celebrex for pulled muscle

My little Staffie who is in perfect health has been diagnosed by the vet with muscle strain he was to have total rest and take anti inflamotary tablets for 1 week but he is no better.Now I have to admit the rest he had was not total he is a livewire. Please advise what I should now do.Should I cage him as I feel he will not like that at all and maybe bang against the cage.If it will work I'll buy one. or if you can suggest anything at all that will help him to get better.

Ok so I pulled a muscle in my back & my OB gave me lortab. I know she wouldn't prescribe anything that would harm me or the baby but I'm still skeptical... Is anyone else like this about doctors advice & recommendations? A first time mother & very cautious!

true, I was on celebrex for a short time and it did not work for me. I thought it was making even more edgy and did not help with my muscle & joint pain. I think just like everything else, it is different for different people. Good luck & welcome to the forum.

i currently take flexiril, i dont think its addicting at all, i actually think it helps alot with withdrawals all the rls and muscle cramps yunno, i was prescribed them for a pulled muscle in my back and they seem to work pretty good

It might help to be evaluated and then go for a few sessions and see if it helps. If it is muscle they can help you with range of motion excersizes (sp?) and even give you some to do at home before bed and in the morning to help you not feel 95 anymore, lol.

No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.

I did stop the Celebrex for a montha and I still got the eye problem so I think unless Celebrex in still in my system that it is the Neurontin. I am tapering off the Neurontin and will be going to 400mg on Saturday. I think you are right I will go back on Celebrex as soon as I'm sure I don't have eye damage or that it is not the med causing the problem. See below for my details on what I have done.
