Can i take ranitidine with omeprazole

Common Questions and Answers about Can i take ranitidine with omeprazole

zantac

Avatar n tn Now, two years later my gastritis symptoms have come back (heartburn and nausea), and I read somewhere that I can take omeprazole AND ranitidine on the same day (but not the same time) so I've been taking the 20 mg Omeprazole in the am before breakfast and a 75mg ranitidine in the pm before dinner, which has worked quiet well.
Avatar f tn I am on ranitidine twice a day. I was still having problems. My doctor told me to take a tblsp. of apple cider vinegar in eight ounces of water and sip it throughout the day. I first refused but then got desperate. It was horrible a first but it did the job and I got used to the taste. I tried stopping the ranitidine but it was a bad experiment. Together the two do me fine. barb64 http://www.*************.
Avatar n tn I have finally found relief for the constipation that goes with this. I now take 2 omeprazole a day, 4 domperidone--a motility drug, and a Zantac before bed. I have tried ginger capsules and all kinds of natural supplements, plus tums, etc. Any suggestions? I have had a bezoar when digestion just stopped, gall bladder out--infection in that. I feel like I have morning sickness all the time!
Avatar n tn Take some OTC antacid like Mylanta. You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec (omeprazole). These will help. Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms worsen then it may be due to H.Pylori infection. You need antibiotics in that case after prescription from a physician. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn azelastine and fluticasone. She also put me on Ranitidine. I also use the nedi-pod. I started feeling better, but after the 30 day supply, I began feeling it all come back. Saw GI and he put me on Dexilant 30 day supply and that did not help. I went back to ENT. She put me back on everything plus methlprednisolone (6 day). I started feeling better for a good month. Even stopped the sleeping pill. Then I started feeling it all come back. Went to ER after a weekend of suffering.
Avatar m tn You could try some OTC acid reflux meds to start with. I would suggest something with ranitidine or omeprazole. You can take both of them. omeprazole should be taken early in the day to mid afternoon and the ranitidine works best at night. If these don't work, ask your doctor for spirometry or methocholine chalenge. If they do work, you should ask your dr for an endoscope to check for lessions in the esopagus because of the long time you have had the symptoms. Feel better.
Avatar m tn I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.
Avatar n tn I wonder whether I can just take Sulfasalazine and avoid Naproxen (pain killer) and Omeprazole (acid reducer) if pain is within my endurance level. I really dont want to upset my stomach by flooding with drugs. By the way, can the disease damage any joints in the later years even though drugs are being taken to control it. What are the percentage of recovery or is there any case of having full recovery.
Avatar f tn Told my doc and she prescribed me Ranitidine to take 2x s day. It totally helped! i noticed it works better if u take it before u eat. Ask your doc about it and if u gwt it hopefully it will help u like it helped me.
Avatar n tn is there anything I can suggest to my doctors to look at next, or another drug I can try since the only thing that gives me relief is sublingual nitroglycerin and I go through 100 of those a month ? Thanks for ANY suggestions, I am desperate.
Avatar m tn He says it is all to do with too much acid in my stomach which is causing all the pain and discomfort. He has give me some Ranitidine 150mg to take twice a day as well as the omeprazole. I also went for blood tests today to check for Helicobacter pylori. I'm to go back to see the doctor when i finish the cause of Ranitidine and find out the blood test results and what will happen next. 1088529 tn?1256844030 if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself. Please help, I don't want to get sick without something to treat it. Thanks!

Avatar m tn I am going to request as appointment with an ent soon as i am still burping and having a slight sore throat even though i have cut out caffeine, coffee, chocolate, fat, etc. I don't smoke, drink, nor am i overweight. Mine started after i got my first menstrual after having twins. I'm thinking it's either hormonal or i developed a hiatal hernia during my pregnancy....
Avatar f tn This initially presented as bouts of quite severe indigestion that I tried to treat with over the counter antacid tablets with no success. I then developed upper abdominal discomfort particularly after eating. My GP recommended trying ranitidine which didn't really help & I've now started to get a recurrent sore throat & a feeling of pressure around my breastbone area.
Avatar f tn About a year ago I developed what I thought was the flu. I went to the dr. Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems.
Avatar f tn I’ve taken omeprazole, carafate and ranitidine but it doesn’t seem to help. I know I need to do an endoscopy and I had one scheduled but I had no one to take me because honestly I’m alone in all of this, my family isn’t very supportive and I have no one to drive me 40 mins to the GI for the endoscopy. I was hoping someone could help.
Avatar f tn About 6-8 months ago I started having a lot of nausea especially after eating, acid reflux taste in my mouth, and this has progressed to epigastric stomach pain as well. My GI doc has me on Omeprazole, Ranitidine, and Amitriptaline. I have tried natural supplements as well. Now I am back having more testing completed to see if this is reflux or something else. Can they do a 4th Nissen if it is reflux? Nervous about my options. Any info/help is appreciated Thanks!!

Avatar f tn Hello, I've been having some stomach issues and I'm not sure what's going on. So here's my medical history...about three weeks ago I woke up with stomach pain. The pain was sharp and lasted for all day. by time I made it to the doctors that day the pain subsided. I also went to the doc for a lump on my inner left buttock. The doc prescribed my antibiotics and ranitidine. I took the antibiotics and the lump/bump went away, but I never took the ranitidine.

Avatar n tn So many ibuprofen tablets can cause severe acidity. Take and antacid gel and a drug like omeprazole or ranitidine to lower the acid in the stomach. Drinking chilled milk also helps at times. Apart from this eat light bland diet like toast, crackers etc at frequent intervals. It is equally important to consult a doctor immediately. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar n tn I have had nausea and mild upper abdominal pain with a burning sensation for about 2 months now. The nausea gets worse at night when i'm lying down. When its worse I can also feel acid/vomit? at the back of my throat and it becomes difficult to swallow. I have also developed a cough with loads of mucus being coughed up. I have had mild heartburn for a few years now, it hasnt seemed to have got worse in the last 2 months though.
19501685 tn?1478887405 I have been dealing with seeing blood in saliva (tiny specs - one or two) mostly in the morning. I have been to the doctors for CBCs, clotting times, have had 2 chest xrays and 1 chest CT scan - all normal per the pulmonologist. Suffer from Gerd but started taking omeprazole when this all started after going to the ER a couple of months ago. I also had an endoscopy done as well as a nasolaringoscopy where only irritation was found.
