I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.
Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.
However, stupidly I engaged in some oral sex amd symptoms reappeared. I went and got tested amd was prescribed cefixime powder and zithro. Took it, and so did my partner. Was fine for a few weeks after that, but now some discomfort has come back. VERY little discharge, if any at all. Most prominent symptom is a pain in my pelvic/genital area, some sporatic stabbing/electric shock pings in my penis and frequent urination.
m doing. the supplements enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotics and the 2nd antibiotic (cefdinir) is to go after the lyme. we know there is nothing here to treat the cyst form of lyme but the Dr. didn't want to put me on any more medicines at this time.
The gonorrhea is going to take up to 3 weeks and so I was filled with too much anxiety to wait for the results, so I went to see a GP and told him my symptoms and he prescribed 400mg Cefixime (Suprax). I took the tablets in one dose but 2 days after I originally took the Azithromycin i.e. 7th Sept. It's now 4 days since I took Azithromycin and 2 days since I've taken the Cefixime.
My questions are:
1. Should my symptoms have disappeared yet or how long will it take?

I posted several months ago regarding what I thought was a case of NSU that eventually revealed itself to be Gonorrhea following a test. I was prescribed cefixime and azithromycin by the doctor, went back for a test of cure a week later and was found to be negative.
Now, this week after 3 months had elapsed since my exposure, I went back to the clinic for a full panel STD check.
I have registered for a check up (after the usual 10 day wait) but as I have started to be worried of the situation, I preventatively bought and took a gonorrea/clamidia pack ( 400 mg cefixime and 1000 mg azithromycin).
Everything seemed to be fine when on the 7th day for some reason I realized that I only took one of the two (i.e 200 mg) cefixime tablets.
I had gonorrhea 3 times i think. First went to a doctor and confirmed positive. I took cefixime and doxy, and second time (without drs prescription) ceftriaxone 1 gm starting dose and doxycycline for a week (2 caps/day), den last time 2 caps of cefixime and den 3 caps/ day of doxy for 10 days. Honestly, im sexually active and im just so scared because iim still feeling uncomfortable with my penis..not burning but a little bit uncomfortable.
since i had read a lot on the forum before i went to the test, i know the proper treatment for ngu is doxicycline or azithromynthin. but my doctor insisted on cefixime for ngu when i told him what i heard about on the internet.
so my question:
is cefixime effective against ngu, specifically gram negative and gram positive in my case?

i am 25 years old, 95 kg weight, almost 25 days ago i started to feel pain in throat, i took Over The counter Erythromycin, which i only took 5 tablets until my symptoms got worse, i quit smoking and started azythromycin it was 3 days course but my symptoms got worse, thats when i consulted a ENT specialist who recommended Cefixime, i took that, but now the symptoms had grown below pharynx and larynx was also inflamed, it really hurt when i talk to i took some voice rest and steam inhala
The doctor put me on 400 mg of cefixime and 1000 mg of azithromycin, and while it felt a bit better, it still wasn't right. A week later I went in again and this time, he put me on doxycycline and 400 mg of cefixime/day for two weeks. Since then, no discharge but it's consistently hurt. Since then, I've tried 2000 mg of azithromycin, taken cefixime numerous times, and been put on 500 mg of ciprofloxacin and tamsulosin for 2 weeks.
I took a 3-day course of Cipro 500mg twice a day right away, and then went to see a doctor, who prescribed me Azythromycin 1g and Cefixime 400mg in one take. In the meantime, I experienced a mild discomfort in my urethra, no discharge, and no burning while peeing. Just a sort of irritation in my urethra which would come and go. No test from doc, just checked lymph nodes and wrote down urethritis.
morning dr, I had a unprotected oral experience two weeks ago with a gay man, I am a male, since then I have had no symptoms, I did take azithromycin and cefixime a week after exposure to maybe ensure that if I did catch anything it may eradicate the issue

1. I have read that I don't need retesting for hiv, I had tested neg in dec, do you recommend retesting for this exposure

s my sinus..I went to the dr the other day and I told him bout what was going on and he gave me cefdinir 300mg capsule and I been on them for 3 days and tonight I'm hurting really badly I have never been in so much pain and when I cough it hurts..does anyone know what this could be??
for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things. is the vertigo/dizziness normal with these infections and how long until I can expect some relief from this medication?

I went to a local clinic to get get evaluated and was given 1g of Azithromycin and 400mg of Cefixime as prophylaxis - was not indicated for PEP (HIV).
All was going well until this morning I work up with an burning feeling in my penis head and on 'milking' a creamy colored liquid came out (like thick pre-cum) - is it possible that after 10 days these drugs didnt work for a new STI infection?
Went back to the Dr and he did a urine test (nitrates, WBC, etc.) and said it was negative but wanted to treat me with Cefixime to be sure , so he gave me 1g Azithromycin (AGAIN!) and 400mg Cefixime.
4 days later and still no improvement, I went back and he said could be a yeast infection so gave me 150mg fluzonacole and some cream.
A week has now past and I am still having urethral discomfort, morning discharge on milking and a burning on the head of my penis.
Any ideas?

I had unprotected sex with a woman about 2 months ago. The next day I began experiencing a slight burn during urination. I went to a doctor who gave me a weeks worth of Doxy and two other pills, Not sure what they were. After 4 days of Doxy things were still getting worse. I went back and he the gave me 500mg of Cipro to be taken 2 times daily for a week. Painful urination persisted. Went back to the doc who then put me on Levofloxicin 500 mg/day x 4 weeks.
