I know that many drugs are now used Off Label....meaning they were originally developed, manufactured and intended to treat one condition but were found useful for other conditions and are now prescribed accordingly. Bystolic (Nebivolol) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure.

that is pretty strong stuff and using it for sleep is way off label. It is a drug for bipolar disorder and now also used for major depressive disorder. i would switch to ambien or a drug made for sleep.

For genotype 1 patients who cannot take interferon, the panel recommends sofosbuvir plus the HCV protease inhibitor simeprevir (Olysio), with or without ribavirin, again for 12 weeks. This off-label regimen has not been through full Phase 3 testing, but performed very well in the Phase 2 COSMOS trial.

Did your doctor prescribe it to you for this? If not, STOP right now...'experimenting' with prescription medications, which are extremely addictive can NEVER have good outcomes.

They all have reported feeling better daily - this off label approach is a God Send! Now I will finish out the 12 weeks - they will do the viral load test again at that time and then 12 weeks post treatment test again to declare me officially SVR!!! NO HORRIBLE INTERFERON OR RIBAVARIN THIS TIME FOR ME!!

Hi welcome to the Hepatitis C community Olysio per the prescribing information sheet is intended to be used with interferon and Ribavirin. The same applies to Sovaldi. Per prescription they are not used together. However there have been clinical trials using them together "off label" and they have been shown to be highly effective when used together. You can web search for Cosmos clinical trial cohort 1 and cohort 2 to see study results.

•Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.

He is taking me off of the Bystolic and placing me on the new stuff. Found it interesting that the Carvedilol is an Alpha / Beta combo. I intend on asking him next visit, just curious. Thanks for the response.

If I need to get off my Bystolic and onto another Beta Blocker or Calcium Channel blocker. How does that work and don't people get rebound tachycardia or SVT's is getting back off Beta blockers really hard? I heard that is is quite dangerous. My tachycardia in not under control, nor is my BP. What else is there? Just curious... I am having way too many side effects of them. How does one wean off of 2 times a day 2.5 Bystolic? These tablets are not scored.

Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.

I am a female,age 63 have been on Bystolic for about 2 years have knee and leg pain that seems to be getting worse.Have mentioned this to my Doctor he says not one of listed side effects so he blew me off.

t drain the energy out of me. My Cardio doctor took me off of Bystolic because I was having chest pains - not sure if the Bystolic caused the chest pains or if it was caused from stress - I've been under a lot of stress lately. Let me tell you something about Bystolic. It is wonderful! It lowered my blood pressure and it didn't cause any major side effects. I was on Atenonol (sp?) and I had the worse side effects from taking it.

My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?

It was interesting to hear that someone else had the heavy legs because my doc seemed surprised that I had that as a side effect. It is definitely the bystolic because when I went off it, the fatigue went away.

(on Bystolic, normal HR around 85-95 for 20 years, now running around 120-130 off the Bystolic. Need to come off Bystolic due to having severe burning/tingling in legs). My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.

I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks. I stopped taking it on June 16. Now – I have been off the Bystolic since June 16, but all of the symptoms that developed when I started taking the Bystolic have not gone away yet, nor has my blood pressure risen.

My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?

I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.

i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!

My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
