Common Questions and Answers about Cefzil pediatric dosage

cefzil

Avatar f tn A few days ago I woke up with pain on my lower eyelid, on the outer corner. It lasted all day, and then when I went to sleep, I woke up with no pain. That day I was fine. So I went to sleep and yesterday woke up with the inner corner in pain and swollen. It hurt all day and today I woke up with it even more swollen and red and painful.
Avatar f tn My eight year old is allergic to amoxicillin, zithromax, clindamycin, and cefzil. We have seen an allergist, and he said there are no tests for antibiotics and that "we have a problem." Can someone please guide me in what to do next? My doctor was hoping the allergist would help guide us for future treatments. I am fearful for any infection like strep throat, ear or skin infections, we have run out of options.
Avatar n tn 4) and TSH=0.783 (0.3-4.0), accordingly the pediatric endocrinologist of the hospital suggested reduction in terms of giving the dosage 5/7 days a week. Once more we desided to get another opinion. The new pediatric endocrinologist believed there is a high possibility of transient hypothyroidism (not that it matters) and suggested the continuation of dosage at 7/7 days with 25T4 tablets. The last blood test (same molecular lab) after a 2 week period showed the following values fT4= 1.99 (0.6-2.
Avatar n tn A child who takes 5 ml of the 250mg/5ml dose, for example, is receiving 250 mg of amoxicillin. The recommended pediatric dosage varies from 25 mg/kg per day to 45 mg/kg per day, depending on the underlying infection, according to Rx List. The suspension should be shaken well and measured with a marked measuring spoon to ensure that the right dose is given. Regular silverware should not be used to measure medication doses, warns Drugs.com.

Avatar m tn Those are safe for him at 1/2 human adult dose. Simethicone (the active ingredient in gas-x) also comes in a pediatric form. If you get the pediatric form dose to effect. Hiccups are due to spasms of the diaphragm, however and getting rid of gas may not be effective, but it is worth a try.

Avatar n tn We are in NC and fortunately have been referred to a great pediatric Endo at Duke. I have seen mention of Pediatric Endo at Texas Childrens Hospital (not sure how far that is for you). We will be starting medication as soon as our local pharmacy can get it in. I hope she responds well. I have been looking into the possibility of Thyroidectomy or Radioiodine Treatment if indicated.

Avatar f tn Anyway, he told me that some people just carry this kindof staff. He put me on antibiotics and recommended I use this soap called cefzil and right away I noticed the boils(purple/redish bumps that have pus in them) lighten up as for the pimples I use oxypads and for everytime I use the restroom I wipe with a babywipe. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn It is currently nothing that is bothersome, although this past month I developed an edematous cheek (possible sinus infection - of which I have never had) and was placed on cefzil. I have responded well to the antiobiotic and the edema is starting to subside. The lesion did bother me at the onset of infection - more an awareness, than pain. That could be in part due to the fact that it has grown significantly in the last 3/52.
Avatar m tn My husband was diagnosed with a condition called neurogenic cough. It has been described as a chronic cough where the nerve that provides sensation to the voicebox and is responsible for triggering the cough reflex has been injured, usually by a virus. When this happens, the nerve's level of sensitivity before it triggers the cough reflex becomes markedly reduced; in other words, it becomes hyper-sensitive.
Avatar n tn Is it normal to have all of these other issues so early on? Does anyone know a good pediatric endocrinologist in Tennessee?
Avatar f tn t remember) was inconclusive for tumors. She was then sent to a pediatric endocrinologist. The endocrinologist followed her for a year and could find no reason for elevated estrogen levels. Her levels did eventually drop to normal after time also. The endocrinologist then discharged her from his care, and he then moved. My question I have now, she suffers significantly with ADHD, and has days when short term memory is difficult for her.
Avatar f tn after a month her TSH was normal but FT4 and total t4 were high, so our doctor advised us to reduce her dosage to 12.5 mcg. she is 4 months old now, recent blood test done shows - TSH - 26.11 (normal 0.25- 5.0 ) Ft4 - 13.87 (normal 9.0-20) total t4 - 110.88 ( 60-120) our doctor told us continue with the 12.5 dosage, since ft4 and total t4 are normal not to worry about TSH.... we consulted another paediatric endocrinologist and he says to increase the dosage...
Avatar n tn I am having trouble finding out what is a safe maximum dosage of Diamox for psuedotumor cerebri. When I had asked my daughters neurologist this question, she said there is no maximum dosage which I found hard to believe that there wouldn't be a max dose on any medication. My daughter is 15 yrs old and had been prescribed a total of 2500 mg per day divided into 3 doses. Does anyone know the max dose for diamox? Thanks!
Avatar m tn He has had lots of head hair loss and his doctor put him on Synthorid 100mcg for 3 wks when we took him to a pediatric endocrinologist. She rechecked his blood and discovered Hashimoto and changed the meds to levothyroxine 0.88mcg. He was feeling ok with the synthroid and now after 4 days of the levothyroxine he feels extremely exhausted and feels as if he is hallucinating (sp) during the day on several occasions. Bad dreams too. Any suggestions.
Avatar f tn I had called my family doctor once again because I feared Conner was suffering from both a Milk and Soy intolerance. My doctor finally refered me to a Pediatric GI and I had Conner seen that day. Everything went okay, it's better news than I had expected, but it's still news I was hoping I didn't get. One a good note, Conner is not allergic to soy(thank god). He does however have a severe Milk allergy that he may not outgrow.
Avatar m tn Later on diagnosis we found that this was due to rickets whihc apparently had healed. He has been on calium dosage and sunlight exposure now for 7 months. Avatar f tn Doctor prescribed her to take Thyronorm-50 (Synthetic hormone-thyroxine) on daily basis. As told, dosage will be adjusted , if required, after another test after 8 weeks of medication...she started taking a thyronorm 50 from 19/11/2008. She was again tested on 22/12/2008 after nearly 5 weeks of medication. Latest Lab Result is as under: T3 : 1.93 ng/ml (earlier it was 0.588 before medication) , Free T4: 1.81 ng/dl and TSH: 0.164 micro I.U/ml (earlier it was 62.9 micro I.U./ml) .
Avatar n tn My 7 y.o. is awaiting a pediatric urology appt but is currently taking oxybutynin 10 mg. After months of her primary thinking it was vag related, a ped gyn dx'd bladder contraction/spasms. These are daily... all day... and now waking her in the night. She is going half crazy from the constant discomfort, which she eases by pressing on her vag area. This is interfering, of course, with her everday life.
