I'm still very much on the learning curve and hope someone is able to give me a few useful pointers. I'm not gonna give up on p90x as I'm really enjoying the exercise regime more than I've ever enjoyed any other fitness DVD, it's just the diet causing temporary problems.

Avatar f tn I have been put on metformin hydrochloride 500 twice a day to decrease sugar levels. hernia op delayed because of this. diabetic type 2 and had always controlled by diet but sugar count creeping in the mornings so told dr who issued prescription. have been on just over 2 weeks yet morning tests show very little decrease 7.2 to 8.00. Told to wait 6 weeks for reconsideration on op. I know when they do blood test some sort of average is established so just morning count not all that is relevant. ?
Avatar m tn 8% which is slightly lower than the lower limit 40% WBC count is 3.1 K/uL which is lower than the lowest 4.0 (Neutrophils 38.1%, lower than lowest 40, Lymphocytes 45.3%, slightly higher than highest 45%) Doctor said it's not concerning and he should eat a regular diet (He doesn't consume much carbohydrate) Is this normal? He doesn't seem to have any other symptoms. He used to smoke cigar and now he still drinks wine (a little too much). he's 50.

My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?

Avatar m tn You can use them to make fresh pizzas and freeze these. Make tomato chutney or tomato soup. You could also freeze some of the tomatoes, but they would be rather watery afterwards, but OK to use in soups and stews (with the skins removed). To help remove tomato skin, soak for a few seconds in hot boiled water and then peel off the skin. Best wishes.

Lunch is either a deli roast beef sandwich or a bowl of soup, again with a multi-grained bagel . Supper is a pork chop or a NY strip with a vegetable (spinach, asparagus) on Friday and Saturday nights. The other nights a pre-cooked piece of fish,chicken or a frozen bowl (chicken parmesan. shrimp and scallops).

So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?

How can we be encouraging and supportive while we are very frustrated and angry at his seeming lack of interest in maintaining good health! We just want to nag and scream at him which we know will not work at all. He also suffers from depression and social anxiety for which he receives on-going treatment through counseling and medication.
