Avatar f tn Sweetheart....my heart goes out to you. Be strong. You can do this. I believe you can! Seriously. Can I offer you some advice that helped me? It is to adopt a way of eating that will help you lose weight, and it's not the complicated typical blah blah blah we commonly hear, like eat low fat, exercise crazy hard, run a mile a day, limit portion sizes, count calories....blah blah blah. Let me guess, you tried this and it didn't work. You are not alone.

Avatar f tn Choose good fats (olive oil, avocado, grass fed butter, linseed oil, chia seeds), protein (fish, eggs, canned/dried beans, nuts, seeds, chicken, red meat, some cheese) and veg (anything, just choose more veg than fruit) over carbs. And when eating carbs make sure they're wholegrain. That's what I focus my meal plans around. That way any extra snacks or indulgences full of sugar or white flour don't throw my diet into carb overload.
11634465 tn?1421827735 Adopting a low carb, moderate protein and high fats (from natural sources) diet will help you control blood sugar and satisfy your hunger. Eliminate grains and starchy stuff, like pasta, bread, rice, potatoes, beans, and eliminate sugars. Eat non starchy veg frequently, while limiting fruits to occasional treats. Don't be shy with good fats (avocado, grass fed butter, olive oil, nuts, etc), and stay away from fake fats like margarine.
Avatar n tn I am 30 weeks tomorrow and been diagnosed with GDM, my fasting levels were ok but both the 1 hour and 2 hour levels were a little high. I am on a low carb, high protein diet and some walking each day. I have to monitor my levels 2 hours post each meal and must get a reading under 120. Been managing so far, but had 2 high readings in 4 days (12 readings). Wanted to know are others in the same boat? What advice has your doc given u? I have gained 7 kilos so far, so no massive weight gain.

1401296 tn?1280799533 however, my feeling is that your body needs all of the food groups, so by cutting out carbs, you could be depriving your body of necessary nutrients, etc. If you do go on a carb free diet and lose weight, most likely, you will gain it back if you go off the plan. If you stick with the complex carbs - fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc - and eliminate the simple carbs - such as sugar, white flour, regular pasta, etc, - you should do better. Of course, you still have to limit your portions.
10570408 tn?1412078257 I am sorry to hear that. Try and cut down on your intake of red meat and processed food as well. Replace them with fresh fruits and vegetables. If it still fails to get your weight shifting, try Liproxenol max. It was very effective for me.

1675455 tn?1328478107 ) There are lots of theories all over the Net. You just have to look and do your research, and see what makes sense and works for you. Using that as a basis, I did drop from 145KG to 122kg in 7,5 months - about 50 Lb's, and another 9kg the next year. IF anyone finds the link please post.
Avatar f tn My lipid pannel was awful and I am eating a good diet with low carb and a lot of leafy veg and large water consumption everyday. I walk occasionally and keep semi active (well until I am exhausted). My BMI is around 32 (up from 26 18 months ago) and my weight fluctuations are around 7 lbs weekly. My Dr put me on Phetermine and reviewed my food intake...he was floored when I did not lose any weight on the Phetermine. I seem to have little to no control overmy weight and health.
Avatar m tn My diet now (over the past 5 years) comprises basically veg and fruits, lots and lots of them, especially those intense-colored ones that I read are rich in anti-oxidants, some meat and lately, mostly fish, but little carb. (Basically, before I eat anything, and I mean EVERYTHING, I’d first look it up on the Internet to find out its health benefits. If it’s good, I’d eat more. If it say very good, I’d eat vey much. If it says bad, I’d try to cut it out).
Avatar f tn Id love to eat more choices but stick with 3 diff proteins, low carb veg, no fruit, little to no dairy, no grains. I keep losing weight. I was always around 130 at 5.7 inches and now 108 lbs. I cant put on weight on this under 50g carbs a day. Any suggestions on best diet for a thin person like me that isnt overloaded with meat/fat? Avatar n tn Stick to 3 main meals per day with healthy snacks in between. Eat as much fruit and veg as you can and try leave out greasy, processed foods, food high in fat, gassy drinks - stick to water. You can obviously allow yourself a treat day when you could say order a pizza or something. Make sure you're exercising a few times a week too.
