Bystolic not working

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic not working

bystolic

Avatar m tn I seen my cardiologist today and he found out Bystolic is not available here in canada. I guess it didn't pass our food and drug regulations, so now Im going to try almighty- (Acebutolol) 200mgs twice a day if that doesn't reduce pvc palpitations, bump it up to 400 mgs twice a day.. Im finally going to find out what all the hype is about and if this drug actually works that many people claim. I see the cardio dr.
1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
Avatar n tn added Micartis.....just wonder if my body has become accustomed to the Bystolic and not working as well now.....It did control my B/P....started at 5 mg then went to 10 mg about a year ago.....also very costly......
280234 tn?1532986249 My OB then said I did not have Toxemia. I had a really difficult labor having her, and my BP got really high during the delivery. After the delivery, my BP started running higher than it used to, like about 154/95. I've always had somewhat of a faster heart beat than most people (around 80 beats per minute), but it seemed to get a little faster after that (around 90-110 beats per minute). High BP does run in my family as well.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a similar experience or heard of meds just not working anymore? Mostly just curious....doc put me on bystolic and that works much better for me now.
Avatar n tn What could be causing this? Could it be the bystolic? My former doc put me on bystolic because it is not suppose to caused ED issues. Could it be psychological reasons i'm having ED? A combination of both psychological reasons and the Bystolic? It is hard for me to imagine that my ED would be due to low testosterone or some physiological cause. I am in excellent shape and after all I am young (27). I get health insurance through my new employer February 1st. of this year.
1189366 tn?1265219887 I was having a little more stress than normal and out of the blue, started having thousands a day. The Doctor put me on Zoloft, Xanax and Bystolic. I was doing OK at first but when I went to 100MGs of Zoloft I started to have them every other beat for weeks. 2 weeks ago the Doctor reduced my meds to 25 mgs of Zoloft and 1/4 of the dose of Bystolic. Within a few days, most of my PAC/PVCs have gone away. Has anyone had this experience? I'm still wondering which drug was doing it.
Avatar m tn The question I have is I am taking Bystolic Imdur ER and Lisiniprol which I know the Bystolic keeps the heart rate way down...at what rate should I use for heart rate for training .. My max would normally 158 but I am not sure what changes on meds.......
Avatar f tn I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.
Avatar m tn While taking Bystolic 5mg a couple things occurred that were not on the list of common side effects for this drug. Is the following normal? Blood pressure readings taken in the mornings dropped to the 120s systolic, which was great. But my afternoon blood pressure readings increased from 150s systolic to 170s-180s systolic. The Diastolic remained the same - in the 70s. Second item, with no change in eating habits I had a five pound weight gain within two weeks.
Avatar m tn •Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
Avatar n tn I started taking bystolic about six weeks ago at 10mg, It`s doing a good job of keeping my BP down. I have not noticed any differences in my heart rythyms , Except my heart rate has gone up. I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn Hello! Yes, I am Eating. I have a strong appitite. Eating Beef Steak, Chicken Tenderloins, and pork chops. Veggies like Broccocli, Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagrases. Drinking nearly a gallon of water a day, with Grape juice & orange juice as well. I feel like I am being stabbed in the abdomin with an ice pick. I finished my final round of 30 vancomycin 8 days ago. Do you know what 30 cost? I couldn't believe it. I have a friend in Latvia. 30 there is $14.
Avatar f tn I was also taking Dulera for asthma which I could not tell if it was the bystolic or the dulera giving me the problem. I have stopped both meds and have an appointment with a cardiologist next week. I have always had problems with every class of bp med...I did notice though that the bystolic was giving me a calm feeling and it did drop my blood pressure about 30-40 points....any input on what I should do...
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
214864 tn?1229715239 t drain the energy out of me. My Cardio doctor took me off of Bystolic because I was having chest pains - not sure if the Bystolic caused the chest pains or if it was caused from stress - I've been under a lot of stress lately. Let me tell you something about Bystolic. It is wonderful! It lowered my blood pressure and it didn't cause any major side effects. I was on Atenonol (sp?) and I had the worse side effects from taking it.
Avatar n tn Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.
Avatar m tn Common side effects experienced by people taking Bystolic included headache, fatigue, dizziness, weakness and diarrhea. I have not seen any findings that others are experiencing this side effect. However if you are experiencing joint and muscle pain I would definitely urge you to contact the prescriber and discuss your symptoms. It may be more likely that the Crestor is causing the joint and muscle pain.
Avatar n tn The Beta Blocker Bystolic is to reduce the high blood pressure and the doctor feels that this alone is not enough so has prescribed the Carvedilol which is also a beta blocker to help reduce the blood pressure and for your problem. You should ask the question to your doctor so that he can explain the reasons for putting you on these medications.
Avatar f tn CTucker225 is right FDA approved 12/07. I tried Bystolic for three months it did not work for me. My heart rate increased and had sever dizziness, Had to stop was on 10 mg.
Avatar m tn My worry is my heart beat is too slow for Bystolic. One of their warnings is not to take it if you have a slow heart beat, is mine too slow? I have had spikes in blood pressure releated to stress a few years ago, but when the stress was gone so was the higher blood pressure. I always have had , on occation, a skipping heart beat. I dont know if that matters......Also would Bystolic hamper my workouts?
Avatar m tn s for years, but lately they have become chronic and can interfere with falling asleep or will wake me. My cardiologist prescribed Bystolic 5 mg., but on their web site, they caution people with "irregular heartbeats" not to take it. I called the 800 number they listed, but they couldn't tell me why. It seems to me that if they caution me not to take it, that I shouldn't. Now what?
Avatar f tn I know that you have a nursing background but there are some hypertension specialists forum that mention that bystolic has been around in europe for a while and it is a good choice for those who cannot tolerate beta blockers. Blockers are not first choice treatment for hypertension but bystolic is okay, so a bit puzzled with your comment. And as you may know some people find a substantial decrease in panic and anxiety attacks when their hypertension is brought under control.
