Cefzil dosage for children

Common Questions and Answers about Cefzil dosage for children

cefzil

Avatar f tn I have for one never heard of Cefzil being used for eye infections, let alone a stye. I thought all I needed would be the ointment. And Cefzil concerns me with all the bad reviews I have read on it... Thoughts?
Avatar n tn If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.) When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.
Avatar f tn My doctor was hoping the allergist would help guide us for future treatments. I am fearful for any infection like strep throat, ear or skin infections, we have run out of options.
Avatar n tn Children weighing 88 pounds and over should follow the recommended adult dose schedule. Children weighing under 88 pounds will have their dosage determined by their weight.
Avatar f tn He put me on antibiotics and recommended I use this soap called cefzil and right away I noticed the boils(purple/redish bumps that have pus in them) lighten up as for the pimples I use oxypads and for everytime I use the restroom I wipe with a babywipe. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn After seeing my dentist for a routine examination earlier today, I was referred to an oral surgeon for removal and biopsy of the aforementioned lesion. It is currently nothing that is bothersome, although this past month I developed an edematous cheek (possible sinus infection - of which I have never had) and was placed on cefzil. I have responded well to the antiobiotic and the edema is starting to subside. The lesion did bother me at the onset of infection - more an awareness, than pain.
907968 tn?1292622204 I imagine they're trained to know which medications work best for which heart problems. As for dosage, I'm not sure. If you look at a PDR the book mentions standard dosages for children, adults and geriatric folks. I know with the antibiotics I use at work we choose which antibiotic works best for which type of injury or specific bacteria. I always calculate dosage according to species (mammals have a different calculation compared to birds or reptiles) and weight.

Avatar n tn I am having trouble finding out what is a safe maximum dosage of Diamox for psuedotumor cerebri. When I had asked my daughters neurologist this question, she said there is no maximum dosage which I found hard to believe that there wouldn't be a max dose on any medication. My daughter is 15 yrs old and had been prescribed a total of 2500 mg per day divided into 3 doses. Does anyone know the max dose for diamox? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Well then I would go by what it says on the bottle. Natural remedies are unregulated but Melatonin is generally a safe thing to take with reliable brand and quantities but I don't know if it is for children. I usually suggest to people that they ask their doctor about the medication Rozerem which is a sleep aide that is safe and effective and works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle but I don't know if that's meant for children either.
Avatar f tn My 10 year old has been diagnosed at a childrens hospital with asthma about 4 years ago As an infant I had been given an inhaler and mask for her because she was wheezing after throwing up her formula which she did often .
Avatar n tn My 11 year old son is currently taking Dexadrine. He has slowly increased to 20 mg in the morning. His teacher and myself (my son too) have noticed a postitive change in his work output at school and during homework sessions. Two of the side effects are of great concern to me. My son can't sleep until well after 10:30 pm. (we are trying Melatonin, but haven't found the right dosage). The other side effect that is most troubling is the loss of appetite.
556935 tn?1215720270 25 mg of Xanax. Everything we have read says that it has not been evaluated for safety and effectiveness in children and is not generally prescribed for them. What we need to know is, is it ok for her to take them? Should we take her to see another Doctor and have something else given to her or should my husband speak to her counselor about the supposed symptoms, since they aren't something that we have ever encountered when she has been with us? Please give us some advice.
Avatar n tn The doctor said that because his prescription is so severe, he wants him to wear the glasses all the time and to cover his good eye with a patch for 8 hours a day for a year and half at least, which it bothers him tremendously. Any other suggestion in this matter? How do I get my son to wear the patch? and do you think it is too early for an astigmatism to be detected? Will his vision benefit from the glasses and the patch? Any advice on how to get him used to them?
Avatar f tn Toddlers tend to put their hands in their mouths alot ( and my son ***** his thumb when he is sleepy).I wash his hands often but he still gets these throat infections. Except for a period when he went about 4 months without any problem, he gets the infections about every three to four weeks or so. On occasion, if his throat is only a little red, he will get over it on his own. But more often that not, his throat is very infected and ulcers develop so that he needs an antibiotic.
Avatar f tn Its rare but possible for a child to have bipolar disorder. If he is diagnosed with Asperger's that is a developmental disability and although those can have behavioral problems that can be severe they don't generally respond to medication like psychiatric disabilities such as bipolar or ADHD but both diagnoses can occur together. They need to provide specific diagnoses as for follow up and treatment and you should discuss this further with them.
