Celebrex (there is no generic but the active ingredient is celecoxib) is an expensive NSAID (non-steroidal-anti-inflammatory-drug), and there are no alternatives exactly like it, but you may be able to try something similar. Most NSAIDS follow two pathways in the body, COX-1 inhibition and COX-2 inhibition. The second one is desirable, as it decreases the inflammation. The first pathway can slowly destroy the stomach lining and over time, cause ulcers or GI bleeding.
I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.

You may not necessarily need a higher dose, sometimes a change in medication can do the trick and rotate every year or so, that can help keep your tolerance down a bit. As for Opana, it will either work great for you or not at all. It's bio-availability is only around 10-15% so it really just depends. She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.

I've tried all over the counter anti inflammatory meds and all prescription ones. I'm on Celebrex 400mg a day right now. It's working alright. I would ask them for one. I had to try almost every single one on the market before my insurance would approve Celebrex. And there is no generic so it's much more expensive.

I have neuropathic nerve pain from a botched neck spinal fusion 2013. After 2 more spinal fusions to correct the problem it was determined that the problems i am having cannot be corrected. I am left with permanent damage and neupathic nerve pain. To add to it my lower back has disc compression issues. I have been getting injections for this when its unbearable, but im apprehensive about surgical treatment.

Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?

i tried regular armour.. not the generic qualitest.. and it screwed my heart up.. i had to go to the heart hospital .. i was having arrythmias... it was very scary. so.. i am frekaed out .. about what to do.. I am currently 6-7 weeks pregnant.. and i have about 4 months left of the qualitest brand.. does anyone know of ANY other NATURAL thyroid that i can take??? i have NO idea what i am going to do.. has anyone ever switched brands ?? i am so very afraid..
