248382 tn?1274938634 So it is perhaps surprising that in a 10-nation 1990 survey on the level of satisfaction with the national healthcare system, the United States ranked 10th.[2] These results were then reproduced a decade later.[3] Although Americans believe the US system is the best, clearly they are not as satisfied with the healthcare they receive as are citizens of other countries. 684676 tn?1503186663 The fact is that all modern industrialized nations have some form of universal healthcare aside from the unfortunate exception of United States. The result? We have the most expensive healthcare with nothing impressive to show for. The thing is, there are countries with better healthcare than Canada or the United States. One particular country stands out amongst all the others: it's Japan.

Avatar m tn I have called my doctor numeroud times for the shortness of breath and to see if there is something I can switch to that would not have the same effects with the fatigue and shortness of breath, she assured me that the Bystolic does not exhibit those effects and it could not be the Bystolic doing this to me that the medication has no side effects that I need to be worried about. Yet online all of what I am feeling are stated as side effects of the medication.
Avatar f tn Such spending seems important. Since 2001, 2,996 people in the United States have died from terrorism – all as a result of the 9/11 attacks. In that same period of time, 490,000 people have died from prescription drugs, not counting the Vioxx scandal. That means that prescription drugs in this country are at least 16,400 percent deadlier than terrorism. Again, those are the conservative numbers.
Avatar f tn I don't know about Miami but United Healthcare covered 100% of my IVF for up to 3 attempts. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!

Avatar f tn My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.

Avatar f tn Finding affordable healthcare without insurance may seem daunting, but there are more options than you may think.Yes, you can get medical care if you don’t have health insurance. In the United States, hospital emergency rooms are required to provide treatment regardless of insurance or ability to pay. Additionally, there are many medical facilities that provide routine care to people who don’t have insurance.

Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
Avatar f tn Studies have shown Nexium to be consistently the most effective but it is more expensive and not always covered by every health insurance plan. United Healthcare for example does not cover Nexium.
Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
