I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared. My original symptoms were gone so I didn't bother taking the rest of the antibiotic. (I know, my fault).
I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.
Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.

I have been having some post-nasal drainage that began around the same time of the throat pain. I have also been having headaches and my ears are very sore. My nose has also been running but I feel fine not like when I have a cold. Google has me convinced that I have Gonorrhea although it is said to be rare. WTF is rare? I need to know my exact odds. I was put on Cefdinir 300 mg. I am just going to take this and hope it goes away.
Third, what are my odds of catching Syphillis give it is more prevelant in SE Asia and Thailand. My final question is that I visited a doctor in HK and he prescribed Cefdinir 300mgs, 2x a day for 2 weeks to treat possible STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) and he also indicated this could treat Syphilis. After spending some time online, I am confused and not certain that will treat the above issues.
was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.
ve had full blood work including testing for Mono, Lyme, Parvo, Thyroid, urine culture, blood culture, sugar, electrolytes, kidney/liver functions all normal/negative. I did have Strep Group G and Group C though symptomatic (apparently that means no big deal to the doctors) and was treated with 2 rounds of antibiotics (Augmentin; Cefdinir)
I've gone on a low sugar, no caffeine, no dairy diet and taking a daily, d3, garlic supplement and probiotic.
We took him back to his doctor and had x-rays taken. He then had pneumonia in his right lower lobe and was put on Cleocin for 10 days. Once he was off the Cleocin he started having fever again and still had his cough. Took him back to his doctor and had more x-rays. He had pneumonia again, but in his left lower lobe. He was put back on Cleocin. Ended up taking him to Children's hospital where they treated him for pneumonia for 2 days then sent home to take Cefdinir for 12 days.
It burned and itched and I went back to the doctor and he prescribed me Valtrex and Cefdinir. Went away for a week and came back. Began with lips swelling again and then sat night into sunday it started oozing. Sunday at 7am i went to the hospital and was prescribed valtrex, prednisone, and oh gosh i'm blanking on the other antibiotic. It went away and a week later I got a cold. Then (first time this happened) I noticed a white blister on the inside of my lip.
Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
I went to my doc but he didnt even look at my mouth :( he didn't take me seriously at all just spoke about the baby and that's it. I had strep once and it burned my throat so i kind of thought it was my tonsils but not i hear of advanced strep ugh I'm def going for a second opinion tm.... and can u still have advanced strep w out fever?
Okay - I've seen this question asked a million places and a million different ways but none of the answers were the same and none of the questions were very much like my situation so I figured I'd give it a try (sorry if you've seen this a ton of times before!).
My boyfriend is in the military and the last two times I've gone to visit him on base I have performed unprotected oral sex and gotten strep throat.
If so then the virudans strep could also be the problem and viridans strep are more resistant to antibiotics. But I would check with your doctor on this and see if the Strep group B and Viridans strep were sensitive to Levoflaxacin. If they are it may be a suitable substitute. Why do you want to stop the Ciprofloxacin or switch? Do you have another problem you want to treat in addition to the urinary tract infection and prostate or is the cipro not working?
My brother tested positive for strep throat today and I've been around him..they're supposed yo induce on Monday. If I am to come down with strep will they still induce? How soon will strep affect me if I've caught it? And is there anything I can do meanwhile to help fight any bacteria I've already been exposed to?
About 5 months ago I started getting constantly severe burning in the perineum which was and still is red (though not excessively) and irritated. A lot of swabs were taken (I felt a burning sensation also internally when the swab was taken) and all that could be found was strep b and WBC >200. I was given antibitiocs for that but this did not help. Strep b was coming back; however even when I took the antibiotics and the strep b was not showing in the swab the burning was still present.
Other antibiotics likely to cause seizures are ciprofloxacin, cefdinir, cephalexin, and penicillin (there are others too like metronidazole and TB drug INH etc). Usually taking vitamin B along with antibiotic prevents the likelihood of seizures. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
