Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.
I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.
Which kind were you on? They say to use another form of protection while taking the other meds, so I think your ok after a few days of being off the antiboitics.
Different docs use different combinations of meds, so there is no absolute right/wrong on these things.
I was on:
-- Mepron (generic: atovaquone) and Zithromax (azithromycin) for Babesiosis;
then I was on:
-- Biaxin (clartihromycin) and Omnicef (cefdinir) for Lyme.
However, I have seen references in various places online to Flagyl being used against babesia. If you search "babesiosis flagyl" you'll find what I did.

m doing. the supplements enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotics and the 2nd antibiotic (cefdinir) is to go after the lyme. we know there is nothing here to treat the cyst form of lyme but the Dr. didn't want to put me on any more medicines at this time.
I usually use 250 mg of Cipro for a 60-70 pound dog. However, the side effects of the Cipro should have subsided by now.
Since the problem with your dog began as a vomiting issue did any of the vets discuss performing endoscopy, a barium study, or special dietary regiman? Did they discuss the possibility of food allergy gastritis? Did they mention giving your dog a medication called Celexa or Reglan, (or other medication that are anti-nausea and vomiting) medications?

That was last Tuesday and since that time, I have been taking the antibiotic cefdinir that had been perscribed to me as well as keeping my leg elevated above my heart level. Gradually, the swelling began to subside, as did the redness and pain. As I have never had cellulitis before, I was naturally worried when I actually found out the seriousness of this condition, especially if left untreated. t say where you live, but if I were you I would look into any veterinary colleges in your state. They have state of the art equipment when it comes to diagnostics and even though veterinary students work on the animals, they are just inches away from graduating and they work under the close supervision of their professors, who are veterinary professors and doctors themselves.

I was not tested again for strep but was given cefdinir. I realize I am only day 3 but my throat hurts worse than it did to begin with. I'm having trouble swallowing and have a consistent stabbing pain in my throat. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar symptoms or knows if this could be a continuation of strep or something else.
I just had first root canal #14 through dental crown. Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
