1260320 tn?1270394906 Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!

Avatar m tn the candesartan is an ARB, which reduces blood pressure. So if his spells are in the morning, he might be better off taking the ARB in the late afternoon (gradually shifting the schedule over) - with the doctor's permission, of course. Is he dehydrated lately? That can reduce BP. Though the pacemaker data seems like the best lead... Another thing is to ask: what is different now, than in months past? That can be useful, especially in a case like this where you say the docs are puzzled.

Avatar m tn Drugs like Enalapril and Candesartan, while often thought of as medications for treating high blood pressure, also have a proven role in the treatment of congestive heart failure. If your father is feeling unwell, and you think it is related to the medications, you should have him seen by his doctor. Also, be sure to mention to his doctor any over-the-counter supplements that he may be taking.

Avatar n tn The Beta Blocker Bystolic is to reduce the high blood pressure and the doctor feels that this alone is not enough so has prescribed the Carvedilol which is also a beta blocker to help reduce the blood pressure and for your problem. Avatar n tn I get that dry cough too. I don't take an ACE inhibitor though, I don't think. Just Lopressor, Dyazide/Maxzide, Lipitor and aspirin for the heart issues. For me it started a couple of years ago one summer after pushing myself too hard. I start coughing out of the blue to the point of either just about passing out or vomiting mucus. Urgg My chest hurts and feels sunken in, pounds very hard and quivers sort of and then I'm fine till it happens again.
Avatar m tn The doctor gave Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets. The blood pressure is then controlled to 107~135 mmHg(high pressure) / 65~80 mmHg(low pressure). In 2015: My mother suddenly felt dizzy and she was found that her blood pressure jumped to 80~90 mmHg(high pressure) / 50 mmHg(low pressure). Then the doctor asked her to stop taking any blood pressure control medicine. Her heart is examined OK. What is the reason that blood pressure jumps from high to low?
Avatar m tn Most cough and cold medications are actually okay to take with Warfarin, as long as they don't contain any steroid or non-steroidal antiinflammatory (like Advil or Motrin). These also thin the blood, and can be a problem when combined with Warfarin. For a cough, try something like guaifenesin, like Robitussin Severe Congestion Liquagels or Mucinex. Avoid dextramethorphan, like Robitussin DM.
Avatar n tn what can be done about dizziness after taking tablets for high blood pressure?
Avatar n tn I went to a new chemist this morning and he said I should never take the 2 tablets together as they will cause low blood pressure. I went to the doctors last year for a check up and complained of low blood pressure ( I took a list of my last 20 readings) but was told it is nothing to worry about!. The pharmascist showed me on his computer the comments about it, and it was very worrying. I am 73. Why didn't someone mention it sooner? Could this be why I have Erectile Dysfunction?
