I am having trouble finding out what is a safe maximum dosage of Diamox for psuedotumor cerebri. When I had asked my daughters neurologist this question, she said there is no maximum dosage which I found hard to believe that there wouldn't be a max dose on any medication.
My daughter is 15 yrs old and had been prescribed a total of 2500 mg per day divided into 3 doses.
Does anyone know the max dose for diamox?

Well then I would go by what it says on the bottle. Natural remedies are unregulated but Melatonin is generally a safe thing to take with reliable brand and quantities but I don't know if it is for children. I usually suggest to people that they ask their doctor about the medication Rozerem which is a sleep aide that is safe and effective and works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle but I don't know if that's meant for children either.

My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.
The doctor said that because his prescription is so severe, he wants him to wear the glasses all the time and to cover his good eye with a patch for 8 hours a day for a year and half at least, which it bothers him tremendously. Any other suggestion in this matter?
How do I get my son to wear the patch? and do you think it is too early for an astigmatism to be detected? Will his vision benefit from the glasses and the patch? Any advice on how to get him used to them?

Its rare but possible for a child to have bipolar disorder.
