Avatar f tn Best option is to eat a low carb, moderate protein with balance of calories from fats, like olive oil, nuts, grass fed butter, etc. not sure beans and lentils are good for you, as this causes increase in sugar in blood from high carb content. Also don't be afraid to eat fats. People who eat low carb with ultra high protein and low fat run into the gluconeogenesis problem, which is your body taking some of the ultra high protein intake and making sugar (glucose).

Avatar n tn s a complex carb instead of the simple carb that the white rice is. Great source of extended energy. And eat some fermented vegetables or yogurt with it -- I'm assuming, though this might not be true, that, being from South India, you're from one of the few ethnicities that can actually digest dairy.

446335 tn?1223948356 By diet it means cut out all sugary substances and foods. This includes high carb foods containing lots of sugar and milk. Moderate exercise is walking daily for 1/3 mile or so. Walking does lower your glucose levels. Danners is incorrect to say "any good doctor would know that those r good glucose levels". Try posting on the "Ask a Doctor Forum". Bet Dr Ramsetty disagrees with Danners. If you're between 100 and 120 you're considered pre-diabetic.
Avatar f tn ) I hope to be close to 60kg by next Christmas. If you eat too much of something you shouldn't, don't throw in the towel and give up. Just because you ate two chocolate bars, doesn't mean you are doomed and you should eat a third! Eat your favourite fruit and vegies as much as possible. I like beans and lentils as a healthy protein and brown rice as a filling carb. Don't starve yourself! I hope some of this helps a little. Good luck!
10570408 tn?1412078257 Different diets work for different people. Low-carb doesn't work for everyone. If it doesn't work for you, then you need different kind of diet, maybe a more moderate-carb diet. Try leaving out the sugar, junk food, and grains, but add back in two or three servings a day of healthy but carb-y vegetables, and see what happens.
Avatar n tn Actually, I'm looking for a good recipe. We should see if there is one on the Healthy Cooking Forum!
Avatar n tn We have found the Zone bars, and the bars that are low carbs (they say to count as a lower carb. than on the label.) Have worked better for keeping our daughters blood sugars in line. If you cannot find one that you feel is good for you, call your nutritionist and ask him/her for some suggestions. I hope this is not your last question and that you will visit this forum again.

Mine are definitely lower in the morning (mine are 1:7, 1:9 and 1:18). Btw this is the Type 2 forum!
973741 tn?1342342773 What do you think the best foods are for weight loss? Is it about portion control or what we eat? A list of things to make and eat would be really helpful for us simpletons who have to work at making food decisions and don't want to spend too much time doing it.

Low carb foods include all meats, high fat unsweetened dairy (in moderation), non-starchy veges. YOu will need to use your meter to work out which foods work best for you. If you want recipes, you could look into paleo, low carb, mediterranean etc.
