Celebrex for bursitis

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex for bursitis

celebrex

Avatar f tn So I've had hip pain for about 7 months. I went to her after months of voltaren, metsal, Celebrex etc and she says it's bursitis and that I'll need steroid injections. If it is muscle how come it only got worse the next day when I stretched? And the voltaren didn't help. Also when I'm working or doing physical activity it kinda becomes numb but the pain comes later on. In the cold it's a focused sharp pain rather than all over. Is this signs of bursitis?
293157 tn?1285873439 Hi again... well, my GP is given me 6 days of 50mg Prednisone again to help my symptoms calm down. Hopefully. I also have shoulder Bursitis...we think... and he hope the meds help this too. I have had a sore shoulder for 1.5 years..but it has really gotten bad for the past few months. Napraxen and Celebrex didn't help the inflammation. My GP is not sure its Bursitis, but it sounds like it to him. He didn't even look at it..just from what I have told him?
874521 tn?1424116797 Bless your heart. Is there something besides celebrex you can take for the inflammation and take it more frequently? It sounds like you need some regular anti-inflammatories to keep things under control.
Avatar f tn As for telling you it would be normal with celebrex, you probably knew at the time it was impossible for them to know that -- individuals differ a ton in how quickly they heal, in how severe the problem is, how long it took to develop, how carefully we stick to the treatment regimen. Celebrex isn't the safest drug out there, maybe try a different anti-inflammatory such ibuprofen or naproxen.
1903798 tn?1333905288 I left there crying and more hopeless. I have been on celebrex by PCP for the last month due to bursitis in hips and heels and it is not helping. Today after laying in bed for 2 days decided what do I have to lose I will call rheum and make an appointment. I thought maybe he did not want to treat me preop as I was on so many meds and getting ready for brain surgery and after all he was right the surgery did help but did not fix my overall pain. Today I saw my rhem and he was very nice.
Avatar m tn I've had cortisone injections many times before. Today I went in for a cortisone shot for DeQuervains Tensynovitis (sp?) The pain was severe not responding to pain meds. A few minutes after the injection that hand and arm started getting red blotches and itching...like hives. I thought of going back but I didn't want to be shunted to the ER for Benedryl so I just waited to see what happens. The hives dissipated within a half hour.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
203342 tn?1328737207 I finally was referred to a Podiatrist last month who said I had Calcaneal Bursitis. I asked for an X-Ray and just found out yesterday that I also have a heel spur. They want me to go back to the Podiatrist. Is there someone who knows more about this than I do who can help me out? I would hope it wouldn't ensure surgery because I don't want that. Is there much that can be done, then, or do I just have to live with this? It seems worse.
Avatar m tn Pain flared up again after about a month, ortho referred me to rheumatologist. More anit-inflammatories for a while. Pain disappeared for a bit but reappeared in the exact same area but the OPPOSITE knee. Same deal, more cortisone shots, etc. And just like that, pain has come and gone moving around different joints in my body. R/ elbow then L/elbow, hand, wrist, shoulder, toes. At the present time, I'm 41 and still in pain, still seeing rheumatologist. Diagnosed with RA. (have seen 4 drs.
Avatar n tn Fosamax is safe for liver patients. Celebrex in the short term (for a couple of weeks) should not be harmful. However, it is not something he wants me on for any length of time.
Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn hi Punkie..........thats a good question and I have the same pain from the buttocks to the hip and radiating to the thigh and down my legs..worse on left side........I have 2 problems and this pain could be caused by either one doctor says one thing the other says different so gets very confusing. 1. it very well could be caused by the bursitis in our hips, although from what I understand that pain should only radiate as far as the thighs and not necessarily down the whole leg. 2.
Avatar m tn I've tried all over the counter anti inflammatory meds and all prescription ones. I'm on Celebrex 400mg a day right now. It's working alright. I would ask them for one. I had to try almost every single one on the market before my insurance would approve Celebrex. And there is no generic so it's much more expensive.
874521 tn?1424116797 someone posted to me that they purchased an at home ultrasound machine for their bursitis pain, I asked the poster a few questions and didn't get a reply. has anyone else used this? and if so was it worth the money? how well did it work and where did you buy it from?
203342 tn?1328737207 I finally was referred to a Podiatrist last month who said I had Calcaneal Bursitis. I asked for an X-Ray and just found out yesterday that I also have a heel spur. They want me to go back to the Podiatrist. Can you give me your opinion on what, if anything, can be done about this? I would hope it wouldn't ensure surgery because I don't want that. Is there much that can be done, then, or do I just have to live with this? Thank you.
Avatar f tn true, I was on celebrex for a short time and it did not work for me. I thought it was making even more edgy and did not help with my muscle & joint pain. I think just like everything else, it is different for different people. Good luck & welcome to the forum.
Avatar m tn The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bursitis a few months ago ,its so painful can't sleep on my right side got a cortisone shot and that helped a Lil bit.now I turned 42 in may this year ,I swear the next I felt this horrible slight burning pain in both my arms that I feel in my shoulders and goes all the way to my hands.I'm so worried that this has something to do with bursitis, or thar my bursitis was misdiagnosed and it's arthritis.
Avatar n tn I never had high blood sugar but recently after a 10 day course of celebrex for an inflamed shoulder muscle my fasting blood sugar shot up to 137. I read that celebrex has this side effect. Is it reversible?
Avatar f tn No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
Avatar f tn . Over use injury or otherwise. I am almost certain my bursitis is septic caused by my throat ailment. I have started a regiment of amoxicillin per the doctor.
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
