Bystolic chest pain

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic chest pain

bystolic

Avatar m tn I have been having a constant chest pounding and pain radiating all over my left and right breast area, all tests done proved negative for heart condition but the pain rather than decreasing, seem to be increasing in intensity. I am on LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20-25MG and BYSTOLIC for HBP I am also on PRAVASTATIN for Cholesterol. I recently had to stop the Bystolic because my heart rate was low between 45-62.
Avatar m tn For the next few days, I noticed that when I lay down, the pain would feel better and that whenever I had any kind of physical exertion, the chest pain became terrible. The chest pain did not come and go. It was always there unless I would lie down (in which case it was still there, but less severe).
Avatar n tn I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
Avatar n tn I have a diagnosis of Afib secondary to a prior case of pericarditis. Treating Afib with Bystolic. Last Tuesday developed bradycardia; heart rate in the 40 to 50's. Constant chest pain, spent night in hospital for cardiac work up which was negative. Now we are going to do EGD to rule out stomach issues causing low pulse but I am thinking my cervical spine problems (which have worsened) may be the cause. I also have upper thoracic pain. Could this be the cause?
Avatar f tn Is anyone taking Bystolic for high blood pressure? I had a stress test and my BP was off the charts - Cardiologist said he was watching my BP over my several visits (over a 9 month period). It's been elevated every time I see him - My regular doctor never commented that my BP was high - always within normal range - sorry to say it, I believe that the girls that take the bp in the office, have no clue on how to take it 'properly'. This is my opinion of course.
Avatar f tn I was placed on Bystolic and started having chest pains about a week later. Cardiologist stopped Bystolic and placed me on Metoprolol ER and performed an echo, ekg, stress test and myocardial perfusion imaging study. MPI study showed an anterior wall perfusion defect and he felt it was due to breast tissue as ekg, echo and other views on MPI were normal. Chest pains went away for about a week and now are back. I am concerned that maybe he was wrong.
Avatar f tn I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
Avatar m tn I have taken Bystolic for 6 years. It worked really well up until the last year. Have had very few side effects.
Avatar f tn then put me on Bystolic, 5 mg, 1 x daily. I have been on the Bystolic for 3 weeks and the leg pain is back. Have appt with family Dr. tomorrow morning to talk with him again. I believe that it is the beta blocker that causes the pain and am now wondering if all beta blockers would cause it. Has anyone else had leg pain on the atenolol or bystolic? Also, can anyone else tell me of any other type of medicine that helped to lower heart rate other that a beta blocker?
Avatar n tn I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
2187821 tn?1338066900 I have had IST for as long as I can remember and I am on Bystolic and Midodrine to help with my sysmptoms. But in the last 2 weeks the symptoms have returned chest pain for the past 3 days that nothing will get rid of it or help with the pain and my heart rate is near 100 when at rest and 120 or higher when I am walking. What should I do?
424634 tn?1277857528 Yep, it's frustrating. Last year when I wore the stupid event monitor before my surgery, I recorded a couple basic tachy times and a couple times of arrhythmia and chest pain. When I saw the cardio he said he didn't have the results yet but felt I was fine to go ahead with the surgery. I asked about the chest pain and he said, "I don't think it's cardiac related." I said, "Hmm, funny the pain always comes with an arrhythmia but hey, what do I know?
Avatar f tn These symptoms could be from the Bystolic. Bystolic is not one of the most common drugs used for a long QT. There are other betablockers such as Metroprolol or Bisoprolol that have fewer symptoms. Was your fractured lead removed?
Avatar m tn I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?
343006 tn?1314446471 m pretty tolerant of discomfort and pain (irritates my doctor when I do that) but Verapamil had me whining like a baby from the chest pain, inability to breath well and pain in my legs. Tough bananas for me.
1933354 tn?1323362834 I am currently taking 2.5mg Bystolic, my cardiologist prescribed them to me to help control my heart rate. I was having lots of panic attacks and my pulse would get really high. I am on day 7 of the beta, I do feel a huge difference, a lot less anxiety, all my physical symptoms of anxiety are gone. However, I am noticing some effects of the beta blocker, such as heavy legs, really tired, tightness in chest.
214864 tn?1229715239 Thanks so much for the good news on Bystolic! This is really encouraging.....I have CAD, 6 stents and lots of chest pain already, so maybe I won't react with more chest pain. I also have Diastolic Dysfunction and possibly Diastolic Heart Failure. I take lots of fast acting nitro for angina. Oh yeah, my mouse didn't "feel" off the desk, it fell off the desk, lol. It really takes the wind out of you when you lose a large post....
Avatar n tn I had the same arm, shoulder back and knee problems from the very next morning after taking my first Bystolic. I'm 67. I have exercised everyday since I was 14 years old. I don't normally have aches and pains. After five days I couldn't stand it anymore. When so many people are complaining about this, how can doctors and phamacists say it's not a side effect just because the literature doesn't mention it.
Avatar n tn I am a female, age 63 have been on Bystolic for about 2 years have knee and leg pain that seems to be getting worse.Have mentioned this to my Doctor he says not one of listed side effects so he blew me off.
Avatar n tn I started Bystolic about 3 months ago and have been having increasing pain in the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, right shoulder blade area, and upper right arm. I am also getting weakness in my right arm and hand. If I turn my head in given direction the pain goes right to my right shoulger blade area. The doc gave me muscle relaxers but they did nothing. I also had an MRI done but it also showed nothing.
Avatar n tn This is when all the trouble started with lightheadedness, chest pain, shortness of breath and I became more sick than I was before taking these medications. When I complained, he changed to Bystolic 5mg. This made it worse by lowing down the heart beat to 43. These beta blockers caused me so much problem that I requested him to give other medications like HCTZ. Now I am on HCTZ 25 mg.
Avatar n tn I commented in an earlier post. I've been on BYSTOLIC (5 mg)for about 3 months. The 1'st side effect which I became aware of was sharp pain in my knees, and achy legs when using the stairs. These pains got better after about a month. Other side effects include weight gain, high cholesterol (on my last blood test TOTAL chol went from about 200 to 266),sexual side-effects (low libido),fatigue and worst of all my last blood pressure reading was high (150/100).
715004 tn?1309077280 I've been on Bystolic 5 mg. for a short time now to bring my heart rate down and keep my BP from spiking. I've noticed a very uncomfortable crawly feeling in my chest (feels almost like I imagine small soda bubbles in there would feel). Has anyone else had a similar sensation or knows what this might be? BP now averages 103/62. Heart rate is about 66.
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
3086858 tn?1340852861 s impossible to give you a specific recommendation without looking at all your test, but in general it is extremely important to specify what type of tachycardia you have to justify a high dose of Bystolic. A high dose of beta blocker (BB) by itself (e.g. Bystolic) can produce extreme fatigue in some patients. If you have sinus tachycardia it should not be treated with BB.
Avatar f tn ve had a sensation of pins and needles all over, pains all over body (different spot on different day) mostly in shoulders, arms, back and sometimes muscle weakness that comes and goes. Sprodiac left arm pain that comes and goes. Once in awhile a chest pain that lasts maybe a minute or two. Muscle spasms.
