Avatar n tn Between December 2002 and October 2005, 189 non-diabetic patients were treated with Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba, of whom five developed type 1 DM (2.6%), three type 2 DM (1.6%) and one an indeterminate type of DM. Classical symptoms of DM were present in three patients who developed DM shortly after cessation of Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba. In the other patients, symptoms of DM were either indistinguishable from side effects caused by Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba or absent.
198504 tn?1195158059 I was able to get off the phen in less than 2 weeks. Once my body adjusted to less food/cals, I no longer needed it. BTW, I was only taking one pill a day but did find I was hungry at night (a bad habit from nibbling late hours even when not hungry) so I took half in the a.m. and then the other half later in the day. Hence...no late night jitters. Consider doing it this way and see what happens.

Avatar f tn My dr. recently prescribed Metformin (500 mg 2x/day) and Phentermine (37.5 mg/day). I started the meds approximately a week ago. I was told the Phen would give me all of this energy and that the Metformin would keep me in the bathroom a lot until my body adjusted, but I have had neither really. The first couple of days on the Phen I had a boost of energy, which I loved, but it quickly faded. I am now constantly tired, no matter how much sleep I get.
Avatar f tn You can take mucinex, robitussin, vapor rub.. Tylenol for pain.. cough drops..
Avatar n tn If you have *any* supplies, talk to your doc about how to stretch them safely to get out of the danger you are in. High levels of sustained urine ketones may be the "tip of the iceberg." It seems to me that whatever you are doing is not working and only a medical doctor skilled in Type 1 care can guide you to better match your food, exercise, stress, health issues with your body's need for insulin. Please do NOT delay in turning around your situation.
11215421 tn?1424926798 You can also take mucinex. And Tylenol severe cold and flu. Both work very well.
Avatar f tn You can also take benadryl at night it will help you get some sleep I took robitussin dm for the cough when I needed it and benadryl at night. Also drink plenty of orange juice or eat oranges for the vitamin c will make you feel better.
Avatar n tn s some info from the JDRF website on how we can minimize our risks for not only gastroparesis, but also other forms of neuropathy. You can find info about this & other diabetes issues at www.jdrf.org. =============================== Lowering Your Risk The development of neuropathy appears to be directly related to the duration of a person's diabetes and the level of blood glucose (sugar) control.
Avatar f tn 4 months ago, my 11 year old daughter was diagnosed to have juvenile DM - insulin dependent Type I DM and since then was put on insulin injections. her c peptide was recently taken and revealed a result of 35.4 ng/ml with serum insulin IRMA of 18.8 u IU / ml and fasting blood sugar of 131 mg / dl. what do these values reveal of her condition?
Avatar f tn I caught a cold or something last Saturday, the only symptoms is stuffy nose and sore throat well I woke up this morning and my voice is coming in and out and my throat still feels The same.
Avatar n tn By May I gained 3lbs, and Phen-phen (30mg) was added to my regimen. By mid-June I gained another 2lbs, and my doctor took me off the Levothyroxine. I am seeing a nutritionist, still on the Phen-phen, and a daily Vitamin B shots. By July 23rd, gained 2.4 lbs; no longer on Levothyroxine, still seeing the nutritionists and I am back to being extremely fatigue, lightheaded, chronic itchness, and not focused(it seems as my brain and mouth are at a disconnect). My life has been turned outside down.

Avatar f tn It will allow you to monitor sugar level trends and follow your pet’s sugar levels accurately and cost effectively. You can also add a box at the end of each day to mark down any important signs you noticed in your pet that day such as appetite, energy levels, attitude, water consumption, frequency of urinating, etc. Whenever you visit your vet bring your chart along and review it with your vet.
Avatar n tn DM is very very common among Shepherds(especially the old German bred lines), and can have effects on the kidneys(I forget what exactly), and produce a high ACTH level, which is what they measure to diagnose cushings. Has he been tested to rule out DM? Why do they think CA over DM?
Avatar f tn I was told by my doctor robotusin was one of the things that you can actually take.
Avatar n tn You are likely developing hives as an allergic reaction. It could be from the phentermine, but could also be a reaction to something you ate or came in contact with, such a new soap, detergent, or lotion. Since the rash developed 3 days after starting phentermine, it's not likely the cause - allergic reactions usually develop soon after taking the medication.
Avatar f tn Goodness, hope you are consulting MD before tapering or stoppping AD and AA meds. Hydrochlorathiazide is a diuretic. Should have labs to make sure potassium doesn't get too low. Just asking, but did you tell them at the weight loss clinic about the antidepressants and anxiety meds you were taking?. Discuss with MD that prescribed anti-depress/anxiety meds. I guess I am afraid of diet pills after the ruckus with Phen-phen.
Avatar n tn Even with that in mind, there are still risks involved. It is very important to get in touch with a doctor who handles high-risk pregnancies just to ensure the best result for you and your baby just as LRS stated. She gave you some great information to follow. Just keep working on lowering your a1c and keep a close eye on your diabetes. As LRS said, do your homework and read all you can. Please come back and keep us posted. Thanks.
Avatar n tn HI, I had a baby 9 months ago and would like to lose some weight manily due to high blood pressure. I have been researching that vitamins b-2, b-3, b-5, & B-6 all help with this. I was wondering if anyone know if it is safe to take these supplements? I am healthy but currently don't have insurance to go talk to a doctor. has anyone tried this way also. i refuse to do diet pills because they don't work. Or if you have any other ideas?
Avatar n tn I agree with "dm." Your granddaughter is lucky to have you in her corner ... and lucky that you were willing to indulge her interest in seeing how it feels. The numbers seem high to me (I'm not a physician either) and so it's a good opportunity to talk with her parents and her doctor. It'd be very helpful to also note other symptoms that "dm" mentioned and to jot down notes about patterns.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you need to see a psychiatrist who can prescribe something for these symtoms. I had anxiety attacks, years ago. I went to a hypnotist. I really helped, I have never had them again. I do get anxious at times, but nothing like I did before. Exercise is great. Also Vit. B.
Avatar f tn weird enough it actually helped cuz it stopped my sneezing which stopped drainage so it gave me a chance to get over it. I also took a lot of vitamin C and took a warm bath with the cold and allergy bath salts. It helped out a lot. Also try getting a bowl of steamy water and put a spoobful of Vicks vapor rub in it, stir til dissolves. Put a towel over ur head and hold ur head a few inches above the bowl. It clears it up.
Avatar f tn If your heart is pounding he might have you wear an even monitor so you can catch the pounding on it so it can be evaluated. Phentermine is a stimulant and directly affects the heart. For those of us with arrythmias, it is something we stay far away from. When you add phentermine and stress together, you've got a double dose of adrenaline. Other things that might irritate it are caffeine, liquor, or choclate.
6410823 tn?1381066669 You really need to consult with your doctor and you may also need to lose some weight. I hope you get a dietician to help you after you see your doctor, please keep me updated.
