The symptoms were: sudden weakness with inability to walk (i had to sit down) and tremors; probably also some degree of lightheadedness. The symptoms resolved in few time (10 minutes) spontaneously.

Has your dr instructed you how to do corrections with insulin. For example, when I am high, I know that 1 unit of insulin will bring my blood sugar down by 10 points. Reduce the amount of fruit you are eating or find a type of fruit that it lower in carbs. Also, how many carbs are you trying to stick to? I believe anything under 100grams a day will help you burn fat, under 200 is good for maintenance. It's very easy to stick to under 100g a day if you aren't eating grains and loads of fruit.

However the diet is made up of plenty of non-starchy veges, meats and nonsweetened dairy, some nuts, oily fruits such as avocado. Very limited fruits and grains. It is quite opposite to the establishment high carb low fat diet. This diet needs to be high fat, moderate protein and low carb. Essentially the carbs are replaced mostly with fats, and with some additional protein.

For example, a person who weighs 150 lbs should limit to 150 grams protein per day. Avatar n tn they give me indigestion. I do make low carb breads from time to time (particularly for my children) out of almond flour or coconut flour. There are some great low carb website for lowcarb baking (alldayIdreamaboutfood) is a great one. However, I mostly just stick with basic foods. Breakfast is typically just coffee with cream. Both lunch and dinner will typically be some sort of meat and veges.

Fill with egg white (purchased small cartons in grocery store ) Bake 350 about 15 to 20 min. Cool and store in the fridge. Fruit or veggies can seem boring but if you actually buy some and chop them and mix them up... They are so much tastier when you eat them than when you think about eating them. Very satisfying.

People following low carb diet typically need to increase salt and electrolytes intake, and drink plenty of water (unsweetened tea, coffee, etc also ok). Avatar f tn Also, you may not be able to do a traditional glucose tolerance test, but you might be able to do a carbohydrate challenge test. A carb challenge test can give a doctor a lot of information and at the same time not be so hard on your body. If you get one insist on a 4hr test. Also insist that they measure your insulin levels at 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4 also. Also, try to calibrate your glucometer with serum test. Your glucometer could be off. Some of them can be off by as much as 30+%.
