Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and ultram

celebrex

Avatar f tn I havea alot of pain, he gave celebrex to take and it ate up stomaach and my GERD worse so I told him that. His plan is start me on Ultram. I have never taken the stuff and I have heard people say it was the worse thing to w/d from. I take that back I did have ultram about a year ago and when I took them I could not tell I had taken anything. I am naive in asking what were the problems with the ultram? And why so hard to w/d from.
1255658 tn?1269359477 But I am not a lost cause he said. He is a pain managment doctor and I am so glad I have him. He gives me celebrex for my athrities, zanafelx for the muscle spasms (I have been on them for years). Coming off all them lortabs and the venlafaxine and gabapentin was extreamly dangerous (also on them for years). I must only take 40 mgs of lortabs (at 5mgs a time) for 1 week. I then go to 30mgs, 20 mgs, 10mgs... Then we work on a new medicine that has no narcotic for the pain.
517902 tn?1314715429 What are good things I can do to help relive my severe back pain? I have chronic back pain and have had for yrs...so far they havent found the problem but right now Im pre-menstrual and the pain is at it's worst! Do I use hot or cold packs? what else can I do? I take the dogs for a walk often but sometimes that makes it worse? Right now I take Celebrex & Ultram...yeah, not helping.
Avatar f tn Anyways, for the past few years I have been really struggling with pain more so even though I have had pain since I was a kid, and started Ultram about a year and a half ago. I did 3 epidurals on my neck but no real help. 800 mgs of ibuprofen takes the edge barely off but not much. Teamed the Ultram up with Tylenol and I didn't notice a huge difference either.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and Ultram have very little if any effect and I have been told my the family doctor that Ibuprofen, Aleve and Celebrex are now unhealthy for my eye condition. Any suggestions as to what can be taken for pain that won't interfere with the current eye treatments?
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar f tn Hi all! I am new to this forum and have been reading all of your messages. A lot of you are just like me...wanting to find something to help with the pain. I am 58 yrs. old and take Celebrex for a disc problem in my back. Then, a few months ago, I noticed that my hip was paining, then my wrist, then my shoulder...My hip has become the worst - it keeps me from sleeping most nights since that is the side I sleep on.
Avatar f tn using one addictive drug to get off another is a very bad idea the last thing you want to do is end up addicted to the tram turst me I have been there its not pretty ...
Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
Avatar f tn t take Vicadin either I got total insomnia from it. The Tramadol, I was ok for a while then got shortness of breath and anxiety and then insomnia. I took it for a month and was on the lowest dose once a day and I had withdrawal for 5 days. One day I had severe back pain ( much higher than my normal back pain), slight tremors, overall feeling of sickness, shortness of breath etc. I see no way of getting out of withdrawal. But you are strong you can get off of it.
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Avatar f tn m taking/have tried taking ibuprophen, tylenol, celebrex, and lodine for the NSAIDs, and percocet, vicodin and ultram besides -- none of it is working. i'm at the point where i'm just taking something to sleep so i dont have to deal with it until i can see the doc. thanks!

Anyway I did not know ultram was also something you can get hooked on. He told me to take 4 50mgs a day. Also to take my oxy 5 times I take the 20'mgs. I am going to start to tapper tom a.m. I dont want to take the ultram if I can get hooked on it also. Please help!! I don't know weather to take it or not.
1415174 tn?1453243103 It is like an aura or wavy moving lines that last about a half hour and are in each eye. Has anyone had this from Neurontin (or Celebrex). I am tapering off of Neurontin for that reason and would like your opinion as to how to get off of it will less side effects. I am at 500mg now per day. I am now trying 100mg per week as I get ill feeling, insomnia and anxiety. What do you all normally do?
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
Avatar f tn THIS IS MORE DETAIL FROM MY ORIGINAL POST, MY ANA HAD BEEN POSITIVE FOR ALMOST 20YEARS, ACCORDING TO MY RUMMY IT ALWAYS WILL, THEY'VE NEVER TOLD ME THE LEVEL. IN 2002 WHEN I HAD MY FUSION SURGERY, THE DRS TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO BE ONE OF THE STRONEST WOMEN THEY HAD EVER SEEN, TO HAVE THAT MUCH DAMAGE TO MY C4AND 5. THESE DAMN FLARES HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN. WITH ALL THE OTHER FLARES, EXCEPT MY NECK THE WAS NEVER ANY JOINT INVOLVEMENT, EXCEPT PROTEIN IN MY URINE.
203342 tn?1328737207 The pharmacy noticed I had an allergic reaction to sulfa before and said that Celebrex contains sulfa in it. I told them I just broke out in a rash so they gave me the prescription. Now I'm wondering if I should take it and risk a break out again or take the Motrin and hope things will be ok with that. I just don't know what's best! As you can see, this is a bit of a quandary. I'm hoping the good doctor on here might be able to help me out? What should I do? Thank you so much.
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 200 mg of Ultram for 6 months for herniated discs and leg pain. I was under the impression that they were a non-narcotic pain reliever and weren't addictive. However, I found out I'm pregnant last week so I discontinued the medication. This caused me to experience severe withdrawal symptoms along with the back pain. I was concerned the withdrawal would cause a miscarriage so I continued to take them at half the usual dose.
Avatar m tn good drug and bad drug both are addictive. Hrdo gives more pain releif with less bad effects but both have them. Tramadol ultram is just no good.
Avatar f tn I took Ultram for a while and getting off of the medication was horrible....I have chills and sweating, restless legs and creepy crawlies...I could not concentrate and my heart was pounding in my chest for 4 days stright...It was the worst...If you can talk to your doctor before taking this medicine...espically the er ultram....It is highly addictive and despite what people say it is hard to get off of.
747443 tn?1233024111 I went back to the Rhemy last week and he put me on Sulfasalazine for the RA. My hands are beginning to twist and knot up. my elbows are knotted up also. You'll find the right combo of meds, just call your doc.
