Avatar f tn You should aim to loose body fat and build muscle. I really recommend weight training and a bit of cardio in what ever form you enjoy best. Whether its classes of karate, yoga, running, cycling etc. Do not "watch your calories" as most teenagers who begin counting calories become self destructive and i have never seen one teenager who started counting calories and didnt end up obsessive and loose their mind. Its a bad window.

According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I do 20 minutes of cardio and wt train with a circuit type atmosphere while keeping my cardio up during my wt training. I had a hysterectomy at 51, do I need my hormones checked? My job is very physical and I easily walk > 8000 steps and 6 flights.

2082101 tn?1419965061 Include aerobic exercises such as running, swimming, cycling, tennis into your week which increases your energy expenditure and makes managing your shape easier. Indulge in interval training which is short bouts of high intensity training, alternating bursts of intense exercises with intervals of light activity. This will help you burn more calories. Avatar f tn hi...i think .losing weight is a time taking process..cycling is best to lose extra pounds...continue walking....it will be best to take high protein diet ...and also you need motivation and patience so just start finding a companion ...with the same problems...and go for a walk together..and please stop taking stress...stress can make it only worse....

If you particularly want to do some exercises for your legs then cycling is the best. Also diet is an important factor to consider if you are concentrating on fat loss. That should not contain sugars, refined carbohydrates and fatty substances. I hope this helps.

Avatar f tn I would suggest a warm up on the bike or treadmill at 60-80% effort for 5 minutes before and after the weight training to assist with getting your heart rate up and firing up your metabolism. Please note that this is purely from my experience and I am not Aware of your measurements or medical conditions.

In the case of concentric enlargement, your heart can get more "muscular" in which it the muslce walls thicken outwards, this is known as concentric cardiac hypertrophy and is caused by anaerobic training like weight lifting.
