can contractions just stop

The girl I nannied for she had contractions like that. they were full blown contractions and then just stopped and then a day later they started again and she ended up having her baby.

I don't agree, stress can stop labour (up to a point), which is why so many women labour well at home, then go to l&d and end up getting sent home again because everything has stopped. Generally your body wants to feel like it's in a safe place before it has the baby. Though it's not going to hang on forever obviously.

So i came to the hospital cause i started bleeding and i was 1dilated i been here since 6 they monitor me and i was still 1cm dilated soo they gave me a medicine to stop my contractions is that ok?

So I had them regular for 2 days then yesterday started losing my plug. Went to the hospital just to get checked and my contractions were like every 3 minutes. They kept me. J had to get an iv and 3 shots to help stop the contractions!!! Thank god they slowed down and I was able to come home! Still uncomfortable but hoping she will stay in for a couple weeks more!!

m from Aus too! I think they can stop an early labour here depending the circumstances (how early, how long you've been in labour for etc) but I don't really know the details...

She said it is normal because the baby is getting larger and pushing on different organs. She said it will stop around 20wks and then start again around 32 and stop right when you are ready to go into labor.

Just keeping walking, if you have stairs walk up and down them and if you feel contractions dnt stop walking. Thats how i got myself to dialate was walking through the contractions, kind of took the pain off my mind as well.

It is possible, but they will continue to stop contractions till you are closer to 37 weeks. This is my 4th baby and I have gone ito premature labor twice already. Once at 32 weeks and again at 34 weeks, doctors stopped it both times. Now that I am 36 weeks they have decided to not stop it again should it happen cause of being so close to 37 weeks. yes I would call the hospital as if they are contractions which I think they are if you wat a couple of hours you will probab ly have started dialting and they wont be able to stop it, its much better if they can stop the contractions, just make sure your well hydrated as being dehydrated can cause contractions but how you have described them, they sound like the real deal, explain how they are to the nurse, exactly how you have here, make sure you say that movement or a warm bath doesnt stop th

I have gone into preterm labor twice because of stress. You should go to the hospital so they can stop the contractions, although they will probably end up telling you to drink more water and lay on your left side.

Now if u think its the real contractions u have to go to the hospital so u can get treated and stop the contractions. Ur way to early. But if they stop it just false labour some ppl get them very early and dehydrated makes it more painful then what they should be.
