carbohydrate

7628588 tn?1392763151 Yes, adopt a Paleo lifestyle. Humans were not designed to run on the carbohydrates we typically consume daily. They were seasonal treats found during the warm months of the year, honey, berries, and fruit. Our bodies have not evolved sufficiently to run on carbohydrates. Rampant Type II diabetes is proof of that. So, do you really want to lose weight, and lower your blood glucose level? No "white stuff".
Avatar n tn most nuts (he could only ingest Peanuts, Almonds, and Macademia), soy products and all fresh fruits except citrus. If the food mentioned above even touch his tongue, his throat will close up, he would be throwing up, running high fever and have diahhrea. The symptoms last about two days. I am 18 weeks pregnant, the doctor wants me to consume protein and calcium. Since I'm lactose intolerant, I try to drink about 2 glasses of soymilk a day.
Avatar f tn t associate as being fruits, such as nuts (not peanuts, which are legumes) and seeds, which are high in protein but can also be high in fat. Though eating a moderate amount actually cuts cholesterol and might even lead to weight loss, calorie obsessed diets often exclude them. Squash is also a fruit, though we usually think of it as a vegetable, just as tomatoes are a fruit but many people think it's a vegetable.
Avatar n tn and actually produce no insulin of their own (or very little insulin if they do produce any), and so lowering the carbohydrate count in their diets will not solve the problem.

I hope this spins some clarity on my question and look forward to more good conversation.
Avatar f tn Yes if you're not allergic for as what I know
Avatar f tn Yes actually recent studies have shown babies introduced to nuts in the womb are less likely to develop nut allergies. With my 1st 4 yrs ago they were saying the exact opposite.
Avatar f tn If you are not already trying this, a low carbohydrate diet (avoid sugars, grains, minimal fruits), may also help in lowering your blood sugar.

Avatar f tn I do remember reading somewhere that eating alot of nuts in your pregnancy can cause nut allergies but i dont know if this is true... it was on the internet.. I was never advised by my doctor to avoid them.. If its true though, my poor baby is screwed becasue I had peanut butter and almonds all through my pregnancy... it was difficult to eat meat at times so having nuts helped me stick to a more holistic diet.

Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar f tn I was not able to have treatment two times in a row because of low platelet count. I cameto the site like you did and asked the same question. Someone here told me to eat the red casings of peanuts. I ate quite a lot of peanuts that week with the red shell around them and was able to get chemo the next week.?? Interesting huh I wish well.
Avatar f tn I actually read that one of the ways to keep a kid from having peanut allergies (if you don't have them) is to eat peanuts during pregnancy. Please check me on that, though. Just google "eating peanuts in pregnancy.
415684 tn?1257329318 OK ... just hear me out. I know of someone who swears that raw peanuts with the red skin will help raise platelets. AND potatoes will help raise white cells. Has anyone heard of this?
Avatar n tn I think you're making a common mistake in thinking about food, which is that protein is good and carbs are bad. This isn't at all true -- the majority of your diet should be carbs. Vegetables, for example, the core of a healthy diet, are carbs, whereas beef is very high in fat on purpose and hard to digest despite being high in protein and so is never weight-loss food.
Avatar m tn my platelet count was 90 in Jan 2014 when I was diagnosed with Hep C and cirrhosis, and now after SVR it is lower; 59 two months ago, and my spleen is still enlarged. I'm monitored every 6 months with MRI and have bloodwork every 3 months. I follow a healthy lifestyle, eat organic, excercise, and hope for improvement. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn If you lips went numb after eating something, it could be an allergy as this what happens when one eats peanuts and the face swells. It could be a mild allergy as a full one leaves you with difficulty breathing. Some seafood can cause tingling lips, swollen face. I think it could feel rock hard because the swelling is so great your skin cannot expand, keeping it tight in your cheek. An allergist that tests for food allergies would help.
Avatar n tn s best to get the exact amount of carbs that you should be eating from your doctor- different medical conditions will cause the limit to be more or less. I have always been given different recommendations for different meals as well. In general, the recommendation is 30-60 grams for meals, and 15-30 for snacks, but again- talk to your doctor about your situation specifically.
