Celebrex and lupus

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and lupus

celebrex

Avatar n tn My wife has been Dx'ed with Lupus for a while now. She initially did chemo and steroids to get everything under control, and while she is usually fine, she does deal with a lot of fatigue. She started having noticeable cardiac issues (flutters, racing, chest pain) over the summer, which eventually resulted in a Holter monitor. She had her f/u with her cardiologist yesterday and was diagnosed with PVCs.
486512 tn?1208777187 I have lots of pain in my joints and now many muscle spasms, for which I take Celebrex and Methocarbomal. they help a lot, but the pain pills (Darvocette) work for the rest of the pain. Has you doc decided whether or not you have Lupus? I have Lupus (SLE) and Sjogren's Syndrome. I don't have a clue about your lumps. I did see a news blip yesterday about a man with HPV that caused lumps to grow alllllllll over him, to the point of making him look like a tree trunk.
Avatar f tn I see ou wrote this a while back but I am hoping you are still here and will see my question. I am supposed to start taking Cellcept for Lupus and I can't find anyone who can tell me anything about how they did on it. Are you there? Did you have any side effects while on it?
Avatar f tn Can you send me the dosage of both meds thanks and any other thing you think can help my wife has lupus and arthritis and the doctor dose not talk about new meds for both .
Avatar f tn My wife has been suffering from joint pain and a rash. The rash will come and go daily on different parts of her body. If the rash is close to a joint, it will cause severe pain. We have had all types of test, all come back normal. Have went to three different Doctors, they make her feel like there is nothing wrong with her. She is crying alot now, and talking about not wanting to go on with life. It is putting a big stress on are family. I do not know what else to do.
17956761 tn?1461821678 I had shingles two years ago as well and have been diagnosed with PHN because of it. Lupus and Scleroderma run in my family. Alright now onto the question...for years on and off I would get hit with major fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and low grade fevers. I've had mouth and nose ulcers as well. Every time we would just assume it was the Crohn's disease until my Crohn's went into remission 4 years ago.
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
1222368 tn?1266947996 I am a 37 yr. old female, married with 3 children. After the birth of my first daughter (12 yrs. ago) I began to have symptoms...joint pain, facial rash, and hair loss. I have seen a chiropractor for about 10 yrs. to deal with the joint pain. About a yr. ago I started meds to treat the "rosacea" on my face with no improvement. The rash looks malar but had Lupus Band Test done and that was negative.
Avatar m tn I was tested positive for the Lupus antibody, so it was assumed I had Lupus related arthritis. However, none of the medicine (celebrex and steroids) worked. The rheumatologist did an MRI and discovered no problem with my joints and concluded that whatever was going on was not arthritis or lupus related. My regular Dr now has my on Lexapro and is thinking some form of fibromyalgia, but the medicine is not doing anything to relieve the symptoms either.
Avatar f tn See if they will at least give you the Celebrex, or Celebrex and plaquenil together for a couple months. The celebrex helps within 24 hours. But after about a year, you'll find it isn't helping anymore and you'll have to stop it for about 2 weeks. If you aren't on Plaquenil when you stop that, you will HURT and wish you were dead. Even if the Rheumy doesn't think you have Lupus, ask for the Plaquenil anyway. Remember, I went nine years.
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
17956761 tn?1461821678 I went to the doctor and he said to look out for the shingles rash again and put me on Celebrex. The Celebrex worked for a couple of days and then it got worse. Much much worse. My joints were feeling like they had Charlie Horses inside the bones. My left ankle, knee, hip, and wrist were really cramping. He told me to stop the Celebrex. The pain subsided a little but my arm pain was back. Wednesday I was in the sun all day and then Thursday all hell broke loose. My arm started to REALLY hurt.
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
482543 tn?1248355421 When I looked up Plaquenil it says that it is used to treat RA and Lupus. So everything he has said and put me on points to RA. I am wondering if maybe some of the other tests were negative and he is reluctant to give me a diagnosis of RA. So he is calling it "autoimmune arthritis". Have you ever heard of that term? There is nothing on the web about it.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar f tn I live in pain everyday. I have two doctors. My Rheumatologist takes care of my autoimmune diseases with vitamins. My Neurologist takes care of the pain from Lupus and Sjogren's with Gabapentin. I suffer from tremors now and am taking Primidone to stop them. It doesn't always work. My GP takes care of my Hashimoto's with Levothyroxine. I also have high cholesterol and am taking Atorvastatin. I no longer have an immune system, which really frightens me.
Avatar f tn Nowadays severity is increasing massaging those doesn’t cure symptoms and sometimes end up taking anti-inflammatory ( neproxene or celebrex ) which I got from previous visits to drs. Now the stomach are inflammation is persistent and ankle gets swelling more often and doesn't go away with stretching or messaging. So far, I have been to Couple of physicians - suggested see ortho orthopedic - they said nothing mechanically wrong.
687740 tn?1227107014 symptoms I have are bilateral achy joints in wrists, elbows, and knees, alopecia, fatigue, nausea, tingling and burning in palms of hands and slightly in feet. all the symptoms are persistant and subside slightly with celebrex (ibu 800 four times daily helped too, but too high of dose). I read that if you are too early in your disease state that the ANA test and RH factor will be negative, is that true? Any idea how far in your disease you need to be to get accurate trust-worthy results?
Avatar f tn During one of the ER visits the dr said I have costochondritis and prescribed celebrex and Percocet for the pain.
471161 tn?1317190950 The thing bothering me in the back of my mind is my cardiologist said my heart is very strong and not to worry (when I was in the hospital) and he told me the Internest just had to get my lupus under control. I am taking Prednisone and Imuran and Celebrex to try to do that. But when I was in the hospital his PA told me I had some vaculitis. He never said that.
Avatar f tn Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
