celebrex and diovan

I am a 43yo f, normal weight and BMI. I have a strong hx of heart disease in both parents (stenting, Afib and MI, strong sib hx of hypertension too). Was dx with post partum cardiomyopathy, then PE in Dec 2005/Jan 2006. I have HTN is well controlled. Asthma, an unconfirmed dx of inclusion body myositis or polymyositis (dx at the same time during hospitalizations), I was on steroid treatment, so did not do the muscle biopsy. All dx were backed up by clinical picture and bloodwork.

The last 2-3 weeks, I have had what we call cotton mouth, where everything is dry and my tongue feels as if it been burned. Its hurts no matter how soft or hard the food is and matter if its water or soda that I'm drinking. Could this be from the meds or is this side effects still coming from the RAI treatment.

Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.

I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.

I am taking 160 mg Diovan for high blood pressure, as well as 20 mg Levostatin for high cholesterol. I believe that I have ed caused by the Diovan. Is it safe to take ed drugs as well?

My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!

s on lipitor 80mg once daily, metoprolol 25mg (2x daily), diovan, and aspirin 81mg. any comment on this prescription mix? thanks so much for your advice.

3 months ago I was at 230lbs, and I would always get these pains in my chest and my heart would beat fast. Current weight 207lbs. Cardiologist said I have too many extra beats and put me on Atenolol on Tuesday. But he doesn't know about my history of HBP from my family doctor. My BP had always been high since last year. Untill now my Family doctor put me on Diovan 80mg plus Cardiologist put me on Atenolol 50mg. Can High Blood pressure cause PVC's?

Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.

She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.

my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!

Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.

I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.

t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.

I had taken Toprolol when much younger and in normal sinus rhythm (then it too was 50mg SR) and it had no side effects that I can recall, I was still running for exercise. You might want to discuss using a calcium channel blocker to lower blood pressure. In all my comments are made with no knowledge of "diovan" and its side-effects. Good luck in finding a way to keep the BP normal, that is an important issue.

I am taking Amlodipine (Norvasc) 5mg and occasionally my legs and ankles (on both legs and never the leg itself) will swell to the point that my shoes will no longer fit, but the the swelling will go down for a while (a week, two weeks perhaps) until it happens again.

Part 1: I am a 54 year old male. I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I made a big mistake of stopping the Diovan all together.

I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.

Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.

I was slowly weened off Toprol xl and Diovan - about 8 months ago - and put on ccb -verapamil and dieretic maxzide iv been on them for about 4 months - and have been having problems, such as ankles swelling. and closeing throat when eatting! as well bloating belly conditions. over the past month iv noticed my face is always red in color. and my left eye has been twitching off and on.. I seem to dehydrate rapid and cant hydrate fast enough - even when I cutt down on the dieretic med.

I am 73 and take Warfarin for atrial fibrillation. I also had a hip fracture nine months ago. I also take a blood pressure medication, Diovan, and Metopropolol 25 mg. Would any of these drugs cause the elevation in liver enzymes?
