Common Questions and Answers about Can you use pataday with contacts

pataday

Avatar m tn He perscribed more Pataday and some eye drops and told me in about a week i could resume with contacts that were dailys . A week after has passed and my eyes are getting red. Please help because i hate wearing my glasses and want to return to my contacts and this is not working .
Avatar f tn However, now I face some redness in my left eye upon waking up in the morning (mild red veins can be seen) After wearing contacts,my left eye looks slightly pink. Could anybody please help me with a solution to fix this.
Avatar f tn Try to avoid long bouts of computer work or reading with contacts in. Try to use your glasses as much as you can in those instances. Use thera tears drops on your contacts about 4 times a day. It should help a lot. Watch out for other brands because they can really gunk up the lenses and make your problem worse. Consider Elestat instead of Pataday, because it has a little less drying effect on the eyes.
Avatar f tn A more expensive yet effective method is of course corrective/LASIK surgery. You can do several things. Make sure your contacts are the right size. Also, make sure your eyes are properly lubricated. This is especially important in people who use contacts. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC and recently ended the use of steroid drops. Ever since I've stoped the steroid drops, I've woken up with crusty, glued eyes. Could the lingering GPC be causing this? I've been doing artificial tears multiples times a day and Pataday drops 2x a day. I have a follow up appointment soon, I'm thinking about trying to move it up if this is something serious.
Avatar n tn Finally try out of the contacts for a month or so - if the redness improves then it may indeed be the contacts or solution that are to blame. Then you can go about trying different contacts and solutions.
Avatar f tn m told I have no signs of infection, ocular surface is good, Schirmer test shows mild dry eye with use of punctal plugs, small sign of allergy. I tried a short course of steriod drops which relieved my symptoms, but they returned as soon as I stopped. Restasis for three months has offered no improvement. Pataday and Acular provide no benefit either. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I would greatly appreciate any direction or ideas.
Avatar n tn I have GPC and do not wear contacts. I’ve been on prednisone eye drops for the past week with no relief. Was on Pataday for a month before that with no relief. What can I do?
Avatar f tn Some people especially women can, without any specific reason, lose the ability to wear contacts. If you develop GPC it is even more likely you will not be able to continue with contacts. In our Discover Vision Centers Refractive Surgery unit we find that as many as 10-15% of patients having PRK or LASIK are because they lost the ability to wear contacts.
Avatar n tn I was recently had an eye exam and pointed these symptoms out to my doctor, but she seemed to think nothing wrong. I did have a mild case of conjunctivitis (I think) and was perscribed Pataday eye drops to deal with it (I've noticed my contacts have been sticky after taking them out of my eyes and I have developed more of that "gunk" in my eyes when I sleep, but it seems to go away with use of the eyedrops). One of my eyes is slightly weaker than the other.
Avatar n tn Thankyou so much for your reply! i went to the doctors yesterday and after i did some research on the two drops you mentioned and i found patanol eye drops here on prescription in australia, which contains the same active ingredient as pataday drops just in a two drops twice a day method because its only 1mg not 2.22mg like pataday, i have done 2 doses of the drops and on my lord they are awesome! the redness has settled right down much quicker than in the past!
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar m tn There can be many causes but for many folks it is jsut something they live with and control with there are flareups, but those of affected with it have to learn to live with it. In my case I have to use a steroid ointment. But when it flare up there is absolutely nothing I could have done to prevent it. I stopped wearing any eye makeup years ago, etc.
Avatar n tn If your optometrist says you are a candidate for contact lens use and prescribes non-toric lenses that fit properly, you can use a 'normal' (non-toric) contact even if you have mild astigmatism. That said, please be sure to have contacts fitted by a professional optometrist. Lenses that don't fit your eyes properly can cause damage to your cornea and overall eye health. I use 'normal' (i.e. not toric) soft contact lenses and I have astigmatism of -1.
Avatar f tn My eye has cleared up fine now, but I want to know if you know what might have been wrong with it? And will it happen again if my contacts go back in? Will I need a new type of contacts, or a new solution?
Avatar n tn I opened a new pair of contacts and used them for two days with no problems. When I woke up the third day my eye was bright red again. I have been wearing glasses and occasionally trying to go back to contacts but I keep having the same problem. Could this be from the solution? Also, this began with a new box of contacts and in less than a month I have used a 3 month supply of contacts from continuously throwing them away.
20830596 tn?1554933789 Depending on how important you feel contacts are you can spend a lot more time and money with some chance of damaging your eye. Remember an eye that waters a lot is a form of dry eye. The EyeMD name is Ocular surface disorder. Two forms. No tears is Aqueous deficiency (I have and am on restasis) and the eyes water all the time.
