I have tried Certo and grape juice, tylenol arthritis, Celebrex, and the off brand of something similar. So far I have found that Celebrex works the best, especially when paired with physical exercise. Lifting light weights, doing push-ups on a wall, even just arm circles and stretching. It sounds like it would make it worse, but it actually helps a lot!
I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in ..
They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
This pain has been going on for 4 months! I tried doing cardio exercise with weights and this pain then begin! Had X-ray of ch st, ekg and blood work all normal! Hurts to touch or move torso , lifting arms up, or a deep breath at time! Taking Celebrex to reduce inflammation! Not really helping! Ice does help for a short time! I keep pressing on area, and may not be helping! What do you recommend trying?
I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
So I went to my doc, he found a slightly swollen lymph node and ordered me some antibiotics (which I have finished taking) and celebrex (still taking). The pain has now changed, it feels more localized in my armpit now instead of upper chest above left breast. It is a radiating pain I feel when I have my arm in front of me like when I sit at my computer or drive. I have done minimal working out because I worried it would stress it out too much and apply heat presses occasionally.
Also be sure to eat healthy, push the good fluids, and exercise. I feel exercise made the biggest difference. It helps your body to start producing those natural endorphins again. (While using our body stops producing the "feel good" chemicals because it is getting the "feel good" feeling from the opiate. Once we stop the opiate it takes our body time to start producing again and this is what causes withdrawal.
Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
I am not overweight and try to exercise when I can, but I get these attacks through my liver and out my back (right sided) that are so severe and excruciating. I cannot tolerate solid food (of any kind) and I am left with being stuck on a liquid diet for weeks (not fun). I am not a heavy drinker as I find that liquids of any sort do not absorb into my body (I drink socially, 3 drinks when out once every 3 months).
hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
I have the same problem with my shoulder and did the steroid injection and am on celebrex. I completely understand your fears. I also didnt want to take the celebrex at first because of the scary side effects but in the end the benefits out weigh the risks. You need an antiinflammatory to speed the healing. It won't be needed long term.
Try liproxenol. I've tried it and it helped so much in my weight loss. Didn't experience any side effects either.
In 4 weeks you will be completely fit and the movement at the arm will not give you stiffness. Ice Packing is good for inflammation and you can use some anti inflammatory drugs.
For promotion of healing avoid lifting of weights and any other job with your left hand. Eat balanced diet with more protein for a period of few weeks. Take care!
