1210142 tn?1266077031 Taking Diltiazem, Lisinopril, Aspirin and Ranitidine as well. Have been having constant stomach and chest pains and the doctors are not able to find the cause- at least they don’t think it is a cardiac one./the chest pains/ My gastroenterologist suggested I stop taking Ranitidine and switch to Pantroprazole. I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole.
Avatar n tn Now, two years later my gastritis symptoms have come back (heartburn and nausea), and I read somewhere that I can take omeprazole AND ranitidine on the same day (but not the same time) so I've been taking the 20 mg Omeprazole in the am before breakfast and a 75mg ranitidine in the pm before dinner, which has worked quiet well.
Avatar f tn I am currently on omeprazole AND ranitidine at the same time and it hasn't even touched my acid reflux in the slightest, either of them, so my Dad has paid for me to go private next week cos I am pregnant an really suffering at the moment.
Avatar n tn The GI doc has me switching off omeprazole (prilosec) in the morning and ranitidine (zantac) before bed. Switching the two helps and of course watching what I eat and drink, Right now I am uncomfortable from my dinner - the giant milk shake was a bit too much milk and sugar for me. I have no saage advice for this one.... but can definitely commiserate.
Avatar m tn I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.
Avatar n tn Take some OTC antacid like Mylanta. You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec (omeprazole). These will help. Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms worsen then it may be due to H.Pylori infection. You need antibiotics in that case after prescription from a physician. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn He says it is all to do with too much acid in my stomach which is causing all the pain and discomfort. He has give me some Ranitidine 150mg to take twice a day as well as the omeprazole. I also went for blood tests today to check for Helicobacter pylori. I'm to go back to see the doctor when i finish the cause of Ranitidine and find out the blood test results and what will happen next. Rennies are chewable tablets for releif of heartburn and indegestion.
Avatar f tn Hello, This can be due to having intercourse after meals. First of all, have a gap of around 2 hours between meals and retiring to bed. Also try raising the head of your bed about four inches with blocks. It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for two hours before you lie down. To help control the stomach acid, one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them, or eat chocolate or spicy or greasy foods . Take some OTC antacid like Mylanta.
1088529 tn?1256844030 Avoid heavy meals and take frequent small ones. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole). These will help.If the symptoms persist then a gastroenterologist’s opinion will be the best. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or of you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Avatar f tn About 6-8 months ago I started having a lot of nausea especially after eating, acid reflux taste in my mouth, and this has progressed to epigastric stomach pain as well. My GI doc has me on Omeprazole, Ranitidine, and Amitriptaline. I have tried natural supplements as well. Now I am back having more testing completed to see if this is reflux or something else. Can they do a 4th Nissen if it is reflux? Nervous about my options. Any info/help is appreciated Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Granted my anxiety was through the roof and that could’ve been the cause of all this. I’ve had a CT scan, ultra sound and blood work done and it all came back normal but this pain hasn’t gone away. I’ve taken omeprazole, carafate and ranitidine but it doesn’t seem to help.
Avatar m tn You could try some OTC acid reflux meds to start with. I would suggest something with ranitidine or omeprazole. You can take both of them. omeprazole should be taken early in the day to mid afternoon and the ranitidine works best at night. If these don't work, ask your doctor for spirometry or methocholine chalenge. If they do work, you should ask your dr for an endoscope to check for lessions in the esopagus because of the long time you have had the symptoms. Feel better.
Avatar m tn So, I decided to rstrict going to the toilet and try to hold the urge for at least two hours between visits. Low and behold it worked. I found, with a little will power, I could reverse the frequent visits, and now I go every 4 or 5 hours and perhaps once during the night. It turned out to be a developed habit after all.
Avatar f tn I have been on and off Nexium and Omeprazole off and on since 2015. I have had 2 endoscopies. The one in 2015 showed a small hiatal hernia and mild gastritis and the one in 2017 did not show a hernia and looked pretty good. I am grateful for any help.
Avatar f tn t been on ranitidine long, i recently swapped from omeprazole which did nothing for me to ranitidine, so im still giving it some time before i rule out whether its working or not (although so far im not feeling much difference) I didn't realise that food intolerances may not come up in blood work, thanks for that information! seeing an actual gi doctor will be my next step.
Avatar f tn Told my doc and she prescribed me Ranitidine to take 2x s day. It totally helped! i noticed it works better if u take it before u eat. Ask your doc about it and if u gwt it hopefully it will help u like it helped me.
Avatar f tn I have the same problem which I, too, thought might be caused by Omeprazole. I did find, like CalGal, a link between Omeprazole and a cough, and it was also causing itchy skin down my spine area. Changing my PPI to Lansoprazole recently has not made the slightest difference, and I continue to cough all day and all night, a dry, irritating cough. I also have gastritis, oesophagitis, a Hiatus hernia, none of which had been symptomatic other than nausea, and a lack of desire to eat.
Avatar n tn Nothing works, have tried omeprazole, famotidine, reglan, antacids, ranitidine, and others. My lower throat feels like it cramps and I can't breathe, then the blood and oxygen rushing to deal with that makes my heart start pounding. I am wondering: is there anything I can suggest to my doctors to look at next, or another drug I can try since the only thing that gives me relief is sublingual nitroglycerin and I go through 100 of those a month ? Thanks for ANY suggestions, I am desperate.
19501685 tn?1478887405 I have been dealing with seeing blood in saliva (tiny specs - one or two) mostly in the morning. I have been to the doctors for CBCs, clotting times, have had 2 chest xrays and 1 chest CT scan - all normal per the pulmonologist. Suffer from Gerd but started taking omeprazole when this all started after going to the ER a couple of months ago. I also had an endoscopy done as well as a nasolaringoscopy where only irritation was found.
Avatar f tn i was feeling ok for a few months then suddenly i developed nausea a week ago and the doctor prescibed tinidizole with acidity tablets. i took for 3 days along with my homeopathy medicine but i still feel heaviness in my head when i lie down so im not able to sleep. kindly advice me what to do.
Avatar n tn ve taken five to six different kinds of medication to treat GERDS including Ranitidine and Omeprazole. If I took the Omeprazole at night by the morning my mouth sensation was even worse so I only took the pills during the day however none of them made any difference. Right now I'm using Neilmed Sinus Rinse twice a day and two puffs of Nasacort in each nostril twice a day. This also doesn't seem to really be doing anything.
Avatar f tn I!m a 50 year old perimenapausal women & recently have been experiencing problems that my GP thinks are caused by acid reflux. This initially presented as bouts of quite severe indigestion that I tried to treat with over the counter antacid tablets with no success. I then developed upper abdominal discomfort particularly after eating.
Avatar f tn It is makin me SO miserable. I have tried gavison, peptac, drinking milk, drinking water, omeprazole, ranitidine and nothing seems to be touching it!!! :( please help ? :( Like i say i am only 22 years old. My dad has an acid reflux.
393685 tn?1425812522 Six REAL martinis? Not cyber ones??? WOW! I'd have been on my lips....(and have been before once or twice...) LOL! I take generic Zantac for heartburn. It's called Ranitidine. Much less expensive and works great!~ Still laughing about the SIX martinis......
Avatar n tn You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole). These will help. Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a physician. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.
