My experience has been that while I feel better, I do not feel like I did before I had RA. I have learned to live with it and accepted that, until there is a cure, this is as good as it gets - a much better place to be than it sounds.
Your best bet to minimize/prevent further joint damage is to stick to your medication therapy.
Friday night out of nowhere I just got attacked with sickness. I thought it was just a cold, but now I can tell it's a sinus infection. I've been taking what cold medicine I know is safe hoping it would help a little, but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. Anyone know of anything I can do to get some relief? I haven't slept well at all the last two nights and I need some rest.
My teenage son has been taking injectable methotrexate without preservatives for his arthritis (juvenile spondyloarthropathy) for several months, and tolerating it fine. However, there is a severe shortage of methotrexate without preservatives, and when I went to fill his prescription last time, I was only able to get methotrexate with preservatives.
I was actually specifically told by my OB/GYN not to take folic acid with methotrexate. There is debate that it actually interferes with the methotrexate. Even if it doesn't, folic acid is supposed to assist with cell division so it would counteract the entire point of taking the methotrexate, which attacks rapidly dividing cells. Unless you have an underlying issue you will not become deficient by skipping your folic acid supplementation until your ectopic has been dealt with.
I've been on Amoxicillin for 5 days for a tooth abscess. I went to the dentist for significant facial swelling, and was diagnosed with the abscess. The swelling has gone down, however I now have a pus pocket on my gum above my molars. It's only painful when I touch it, but I can see the swelling under my cheek when I smile. Since I'm already on Amoxicillin, can I pop the abscess using a sterilized needle? It's Friday night, and the dentist won't be in until Monday...

You can always call your OB and ask them if you are not certain. Normally if you tell your MD that you are pregnant they will ensure that they prescribe something that is safe for baby but always check with your OB to be sure.

Since taking the methotrexate at the full dose of 1 ML, I have noticed that I wake up with my heart racing and sometimes this seems to last most of the day if not all. It isn't horrible but never the less, it is there and I am aware of it. Could this be a coincidence or is it a matter of my medication for anxiety/panic isn't working as well as it should.
I have taken Prozac with success in the past. Currently I take a different drug. BUT I also take folic acid to counter the effects of methotrexate for RA and I don't feel it has had any effect on making my OCD worse. Honestly, over the counter medication I have not had much success with. I think the first thing to do is learn cognitive behavioral therapy and then if you are still having problems, then you can introduce medication.
can you take amoxicillin if it exspired in january of 2009, i dont have insurance and had a few left over from my teeth and need to take them if i can. could someone please help me with this?
Take Enbrel once a week and am supposed to take 5mg. injectible of methotrexate weekly. I had gone without the methotrexate for at least six months and have not noticed any difference at all. I am scared to death of the methotrexate. Can anyone explain why my doctor wants me to continue it if it does not seem to make a difference? I do great on the Enbrel by itself, but am sure there are reasons, I just don't understand!
I know that I should still get tested to be safe, and I plan on doing that as soon as I have the money (dental work kinda drained my funds for now)
My question is though, can I at least have some peace of mind that if I were infected with chlamydia, the Amoxicillin would take care of the infection? As I said I know that I should still get tested, and I plan to on pay day, but I would just like some insight.
I am not sure if it would be the same with you or not since you are having a miscarriage. I can tell you that with methotrexate I was advised not to take any vitamins especially folic acid b/c it does the opposite effect of the methotrexate as Folic Acid promotes cell development. You may want to talk to your doctor about if he wants you to build your folic acid back up after the Methotrexate before trying. Also I had a natural m/c earlier this year and had bleeding for about 2-3 weeks.

Also, I know there is some risk of transmitting an infection through unprotected vaginal sex even without ejaculation, but how high is that risk? Is it the same as with ejaculation?
