Hello. My urethra is extrememly swollen and painfull. It is not a UTI, herpes or and STD just had my physical 6 weeks ago. It has been painfull off and on for 6 months. The first Dr. prescribed cefprozil. It didn't do anything. The second Dr. gave me an antifungal with anti-iflammatory cream. It helps slightly but everything is still extremely swollen. I am worried it might be something more serious? I have no discharge.
My son who just turned 1 years old a few weeks ago has had stye like bumps on his eye lids for almost 5 weeks now. He actually has four, one on each lid and they are pretty close to the lids. I've been using topical eye ointment and warm compress for many weeks now and they sometimes appear to be getting better, then worse again and have not yet gone away. Now his lids are pretty swollen and red and I've started giving him oral anitbiotics (Cefprozil) which are prescribed for 10 days.
t think it was herpes but I definitely needed antibiotics and prescribed Cefprozil. I asked if I should be taking the Acylovir, and she said no.
After a couple of days taking the Cefprozil the burning during urination stopped. That said, my lesions had then changed in appearance. I now had the yellowish fluid filled blisters in a few areas over reddish skin. My lymph nodes in my groin were also tender on one side. The area is sore to touch but not itchy yet.
I have had a strange pain in my left arm and leg for about a week now. I originally went to the Dr.'s last week due to an ear ache in my left ear. I was given Apo-Cefprozil - two days later my leg felt weird ( by the achilles tendant) -I shrugged this off as I have recently began running a lot. The next day my toes were tingling and the pain was also in my arm ( feels like carpal tunnel). My first thought was that my medication was too strong (500 mg twice a day).
I appreciate the info but in my case I didn't have the sore throat or other symptoms until 2 days after the encounter, which has me worried
Ive been very open with my GP and im seriously losing faith its been 5 months and they cant figure it out. Now ive had probally 4 strep throat swaps done, 3 mono spot tests, 2 hiv tests all negative. for the stoumach pain i had xrays ultra sounds and ct scans nothign irregular noted. i dont have a fever ever. I feel so helpless wiht my gp and i need to make an appointment again to see if i can lok elsewhere for medical assistance cause its really taking its toll.
I have been prescribed cefprozil and what is around my mouth does sound like it would be impetigo. How would I have developed this?
As for the rest of my face, the swelling, rashing, itching, and burning... on eyelids cheeks and chin, would that be an effect of having impetigo as well?

I have 11 Cefprozil 500mg and 10 Clindamycin 150mg. Will these antibiotics help me? I've already begun drinking as much water as I can.
Yesterday, I gave in and went to the doctor when I awoke with a 101.9 fever. The doc tested for flu (negative) and then strep (positive), then proceeded to write prescrips for Tylenol with codeine, penicillin and Valtrex (also have a few cold sores on my lips). No other symptoms.
I've been using the meds for 24 hours now and simply put, they do not work. They don't lessen the sore throat at all, and it's pretty miserable.
My 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with Strep on Saturday and given Omnicef which gave her diarrhea. She went back to doctor then on Tuesday to receive a dose of LAbicillin which is supposed to cure her in 12 hours. 48 hours ago and we are still not better. SHe has white spots the size of an eraser on each side of her throat and her throat is almost swollen closed. I took her back today and they gave her clindomycein and prednisone which she had last year for mono.
I know you tested negative for strep but it could be non group A strep (which is what they test for on the rapid strep test). There are several other strains of strep that cause sore throat and can be important. So, it partially depends on your symptoms and then whether you can find out if they did a strep culture as well.

Okay - I've seen this question asked a million places and a million different ways but none of the answers were the same and none of the questions were very much like my situation so I figured I'd give it a try (sorry if you've seen this a ton of times before!).

However, since then, the boil-like red spots on my throat, or rather, palette, have become much nicer and my sore throat has disappeared. 2 weeks ago I had BV. Took vaginal antibiotics for that. That gave me a yeast infection, I'm taking Conesten for that, and now I come to find out I may have strep throat, i was given antibiotics for that. I'm not sure I want to take them. I feel like I've been pumping my self with meds, I dont want my baby so exposed to all these chemicals. Im thinking of just living with the strep, heal naturally, what would you do?
But If you are being treated for dental problems sometimes certain strains of viridans strep. Strep mutans and Strep. Sanguinis can cause dental cavities if you have a problem with bleeding gums for example.
It is not an STD. You normally have these bacteria and can get them anywhere. Possibly from a kiss since these particular strains like the oral cavity. But if they just said "strep viridans" it could be from the skin or elsewhere.
Some girl I met told me she had strep throat and that it was causing her blisters on her mouth.... I didn't know strep throat did that and was thinking she coulda been lying and it was something else like herpes. I haven't found anything online to talk about strep throat and blisters... anyone know?
Recently, I have been having an upset stomach, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, vaginal itching, some vaginal blood, swollen lymph nodes, a mild fever, and a white sore in the back of my throat. My doctor said it was strep. However, I read somewhere that strep and some STDs can have the same symptoms. I am currently on ammoxicillin (spelling?) but that wasn't prescribed to me until after most of the symptoms were gone.
