bystolic

Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Bystolic also 10 mgs 1 a day. I had to stop taking it because my dizzy spells got worse, I had been on it two months.
687614 tn?1244197979 Hi, I just wanted to know if other people have taken this Beta Blocker called Bystolic. It seems that I have been having difficulties with it... or may be the symptoms I have are common to all Beta Blockers? I take 2.5 mg 2 times a day... My face is flushed, actually feels like it might blow up. I feel weak, tired, and suffer with sleep disturbances, and extreme nausea, lost 18 pounds in a month.
Avatar m tn My doctor suggested bystolic. It has worked very well for the last year, I have been very pleased with it. In fact, I didn't switch my insurance this year because the alternative company did not want to authorize the use of the bystolic (it's a lot more expensive). I have had no side effects to speak of, much less than the atenolol. I would certainly give it a shot.
Avatar n tn It is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure. If you mean that you are taking Bystolic and it is causing you pain....and according to PCP and literate it should not....I agree with you. Our systems can respond differently then others do to medications. We are all different...and respond differently. If you feel this medication is causing you pain then insist upon a change.
Avatar m tn I do not know what Bystolic is (a heart rhythm drug?), but if it works, it must be right. Here I recall in fighting a night time nasal congestion condition a nose spray like Afrin works great, but don't use it more that a few nights in a row or it will do damage. Just an example, not a tie to the drug you get good results from. Always good to read some good-news, thanks and God Bless right back to you.
1217309 tn?1267050177 Thats what my dad said, he has taken Lexapro for his anxiety and he told me if his dose is too high he feels really strange but as long as they keep it lower, it works good. I am going to try it this weekend when I hav esome time off school, in case I get side effects. I will proably start the Bystolic Friday and the Leaxapro Saturday or Sunday....that way I can tell what side effects go with what...
Avatar m tn So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic. I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing. I also suffer from dizziness but I dont know if this is related.
Avatar f tn until they finally hit on a new medication by Bystolic! I hit the jackpot, it was like night and day! I take 20 mg in the morning with 125 mg of magnesium taurate then 5mg of Norvasc for HTN then take 10 mg of by Bystolic at night with 125 mg of magnesium taurate in between I take .5 Xanax in the morning and at night I have not had one PVC in the last three years I feel like a different human being!
Avatar m tn I seen my cardiologist today and he found out Bystolic is not available here in canada. I guess it didn't pass our food and drug regulations, so now Im going to try almighty- (Acebutolol) 200mgs twice a day if that doesn't reduce pvc palpitations, bump it up to 400 mgs twice a day.. Im finally going to find out what all the hype is about and if this drug actually works that many people claim. I see the cardio dr.
Avatar n tn I also took Bystolic at the 2 and 1/2 mg level a few days and then quit slowly because my bp was too low on it and I felt dizzy.
Avatar m tn I have recently (about 6 weeks) been prescribed the new Betablocker Bystolic at 5mg/day instead of Coreg 6.125mg. Initially it has slightly reduced my heart palpitations which are less forceful, stopped some irregular or PACs and cut out the dreaming side effect of Coreg. However recently I have noticed that the color of my blood (taken to test blood sugar) is a distinct chocolate-brown color similar to whenever I have had to use Nitro tabs/patches for angina attacks.
Avatar n tn m new to the community--not sure how it wors...I started Bystolic 3 days age and before that I was on Amlodipine. For the last year I have been havig all of the symptoms that have been described and now I'm having them with the Bystolic. Talk about slowwww, It's taken me a whole year to figure out that my problem is my medications. I'm gonna have to get in touch with my doctor and have it changed----I've been dealing with this for far too long now.
Avatar f tn Is anyone taking Bystolic for high blood pressure? I had a stress test and my BP was off the charts - Cardiologist said he was watching my BP over my several visits (over a 9 month period). It's been elevated every time I see him - My regular doctor never commented that my BP was high - always within normal range - sorry to say it, I believe that the girls that take the bp in the office, have no clue on how to take it 'properly'. This is my opinion of course.
Avatar f tn I've been on Bystolic for 5 year's, I had a EKG that showed one Artery was partially blocked from " Stress" I get a tightness in my Pectoral muscle and the Bystolic stops it, I'm very Grateful for Bystolic, Hope you find something that helps you! Take Good Care!
Avatar m tn I have been taking bystolic for several years and for me it seems to work much better than atenolol or lopressor, without all the side effects. I have had to up my dosage a couple of times and right at first my stomach will feel a little off and I may get a very slight headache but it goes away quickly.
343006 tn?1314446471 the cardio doctor didnt like ,that my foot was swollen so bad - so he put me on bystolic - after I tryed it sample type at 2.5 mg - I was told it would work fine and wouldnt give me a problem ,not to worry about it ? like I knew ?? well since iv been on it.. seen cardio quack 4 times and he says each time , take it - dont take it , go back on it . guessing at my condition ??
Avatar n tn Is bystolic a new drug? I haven't heard of it. I'm having trouble again with PVCs. I am on Norpace and have used Toprol. I'm at my wits end. I think my heart rate is too slow when resting. Sometimes I feel dizzy. Geez this is so bad. I hate having to go trough this like most all my life.
Avatar f tn Bystolic is usually taken once a day with or without food. You should take it at the same time every day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember but if it is time for the next dose, do not take 2 doses. It may cause dizziness and fatigue, but there are no reports of weight gain with this medication. Do not take with alcohol. Bystolic also does not interact with Fosamax or multivitamins and iron.
Avatar m tn At this time during check in my BP was checked and was a little high. I believe it was somewhere around 151/80. Prior to this appointment I had been having my BP check on nearly a weekly basis since April this year. It had been running most of the time 115 up to130 with most being in the teens over 50s, 60s & 70s with most in the 60s. There have been a few highs such as 145/74, 141/70 & 139/77.
Avatar n tn He is taking me off of the Bystolic and placing me on the new stuff. Found it interesting that the Carvedilol is an Alpha / Beta combo. I intend on asking him next visit, just curious. Thanks for the response.
Avatar n tn I am a 63 female taking 10 mg Bystolic once in the evening. I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.
Avatar m tn I started taking Bystolic and the headaches are reduced to 2-3 times a month. I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?
