I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
I ran a lot in high school and then stopped for a while and have been trying to get back into it on and off for years (I am 28 now). for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running.
My husband has had tendinitis for quite some time. It comes and goes. I have also had tendinitis that comes and goes away on it's own. My husband now has a lump on his elbow about the size of a marble, maybe a tiny bit bigger than a marble. I never heard of a lump forming due to tendinitis - would this be normal? The lump is hard and painful to him when I tried feeling the lump. I told him several times to call the doctor, but he thinks it's just tendinitis.
Is there anything I can do about my pain throughout my knee? I understand how to treat tendinitis, of which nothing works for me, but my knees are hurting other places as well that are hard to pinpoint. It feels rather as if it's all over.
Right now I'm taking mobic as an antiamflammatory for the tendinitis and ice them all the time.
The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
All I know is now I am afraid to go out and run for fear of tearing or snapping the Achilles tendon or doing some type of other damage. I do warm up for 5 or more minutes before I run and cool down for about the same. I do stretch, although maybe not as much as I should. I really want to be a runner, though, and have been dreaming of becoming one for many years. I do have new, much better shoes now. I'm thinking of maybe just taking this week off and seeing if it gets better.
This might not be a potential case for lawsuit. These are the known side effects of celebrex, which may be more pronounced in some individuals. Though celebrex carries the risk of gastritis and GI ulceration, like other NSAIDS; the incidence is slightly lower as compared to others. Symptom of GI reflux can be aggravated by it. Rhythm abnormalities (early de-polarisation/ re-polarisation) may not be related to celebrex use.
I just got this diagnosed and the gave me a steroid shot in the inflammed area ...the dr also gave me a script for celebrex to keep inflammation down.....i really don't feel like taking these pills because of side effects....would it really be bad for the healing if i don't take them?
