I have been taking 40mg Omeprazole for a year now for a stomach ulcer and because I also take celebrex 200mg for osteoarthritis I also have diverticulitis/ diverticulosis and had 30 polyps removed from my colon dec.
take aciphex daily which is very expensive and bentyl 3 times a day for bloating and still can not manage the gas and bloating I also take a lot of gas-X with little help. Milk seems to help some all other tests have come back negative. When I was first diagnosed with IBS/D it was called spastic colon if that makes a difference for those that don't know IBS/C is with constipation IBS/D is with diarrhea.
I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in ..
They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
From the symptoms I really thought I might be pregnant, bloated, nausea, diarrhea, light headed, exhausted all the time, but I knew I couldnt be with birth control and I had a test before the BC. Turns out its diverticulitis. Symptoms to me seem very similar.
Never had a child though so I cant say for sure.

I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
I filled the prescription but before I could start taking it, I had another diverticulitis attack. I am currently taking flagyl and levaquin for the diverticulitis. I am also on omeprazole daily. My question is how do I manage these two conditions when one requires a high fiber diet and the other a low fiber.
About 3 weeks ago I had a sudden onset of pain in my stomach between my ribcage and my hip, left side, halfway between my naval and side. Pain got worse over the next few hours. Called doctor on call (it was evening) and he suggested I go in to ER to have it checked out, could be kidney stone. Urinalysis came back ok so they wanted to do CT with contrast instead of no contrast to check for diverticulitis. In the meantime my white blood count came back a little high.
Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
I also suffer from diverticulosis and had multiple episodes of diverticulitis, which led to colon resection. I think the problem with strawberries is that the skin has little seeds on them. I have been staying away from them for that reason. Hope this helps...
No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
Does anyone know about diverticulitis? I had pain on my left side and trouble pooping and went to the ER. They took a CT scan and said I had diverticulitis with inflammation. I was given antibiotics, and later told to get IV antibiotics. But when I was in the hospital the doctor said I was schedule for a surgery consultation, and no one told me they were considering surgery. I got scared. The surgeon said she wanted to take out part of my sigmoid colon and give me a colostomy bag.
My main symptoms have been itching all over, particularly neck and inner arms, and other soft tissue areas including my ayes, which are itchy and red at all times. Allergies, sunburn, heat bite, dermatitis, etc. have been eliminated. Could it be that these symptoms are caused by the diverticulitis, or by the gallstones? Also, is there a way to heal the gallbladder without surgery? Someone in my family had gallbladder surgery and now suffers of constant diarrhea.
it is only on my lower left side and is not getting any better. what is this if the dr supposedly says its not diverticulitis.
hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
