Celebrex and morphine

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and morphine

celebrex

Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
Avatar m tn I was shocked because ive gone to the hospital before for my heart and all they gave me was a motrin for chest pain. Morphine??? And then they send you home with countless numbers of prescriptions. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack! Some people really need pain medications and I think they are good for people who have had terrible surgeries like yourself... but to give out these meds for people with minor injuries? I am sorry that your doctor is being that way...
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn I was on fentynol for three years 150mcg/day, and quit those cold turkey. I was grumpy and tired for three days and that was about it. A month later I was put on oxy and have been on it ever since- (480g/day now) ten years now.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar f tn I have been going through hell parden my french since Nov. I have been very ill and now I have been having N/V since Nov. It has boiled down to the Morphine I was taking. I am about weaned off of that and I will have to try another long acting drug. God help me, I will be on it the rest of my life. I am 70 years old so I am not concerned about addiction to any drug, I only want to find one I can take that will not make me sick. Celebrex really helps my pain also.
Avatar f tn Adhesions generally don't show up on imaging studies. If they cause a bowel obstruction, that will show up of course. Scans that show organs in a place other than expected would also cause a doctor to consider adhesions as the problem. This happens a lot with ovaries and even the bladder. Right now we just don't have the technology for decent diagnostic tests so docs have to go on patient history, symptoms and gut instinct.
Avatar f tn Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying. I thought that was breakthrough pain was. It almost doesn't apply to me as the pain is so high and so constant. I get up in the morning and it's really high and it gets worse as the day goes by (and this can be with me simply sat or led on the sofa - any kind of movement (slightly turning my head, moving my arm, just any very slight movement really) increases it.
Avatar f tn No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
Avatar n tn I had them flare up with my second pregnancy (I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd due in a week). I too went to the hospital they gave me Celebrex which was the only thing that helped the pain. I can tell you I was terrified I thought I was losing the baby. Eventually the fibroid died off (I have seen it on my current ultrasounds and it's completely calcified) and the pain went away.
Avatar f tn I am on chronic pain management for bad arthritis in my spine and finbromyalgia. I take 210mg of morphine daily and 200mg of Celebrex daily. I also have regular epidurals in my spine. Is it okay to have this abnormal rhythym? Am I at risk of going into a rhythym that will result in death?
Avatar f tn hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
Avatar n tn I have the same problem with my shoulder and did the steroid injection and am on celebrex. I completely understand your fears. I also didnt want to take the celebrex at first because of the scary side effects but in the end the benefits out weigh the risks. You need an antiinflammatory to speed the healing. It won't be needed long term.
Avatar m tn If not for my regular Dr. helping me and being my friend,I would have.I am on Morphine and other pain pills to control the pain I am in now.No other Dr. know what to do or even want to treat me.I have been operated on 3 times in all to clean up the mess, but nothing has helped the pain.I know something more is wrong.I was high up at my job,but had to retire due to this mess.I have begged for help, but know one dares to help anymore.
Avatar m tn 2 times and less than 3 times the upper limit of normal) of liver associated enzymes was 6% for CELEBREX and 5% for placebo, and approximately 0.2% of patients taking CELEBREX and 0.3% of patients taking placebo had notable elevations of ALT and AST. A patient with symptoms and/or signs suggesting liver dysfunction, or in whom an abnormal liver test has occurred, should be monitored carefully for evidence of the development of a more severe hepatic reaction while on therapy with CELEBREX.
1667344 tn?1303311751 Can I take two celebrex pills? They are 200mg. I still have some aches and it has been all ready about 4 hours ago I took 200mg.
Avatar f tn Celebrex is a NSAID... for some it may be ok and others not..largely depends on the condition of your liver and other health factors that the prescribing doctor should be aware of ... here is a past discussion on pain meds. Will http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Hepatitis-C/Article-on-pain-meds/show/1552015?
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
