A big help to me with the irritation from cathing is to use lidocaine on the catherter. YOu can get a script for this! The lidocaine gel though does also contain methly paraben not an issue to most just me.., so I get MSM gel from Jaocb's lab compounded with lidocaine! In the beginning I would also put a cool or cold compress of ice on the urethra after cathing! I no longer need that! To make sure you have gotten all the urine out move it a little and wait etc.

I scheduled an appointment with my doctor just this past Saturday 7/9/16. He prescribed me Bactrum to kill any remaining bacteria from the bladder infection and fluconazole for my beginning signs of a yeast infection. s the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
