulder but above the elbow, my doctor gave me, celebrex, myonal and gabix...the meds are working on it...but still it hurts...my doctor says it must have been the nerves...i cannot work well, my work is more on encoding...whole day in the computer.
Avatar n tn I took Celebrex for a year while I was on treatment this last time at the recommendation of Shands at the University of Florida. I made the decision to come off the Celebrex on my own because of all the black box warnings that came out regarding the heart while on Celebrex. I just came back from Shands on 7/21. I was up there for another evaluation after having relapsed for a second time.

Avatar f tn sorry to jump in, but i had the impression that Celebrex was going to be taken out of the market for several reasons. It is not sold in South America because of that, since people were complaining about these symptoms you metion (upset stomach, etc) and one of them was "bouncing pain". Amy, did they put you straight on Celebrex, or did you try other mild over the counter painkillers? i suffer from both AS and MS, and i take higher doses of Advil or any other Iboprufen around.
Avatar n tn Hi Again Joy, Just another thought or actually a question. Celebrex, proxen and joflam I beleive are all antiinflammatories. Celebrex is a very potent one in fact. You weren't taking these at the same time were you? All of these can be very hard on your stomach lining and can increase gastrointestinal pain. You said you were sure it was not heart burn and indeed it may not be. But as Mollyrae suggested it could be, or at least be part of your problem.
Avatar m tn But the doctor in the article thinks that in some people it is genetic to produce the Cox-2 enzyme and those that do will get cancer or tumors while those that don't their immune systems will clear the virus. This is very interesting and thank so much for sending it.
548642 tn?1266179652 I am waiting for an apt with the rheumie. I worry about this too. I keep having elevated iron and it makes my enzymes go up - also, I have an ulcer I need to have looked at, but these things make nsaids difficult for me. At the same time, somebody needs to get the show on the road insofar as my medical folks are concerned because I came from having a negative ana pre-treatment to getting fairly severe RA early in treatment.
Avatar m tn Ime really worried about taking these etoricoxib even tho i was assured by the receptionist that they are not in the same family as celebrex and meloxicam..I really do believe that the celbrex caused you to have the bowel obstructions as with me it caused me to lose the lining of my stomach and also a huge flare up of ulcerative colitis which as soon as my own doctor the visited me i was rushed in and he told me i should never even of been given them..Anyway just be careful what you take.
Avatar n tn I have recently started having random joint pain, shoulder, wrist, hand, knee and have found that resting the joint in a splint or brace reallly helps. However, the latest pain is in my jaw - this happened last night. Anybody else had this?
Avatar m tn I stoped to use Celebrex about a week ago but the only thing is happening is that the yellow circle is increasing size in the direction of the center of the white circle. Depending in the level of illumination and the angle I look to the wall, I can see a image of a small spot exactly in the center of the vision, that has the form of a bean, inside of what I can see a series of smaler spots of yelow color.
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
561706 tn?1333947274 This isn't a question and I hope I'm not misusing this space, but I wanted to share this article I just read re: research on bipolar disorder. The study was done in Germany. I don't know how to link to it, but it's on UPI.com Science News - Bipolar Disorder Linked with Hibernation, Sept. 11, 2008. Has anyone seen anything else like this, or about using Celebrex?
1415174 tn?1453243103 I did stop the Celebrex for a montha and I still got the eye problem so I think unless Celebrex in still in my system that it is the Neurontin. I am tapering off the Neurontin and will be going to 400mg on Saturday. I think you are right I will go back on Celebrex as soon as I'm sure I don't have eye damage or that it is not the med causing the problem. See below for my details on what I have done. Sorry if it is long...Then let me know what you think if you want to.
486512 tn?1208777187 Thanks for your reply. I won't know anything from the Rheumatoligist until May 23rd. I can't take Celebrex, or any other non-steriodal, because of previous stomach surgery. I've been on Darvocet for several years for arthritis and it doesn't help the pain very much anymore. I need something stronger but hesitate to go on anything else at this point because I don't want to become dependent.
Avatar f tn They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
535822 tn?1443976780 The New York Post today has said that there is a push for the 9/11 Trial to go to Govenor's Island , A lower Manhatton Community board called on fed officails yesterday to move the trail of the terrorists to Govenor's Island and passed a resolution demanding the shift, in a hearing with Downtown Residents who loathe the idea of the threats that would ensue and the lockdown it would involve, this makes sense to me , what say you ....
Avatar f tn You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
Avatar n tn Dear Doctor I have this non stop pain in the left side of my chest from the upper back to the front in the ribcage. I cant ly on my left side because of the pain and it feels that there is not enough space for my lung and my hart beat raises. My left arm also pain and have pins and needles in my hand. I also suffer from fever for years. Most days I am feeling sick. I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month.
Avatar f tn I take celebrex and it seems to give me some relief.Because its an anti-inflammatory med, it could help a lot with swollen areas. Sometimes it's tough to tell when you are several different meds - which one helps the most? I've never had a bad reaction to celebrex and it's easier on the stomach than ones like naproxen - which caused an ulcer in lower esophogous. Hope and pray it gives you relief.
Avatar f tn The GI problems are the most common and the heart problems and rashes are listed as being in the category of SEVERE side effects of the med and if you experience any of them, to contact your doctor right away. The anemia could be a result of stomach bleeding, which is also listed as a possible side effect. I'm hoping that your doctors have already taken you off of the med, but if not, you may want to definitely consider asking them to do so based on your side effects.
Avatar n tn can i buy celebrex over the counter?
Avatar n tn I also didnt want to take the celebrex at first because of the scary side effects but in the end the benefits out weigh the risks. You need an antiinflammatory to speed the healing. It won't be needed long term.
394687 tn?1290920840 Alright! Looking good! Hang in there! Looking like your on the road to SVR!
Avatar f tn It will take 1-2 weeks for the granulation tissue to form and complete the healing process in 2 more weeks. In 4 weeks you will be completely fit and the movement at the arm will not give you stiffness. Ice Packing is good for inflammation and you can use some anti inflammatory drugs. For promotion of healing avoid lifting of weights and any other job with your left hand. Eat balanced diet with more protein for a period of few weeks. Take care!
Avatar m tn The study was published jut before COX-II inhibitor meds like Celebrex came under fire in the press so doctors just stopped prescribing them and the study was lost in the storm of controversy. If your doctor decides more surgery is your only hope, ask him about trying Celebrex and see if he can dig up the study. It's worth a try. Anything that will help keep inflammation to a minimum will help, but apparently the COX-II meds made the biggest difference.
Avatar m tn Rare cases of severe hepatic reactions, including jaundice and fatal fulminant hepatitis, liver necrosis and hepatic failure (some with fatal outcome) have been reported with NSAIDs, including CELEBREX (see ADVERSE REACTIONS – post-marketing experience). In controlled clinical trials of CELEBREX, the incidence of borderline elevations (greater than or equal to 1.
1667344 tn?1303311751 Do not take 2 at the same time. 200 mg can be taken 2 times a day but not at the same time, too hard on the stomache. And again contact your dr.
Avatar m tn re trying to achieve in my lumbar. So... is the Celebrex/Ultracet combination really something to worry about? Thanks!
