Celebrex and dvt

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and dvt

celebrex

Avatar n tn He has had blood tests, x rays, cortisone shots, and a bone scan. He can not tolerate celebrex, maybe because he is on warfin for a DVT he developed after his second surgery. The doc said today maybe we should get a second opinion but he feels the only fix is another hip replacment, For now my husband is on Tramadol for the pain, hopefully he can still work. Any one who has a similiar experience?
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
Avatar f tn It was not painful, just felt heavy. I thought it might be a DVT. It was late and I had no desire to go to the ER, so I took 2 aspirin and went to bed. The next morning, the swelling was gone, but I went to see my GP anyway. She sent me for an ultrasound, which showed nothing. A blood test showed that I had Factor V Leiden (heterozygous). I continued to take aspirin for two weeks and had no recurrence to date, despite several very long distance flights.
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
Avatar f tn When my check up came, they admitted me into hospital and took me off Xarelto and put me on Innohep injections for another 3 months. I felt these were working great but in last week I can feel a twinge behind my knee again. Luckily I've only 2 weeks to go until I see a specialist. Every morning when I wake up and try to move it feels like there's someone sitting on my pelvis and I'm ready to explode, but once I move and sit up the pain is gone.
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
1090423 tn?1286287650 hi , thank you 4 your reply , my doctor is not very good , the dvt was found by accident , i did not have any swelling in my leg at all , i went to the doctor with a constant headache , i have had this headache for 9 weeks now , it never goes , anyway since being on warfarin it has got steadily worse my ears pop and i have pain in my neck and shoulders and across my middle back , the bottom of my back is really painful, i went back to the doctors last week because both of my calfs were hurting
1389014 tn?1280136933 I agree with the other ladies. You need to call your dr right away to rule out anything serious.
1090423 tn?1286287650 but a health care provider told me when my dvt treatment clexane and warfarin was started that my headaches would go , and they did , i just hope they stay away
Avatar f tn But then last night as I was walking I felt a mild sharp pain on the back of my left knee that lasted for a second then went away. I suddenly felt light-headed and somewhat dizzy and my heart started beating faster and I couldn't breathe like usual. My left leg felt really tired as I was sitting down. But today I feel fine. I don't feel any pain on my leg. I have already gone to an internist and he didn't think there was anything wrong and said it was very unlikely to be DVT.
Avatar m tn I also forgot to mention that I have lost something around 40-45 lbs in the last 2 1/2 months. I was sick and had my gallbladder out and decided to turn my diet around. I eat and I eat healthy. My doc mentioned that this may affect how my body feels when I sleep. I'm not sure what he really means though.
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for responding I feel somewhat better knowing that this is more common than they say. The injections were a bit of a fright. I did not expect it just two days after being told I was pregnant. I did exactly what you did I think which is why the pain went to my groin. Spent most of year finishing post grad not really moving about and then fully active. And I ignored thinking mm no just being overly anxious and annoying. And it just didn't go away and become worse.
Avatar n tn I have a fractured acetabulum, left and right fractures of superior pubic ramus, and inferior pubic ramus. I take Celebrex and 2-4 Tramadols to get through a day. I have a very physical job and have pain that worsens with walking and lifting. I especially have pain turning in bed( which results in lack of sleep) and stairsteps, bleachers,. This has been so long , I am beginning to think I will never get over this injury. Can anyone send me in a direction for recovery?
Avatar m tn If any such cyst ruptures or bursts it can cause calf pain, redness, swelling and can lead to deep vein thrombosis or DVT. It can compress vascular structures and lead to leg edema. Get an ultrasound done and do discuss your queries with the treating doctor. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
Avatar n tn Anyways, if it grows more painful, it could be a sign of DVT and you should get it checked out as soon as possible
Avatar f tn dvt however the most common diagnostic test is duplex ultrasound of the veins to determine the extent of dvt and the location. Those diagnostic features help to determine treatment. The risk of dvt is pulmonary embolus ( a piece of the clot breaks off and goes to the lung or heart) which can be fatal. Many people with dvt have no symptoms prior to PE.
