Common Questions and Answers about Can i take maxalt and excedrin

maxalt

Avatar f tn Yeah try to take a nap in a dark quiet room with an ice pack on your fore head and eyes, and take tylenol to help also. It just might work then.
1806721 tn?1554333407 And for the dizziness and nausea....this is going to sound crazy but I swear it works....Meclizine. You can take one 3 times daily. And it is OTC but you have to get at a pharmacy I have never been pregnant so, I cannot say those meds are safe...but, you don't have to wait for your OB to call back....any Pharmacist will be able to tell you! Other non-medical options are.....ice or heat pack, whichever is more comfy for you. Use a bandanna or cloth headband and wear around your head.
Avatar m tn I hear Excedrin Migraine is good...I have migraines also, I'm going to pick some up for next time I have one.
655875 tn?1295695107 ve been also taking percocet in place of the maxalt, but it does not work as well for the headaches. Is there something I can do to try and prevent these migraines? Are there other natural alternatives rather then medication?
Avatar f tn I have really bad migraines. I used to take Excedrin before I found out I was pregnant as it was practically the only medicine that works since I couldn't take ibuprofen because of my blood problems I had when I was a younger. However when I went to my obgyn and asked what else I could take stronger than Tylenol, she said nothing. Not while pregnant. Just Tylenol.
Avatar m tn I find that if I drink very strong coffee just as a migraine is coming on, I can abort it. Once it really takes hold it is too late for coffee. I also have identified certain triggers, one of which is having alcohol if I am overheated and feeling logy (such as on a hot summer day). Just staying in the hot sun without a hat can sometimes do it too.
6323845 tn?1381188828 I am 7 weeks pregnant and normally take excedrine for my migraines but I looked it up and it can cause a miscarriage what is something safe I can take or just something natural that would help?
Avatar m tn I cahnged my vivelle dot yesterday afternoona nd went to a party last night. I ate during the evening and drank alcohol. I woke up around 3 a.m. with an unbeleivable migraine as well as the most extreme nausea that I have ever had. Then, I began throwing up avey 15-20 minutes for several hours. My maxalt didn't help my migraine. I finally removed the patch, took some migraine Excedrin and slept most of the day. My vomiting did stop late in the morning but I still ahve a pretty bad headache.
Avatar f tn Hello, My doctor added a lidocaine nasal spray compound to my med. list. I try it first, if it doesn't work, i take maxalt melt tabs. My migraines are very severe and i have too many triggers too name, some i am not even aware of. My family docs have never heard of this spray, so if you want the whole name to tell your doc to try it let me know. it has helped me. If i can ever not take po meds and avoid rebound headaches i am all for it!!! Good Luck!
Avatar n tn Please keep us posted on how you are doing and I hope you feel better soon and can get back to enjoying reading time. Take care.
Avatar f tn When I have a migraine I am light and sound affected. Sometimes I feel sick to my stomach and I see spots. I also kept a migraine diary and that didn't really help. Any ideas of new pills or anything that could possible get past these migraines would be amazing! Thanks!
Avatar f tn does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.
Avatar f tn I just saw this and felt I must add my 2 cents (for whatever it's worth!). I too have had severe migraines for 39 (gasp) years. Imitrix was a life saver for me, but I tried many daily meds that were supposed to help (beta blockers, small doze anitdepressants, Topamax, etc.) Nothing worked. I was given Fioricet when pregnant (can't take Imitrix then). Later on, I got it again and also got hooked by the Butalbital.
673746 tn?1226010997 I am a 29 year old female and I have been suffering from severe migraines since I had my daughter (4 years ago). Since about 4 months ago my migraines have gotten more frequent and intense and now I have also been experiencing severe RIGHT eye pain (pressure like). My vision in the RIGHT eye when I suffered the pain and shortly after becomes very blurry (very obvious when trying to see at a distance).
3837157 tn?1348286069 I took a .5mg Xanex for anxiety about 12 hours ago, but now have a killer headache and want to take an Excedrin for it. Will there be any complications or has the Xanex worked it's way out of my system yet? 21 year old male, about 290lb, don't drink, haven't smoked in a year, no recreational drug use.
Avatar f tn The fact the headaches are severe and respond to Excedrin and not the others is some suggestion it could be migraines, but mild ones as you don't report blurry vision or nausea and migraines are really bad headaches.
Avatar f tn your body is still healing. I tried excedrin migraine and it helped me a whole lot and still is cause I get some major migraines. hang in there this to shall pass congrats on your clean time getting to day four is a major accomplishment each day you will get better as everyone told me it takes time to get where we were and it takes time to get back. try not to get stressed out cause that will cause migraines as well.
Avatar f tn I also get migraines. have you paid attention to any of the known migraine "triggers" like red wiine & chocolate, hard cheeses etc. You probably have but I thought I'd mention it. Like the others, I take Maxalt for mine & it always works. Maxalt is from the migraine interrupter family & also includes imetrix & Zomig. Good luck - it sounds very difficult.
1930941 tn?1400107522 Hey, congrats on 27 days, that's wonderful! I agree with ImDone and Ricart, Excedrin and Tylenol are excellent. I suffer from chronic migraine and if the pain is too bad my Dr. prescribes Toradol (not Tramadol) it's non-narcotic and it's great for pain, if you're not allergic to aspirin maybe you can give it a try.
Avatar f tn I am now 31 and sometimes they get real bad. I have a few neurofibromas along my scalp that I can feel whenever I comb my hair, and was just curious.
Avatar m tn Typically, I only get about 2 headache attacks a year, but they have been occurring with increasing frequency the past year or two (I have had 2 in the last 3 months). I do not have light sensitivity during an attack and I do not ever feel the pain on my face. I have felt the pain in multiple spots on my head in more severe attacks, but I usually only have one or two spots of pain per attack.
